      @@RealLifeDJ I found my manual and have just got in my cables and will try Freestyler DMX. you can program GIG bars. as I want to control the individual pars and derby as well the strobe to come on separately and in a sequence as to not all come on at the same time as it looks blinding when that happens

    Most places in America won't allow haze any more. Is this system any good without haze from a distance? Would one or two of these work for a wedding?

    • @RealLifeDJ
      @RealLifeDJ  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know venues were stopping smoke machines, but I thought that Haze was being allowed? Does not set off smoke detectors also!

    I have the original Gig Bars no move this is what I want to add to my pair two moving heads. I'm hoping to get them at a good price but most are in Quebec where we from Ontario
    can't visit and yes I bought a hazer. my question to you cuz I'm relatively new to the lighting and will have to figure out how DMX works but I noticed your moving lights stopping at different beats in song to the pars. are you using a DMX machine?

    • @RealLifeDJ

      @petebull8233 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just bought 4 Tom **" moving heads to add two on each of my gigabar clones. They can screw in on top of bars. Got a great deal on the heads like new 4 for $200 CA. Can't wait to get back to work. We're not open yet.

    new dj here, i just purchase gig bar move (without the ils). i was very saddened because beams from the derby was not visible and strong enough. now i know why after watching your video.
    what kind of haze machine did you use?
    also, did you set the gig bar move to Auto or sound mode? what specific settings did you use? - could you please help here.. :) thanks in advance.

    Thanks for your video! We have a couple of Gigbar Move's and love them! Just wondering if you have any luck slowing down the effects, so it's not so 'jumpy' in sound active or auto mode? I've tried everything through the settings, but it just seems they flash so fast no matter what! The derby lights are such a cool effect, and it would be awesome to have them 'feature' a little more, rather than just flashing for a split second every now and then, if that makes sense.

    • @RealLifeDJ
      @RealLifeDJ  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hay JP GREAT vid. So being a new DJ can you explain the difference between haze, fog and smoke?
    Do you need separate machines for all three of us it just the fluids.
    If you need all 3 which one is best to use?
    Looking forward to your answer and really love the channel.
    Many thanks.

    before i say this i just want to make one thing clear, i enjoy your videos, im a loyal subscriber and watch them all as they are released. I appreciate the time and effort you put into creating these video, but and here comes the......But! In recent weeks, the channel has looked more like a dj equipment advertising show, sorry but thats how it has come accross to me. It would be great to have discussions on equipment and why we would use it and how etc. discussions on play lists, maybe some demos on the mixing and music choices etc. discussions on different setups for different venues and the types of gigs. Please im sure there are many more of us on here that would love a bit more of this type of content, especially as at the moment we cant use any equipment that we have due to the lock down etc. many thanks and despite my moan please do keep the content coming as i do still enjoy them.

    • @RealLifeDJ
      @RealLifeDJ  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Danni, firstly thank you for your support it is appreciated. I admit in recent months I have featured more DJ Products and Equipment videos than previously. To cut to the reason for this is I cannot gig currently and whereas I used to do 1 gig vlog a week, now I cannot do any. I used to also get many requests for certain videos that to has disappeared!
      Coming up with new video topics is really quite hard and in fact I went 17 days recently without a video being published as I had no content topic that I felt was worth filming. Until I can gig then the balance will be more towards videos about DJ products. But I do take on board your suggestions for videos, so watch this space!
      Going back to this video, it was actually a request on a previous video! I can also see from viewing numbers and watch time the DJ Product videos are more popular. Hopefully circumstances will start to change and I will be able to film a more varied video selection.

    Great vid JP, and the gig bar looks so much better with haze, can the effects be slowed down? I try and use haze in most venues it really does add another dimension to the lights, certainly with moving heads rather than just a dot flying around. I find a lot of venues don't understand the difference between smoke and haze so just say no. Keep up the good work.

    • @RealLifeDJ
      @RealLifeDJ  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes tranforms it, completly agree and like you some venues just dont understand and say no but if you can get them to agree to a test they will usually then give the ok! thanks 😎🎧👍🏻

    • @RealLifeDJ
      @RealLifeDJ  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chauvet do a full range of haze machines depending on need All of them are here, for an overview. www.chauvetdj.eu/products/category/atmospherics-ee/
      But if looking at something low cost, then the Hurricane 700, and then they go up from there. 1000, 1200, 1600, 1DX and 4D. So a complete range there, working with the same control system and fluids.

    Personally I don’t like the gig bars as I’m really not a fan of dots everywhere, the 2 moving heads lack power and coverage. However they do still have a purpose for smaller events, or as hire out stock. Cheaper end events don’t warrant going all out massive moving heads, gobo flowers, dance floor wash lighting, eye candy effects etc. all depends on your market and what events you do. If you tend to do 1 night in a pub each week or so it’s perfect, if you do weddings less than ideal.

    • @RealLifeDJ
      @RealLifeDJ  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s a product that works where you have confined space to fit in or a small group. Yes you would not typically use in a big room with 200 people dancing!

      @@RealLifeDJ ah, dmx is what makes this light ‘shine’. (Pun intended)
      I love this... it’s a complete compact production system. I hope chauvet continues designing new gigbars that offer close to professional stage lighting capability, only compact. I’d pay 3 times the price for something like that and still think it a bargain. Imagine a gigbar from chauvet that looks like their high end professional series lights. It’d be a hit.
