Hi Daryl, this is a pretty thorough video and I got excited when you said you were going to demo Sound Active Mode. However, although when going through the features you mentioned you can control Sound Sensitivity on Sound Active Mode, you never showed how to do this. The Chauvet manual says to turn the KNOB to adjust sound sensitivity. I have not found this knob on my light fixture and the manual does not show were it is on the diagram. So, how do you adjust sound sensitivity? Also, when I turn my light on Sound Active Mode, it illuminates and runs a pattern when there is no music. I would think it would be blacked out when there is no music. Any help appreciated here. Thanks
Daryl, Right on. I totally agree. Perfect, even if you only get one. Some DMX control and a pair of these would be a great starting point. These fixtures remove the issue of overlapping and color spilling. For beginners, it's really as plug-and-go as you can get.
Hey Daryl, please can you share a video on best practices for adding a new fixture in soundswitch and how to give the best performance of say the wash fx hex in soundswitch without doing scripting of tracks
This was my biggest issue with the Wash FX 2. I could not find any option to cycle through the Auto preset modes. Worse, when using the IRC remote, when clicking on Auto, it would only play the preset which was last programmed into the back LCD display. And.... it would go to full brightness. The IRC dimmer control would only work on static colors or fades. And then I found Soundswitch which has breathed new life into these fixtures for me. Thanks Daryl!
Great Video Sir. I have a pair of these are they are great. I did purchase the remote and it was trash. I sent it back. I read some reviews and it said it wasn't bad but don't always work. I guess i got a remote that didn't work too well.
I think there's some lights that are more usable than others without DMX. This one really needs dmx control imo. That's awesome! I haven't seen Vibrio, but it looks pretty cool!
Hey Darryl, I’ve used 4 in the front and they were too bright. Four corners since I do allot of outdoor events ( Ranchos ) my only gripe is power 🤦♂️ battery packs for now I guess.
Hey Daryl, great videos! I have battery powered Pixel tubes & uplighting. Both have 'Wireless DMX' in them. Why isn't wireless DMX in the newer 'Wired' fixtures? I hate using those battery operated dongles, to create wireless DMX for my controller. I'm using the ADJ WMX1 controller and it's awesome! Let me know if you are aware of any wired fixtures with wireless DMX. Thanks!
I agree, having built-in wireless dmx is simple to implement and should come standard with DJ-centric fixtures. A lot of lights are also meant to appeal to production gigs, and wireless dmx isn't always the best solution for those
Hi Daryl thanks for the awesome video. I have the Chuavet Wash FX 2. If I purchase your autoloops for soundswithch will it work with the Wash FX 2? Thanks
I have a dumb question but just curious. Do you guys throw all your boxes away from all the lights you buy? Lol. What do you say them just in case you might sell the lights in the future cause I have a wall of boxes and I’m thinking what the hell am I doing kind of just throw them away
Actually a great question! I keep them for at least the return window. I also keep it if I'm not sure if I want to permanently integrate this into my system. I just sold some movers and was super grateful I kept the original retail and shipping box. Made shipping a breeze! But if I have had something for a long time, I get rid of the box. I don't have any boxes over a year old
Yes I like the whole setup with the gravity

Thanks for your feedback! They truly are a plug n go fixture

Daryl, have you seen the ADJ Eliminator Mega Wash 24? No one has done a comparison video. It’d be interesting to see.
I’d be happy to review one, but I don’t have any adj contacts yet :/
Nor does Chauvet reach out for reviews. Honestly I’ll probably stop making freebies for brands because I’m getting flooded from other brands
Hi Daryl, I think there is a MODE 0 which cycles through the sound active modes.
I could not find it but that is great news, and would be the recommended mode of operation if one were to operate this on stand-alone mode

I have several chauvet ir remotes and I dislike them because ir remotes are finicky, they need line of sight and are a pain at gigs in dark rooms
@DJDarylBennett I attempted mine at home and never had any luck. Now I have the Wolfmix1, and it works great with my Hex.
Agree with you...any light is useless unless you have DMX control....personally I still use Vibrio and it's very easy to learn and very stable.

Great video Daryl. Have you drilled another two holes in the wash fx hex to secure it when it's standing @8:41 like that?
Nope, these are just the default holes!
Thank you @@DJDarylBennett! Would you recommend a Chauvet Obey 10 as a basic way to control these lights?
This is exactly the same set up I have and I’m thinking on getting two more FX2s and gravity stands and yes, I wish they were battery powered 🙌
Four? Very interesting! I love it. Would you put them in different areas of the venue? Or is this for like really big events, like school dances?

Yeah man, I never thought about that.@@DJDarylBennett
Hi Daryl thanks for the awesome video. I have the Chuavet Wash FX 2. If I purchase your autoloops for soundswithch will it work with the Wash FX 2? Thanks
Yes, I have a profile for both in there
Awesome thanks mate
Dumb question . I didn’t use DMx.. just enabled active mode on the wash , but somehow wash is not lighting based on the music ?
It should move those macros based on the music
So there is no wireless for master/slave? They need to be wired together?
Yes or with wireless transmitter/receiver set
Daryl, great video! You sound like Jimmy Kimmel when you talk 😂 awesome light!
😂 thanks for watching!
I can't get the link for the gravity stand and the clamp could you please send
Here you go!

I have great sound mode Chauvet units. Bummer it doesn’t have a cycle thru sound mode. I’m a one man show. I would need 4 arms if I did DMX too.
That’s why I like SoundSwitch, so I can automate it

Hi Daryl,
Great video! Could we sent up a phone call ? I am interested in purchasing your SS file but had a couple questions. Thanks
Sure, shoot me an email daryl@admdj.com
Can these be controlled by midi ?
Yes. But you would need some sort of midi to DMX connection. Most DMX software are compatible with midi controllers
oooh he says
" power cable " hes bein politically correct around here its a CORD
