Very hard to control with a gamepad but not impossible, you need to apply tail rotor (left or right trigger) the second you leave the ground. Once you go into a spin it's goodnight Vienna.
Just want to correct an error in your description of the controls. The Cyclic doesn’t raise and lower the craft. The Collective stick does. Cyclic controls the pitch angles of the main rotor.
Has anyone else noticed that ever since this update the game (on consoles) just freaks out sometimes?? Ever since this update sometimes the game just forces me to lose control of whatever plane I’m flying and I crash into the ground. It’s even put me in a flat spin in the F18 for no reason
I've tried the helicopters - they are impossible. When I press A to increase the engine and the helicopter starts to rise above the ground, pushing forward on the left control stick on the Xbox controller just makes the nose of the copter dip downwards - it does NOT make the aircraft fly forwards??! How on earth do I get it to move forwards (I am using the default flying controls - do I need to change this to the helicopter profile) ??!
Got first Xbox at Christmas. Just started with MSFS and love it. This video is good too. Where is this airport pls. Also I had issue with wobbly he'll. You need to ensure you have the controller and assist correctly setup.
Hi mate. I'm using an xbox game contolller plugged into pc. Managed to take off from London city and land on clapham common. I've noticed that once you reduce the collective to descend just a little it it wont let you then increase the throttle untill your near on landed. Just gotta keep practising i think :-)
I use the tap method for fine control when landing. Repeated small taps on A or B to adjust the throttle in small increments. Xbox controller profile is useless as you can no longer look around which is vital for helicopter flight.
I don't understand how your copter takes off straight up into the air. I ease very lightly on the throttle to raise it up, and as soon as I get it off the ground it starts getting wobbly.
Anyone have problems on Xbox of coop players just having a generic plane model instead of the one they choose? Every player I see has the same model plane
I've got a question. I'm switching to pc from console and was wondering if this pc is decent. It's a cyberpower. Intel core i7-12700f, 16gb of memory, NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3060 Ti, 1TB HDD+500gb SSD. Will that run dayz smoothly?
@@samgraham9754 ty for the reply. It's a big decision..makes me nerveous lol. Making the switch today..wife agreed to buy me one as long as I put the laptop and ps5 up on ebay

Does anyone know, as I'd love it, helicopter controls (cyclic, collective + pedals) but isn't £6,500!? Or something decent to fly aircraft of all sorts for Xbox Series X? Thanks!
Well you won't get peddles, but the Thustmaster T Flight HOTAS X is decent (low cost) joystick with a detachable throttle, a bunch of programable buttons and a nice ruder control. Works well with PC not sure about X-Box.
Soon as I take off it just spins all over the place
I do too
Go to assistant options and turn on the helicopter assist, there are 2 of them in the Assistant options in game paused menu
@@johnwelsh3497 it keep spinning damn this whitout hotas its almost impossible to fly
Same here. As soon as I want to take a turn it starts spinning uncontrollably
Same

It’s not bugged, it’s the assists keeping you from descending to fast and entering VRS. Seems pretty good for an Xbox controller setup

I'm fine with the gamepad, I flew helicopters in sims for over 30yrs though. DO NOT try to input like a plane. Micro inputs isn't the word....

I found turning OFF the collective assists made things much easier with the throttle control AI messing up my flight

Collective is the one that makes you go up and down! The more you know. 😉

i cant use my xbox controller control mod helicopter , or try any control setup but i cant control it because not react :((
I wish we today june 2023 had a preset for joysticks. My MD500E is a killer😅

It's not a problem. It's just how the game is unfortunately.
Whrn are they going to fix these trash helocopter controls

even a year later, its impossible to fly with a controller.
Helicopter's are still to hard to fly today
should make a video flying around real life Chernarus in MSFS
The other players rotors don't even spin and it breaks the Emersion
