    Sonata Media: mralextech.net/Sonata I had LOADS of fun doing this 😄 I haven't done a creative task like this in a while so it was great. I only gave myself a few hours to find the music, concept, footage and edit it all together.

    This was the best tutorial on D Resolve I have ever seen. I love how you explain how something will happen when done wrong, it adds more to the understanding and you are going way too fast like others. You have gotten a subscriber with bell selected. Great work.

    This was really useful, a tutorial to build a project using best practices. I find MrAlexTech to be one of my most useful TH-cam subscriptions. I learned a few things in this project that you don't get very often when looking for a solution to the problem at hand. Like, I wouldn't have thought you could download dust like that or make it into such an artistic composite. I didn't know you could set the font for just part of a title. Etc. Following this style of tutorial means I don't have to be in a frenzy for that one solution all the time. Anyway, thanks very much. You're teaching me a lot (like the neon title tracker "Waddup Folks").

    I know that I want to make edited gameplay of different story games to make them feel more like TV Shows, specifically so I can share some of the stories that I think they'll like with them without them needing to actually play the games, so I'll definitely be using this advice for those projects whenever I jump into them.

    Quick tip: If the footage has audio attached and you don't want it to come down to the timeline, simply click on the A1 label so it no longer has a red border around it. Then any clip you drag to the timeline won't bring the audio, just the video.

      or, and i know i'm 2 years late to the party on this, but i just saw this video and consequently your comment, hold alt when dragging your footage from the bin, and it'll only drag the video. hold shift and it'll only drag the audio (make sure to not select multiple things with shift click first, though).

    Alex, this was a fun and interesting bit. I keep coming back to it and wishing you might continue the thinking forward to a more complex intro. I've been looking at some of the most strange and interesting one's like from: Dexter, Doom Patrol, True Detective, Jessica Jones, True Blood, Stephen Moffitt's "Sherlock" and Justified. They all have somber to grotesque qualities that pull one in. It would really be cool if you could go into depth on how to create some of these sequences.

      @@MrAlexTech Yeah, I'm doing well ... learning new Resolve things all the time, thanks to you... and I absolutely LOVE the transitions pack you put out a month or so ago, I've used it in several of my latest videos [which will be published in the coming month] - the Whip and Zoom are my favorites, but I used the Spin one too a few times. Right now I'm working on a Dr. Strange "portal" transition ... it's drag & drop now, but I can't seem to get it to stretch with the transition, if that makes sense... it's stuck at 30fps [I pre-rendered the portal itself, and it's 30 images] ... it's a work in progress so I'm not sharing yet but it's pretty neat and works with my 30fps timelines. I can "ride through" a Dr. Strange portal now!

    @jeffrey8154 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I really appreciated the video, but the thing that always gets me is. Why do people do the tutorials liek we are listening to a podcast and have to describe what we are already looking at. If you just do it, we can simply follow as you click and just say why you do something, not describing what we are looking at. A good example of this is at 8:38 - 8:50 What you start to say from 8:50 does help to explain the why, but the description before was unnecessary and it is just more information the viewer have to listen to and figure out if they can ignore it.
    I have watched thousands of hours of tutorials over the last 20 years, and I notice more and more that people are describing to much of what we are looking at. And at times the explanation is also filled with basic user stuff that even grand ma would know, like say to copy paste click ctrl + c or command + c for the mac. We are a society so far forward with computers that many things are not nessecary any more. Even grandma had instagram.
    Hope this help to make your tutorials better.

    • @MrAlexTech
      @MrAlexTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The problem is you're assuming the level of the viewer and presuming they're at your own level. It's the worst mistake anyone teaching can make, in my opinion.
      While it may seem odd to us higher level users, there are many people that don't know the keyboard shortcuts etc. If I aim at a relatively low base level, anyone can follow it. Higher level users can skip to the bits they care about but all the information is there, so even absolutely beginners can follow along.
      I get dozens of comments everyday thanking me for including the keyboard shortcuts, not skipping the basic details, explaining this etc etc.
      Some users don't watch much, and prefer to listen and follow along. Others watch it all and then try to reproduce. People learn in different ways.
      Also I guarantee that if I didn't explain what I was doing while I was doing it (like right clicking to add the alpha output for example) some wouldn't be able to follow along. This is from experience where I've missed bits in the past.
