Even if they stopped releasing more DVDs, it wouldn't change the price of the 4K disc. If the studios really cared about physical media, they would lower the prices. Cheaper prices automatically mean more people buying 4K, but nope.
@megamikethemovieman From Disney certainly not so much is for sure, normally the 4K standard Blu-ray should not cost more than 15 and with the steelbooks you can live quite well with 20 but nothing more.
Some Walmarts, they are doing away with physical media. The reason why the price is high for most 4K Steelbooks because, you only could get it online. There are some people that been buying the 4K Steelbooks and try to sell it for more money on eBay because some 4K Steelbooks are limited edition.
@@gonghole So could be those re-sellers driving up a lot of the price? Do you think many actually buy resold physical media second hand? I can’t imagine myself way overpaying like that.
@@megamikethemovieman It does seem hard to justify overpaying, especially when it feels like retailers are creating a scarcity. I think some collectors might pay those prices to get something rare that they really want, though.
Got nothing to do with Walmart. It all Supply and demand.....Disney deliberately released limited supply to milk the.......limited editions sellout because Scalpers and it shame people are buying from these vultures. Saying that patience .....just get standard editions at normal price.
Zodiac is based on a true case. Oh wow 4Ks are still good. Yeah Disney's prices are ridiculous theirs are just mainstream movies and series and they're selling them like they're cult horror movies or hard to find, like they're smaller boutique labels. Good numbers and cool video Mike!👍
@@HECTORMONTALVO-le9cn I know right, so weird. A lot of those mainstream releases have already been released on other formats, not rare at all. When do you think Disney will take a hint and change?
@megamikethemovieman seriously I think never. Because remember they were abandoning physical media and did a turn around. But I think they wanna maximize profit. They know most Disney fans will buy their releases no matter what. I'm a similar way with horror from Severin and Vinegar Syndrome. The only exaggeration I have recently seen is that $300 Texas Chainsaw Massacre set outrageous! And still people bought it. I understand $300 for the Black Emmanuelle box set because it has like 20 movies and that's a lot. But $300 for just one movie? Heck NO! But Disney is not too far behind from this.🤑
@@soshiderek Last movie I watched today was Red One in theaters. Was watching some Hammer Horror before that. Now just watching the Paul vs Tyson fights.
@@soshiderek Van Helsing is fun too. Both that and Red One have cool Mythology about them either the characters they use which is why I think I like both. Very comparable.
Thanks Mike
@@craigosterberg5045 Thank you. 4Ks are still doing good.

Great point! Those 4K prices are out of control. Do you think they will ever get prices under control?

4k is a scam
@@Scifi4life For me, the format is not my cup of tea either.
Like I just don't know why people dismiss bluray so much because of 4k. Blurays are still an amazing picture quality.

@@thenewkid191 So heavy drama then? Would most people rewatch that one?
