This album is for the alternative kids that grew up and had to deal with the world and life....and that's why this album is a masterpiece, every song makes sense. Edit: Came back to watch the video again, feels like its been a whole decade. Anyway, thanks for the likes and I hope everybody's safe and semi-okay during these times. 🙏🏿
THIS IS THE DESCRIPTION THAT WE NEED!!!! Ive been trying to explain to people this album is for Paramore FANS! WE'RE GROWN UPS NOW! If your 14 this aint for you!! Start with AWKIF!!
I don't care if a band changes their sound as long as that sound is good. And I feel the fans who are stuck in the past are really missing out because this is some of the best music they've done in recent years, and that's really saying a lot.
JackHammer87 I would imagine most people agree regarding a band changing their sound. Some people aren't going to agree that this change is good. It happens. Saying people are "stuck in the past" is silly. Maybe they prefer rock and roll with a sound that's more focused on heavier guitars and don't care for this type of pop.
@@n2nother But there is people who are stuck in the past, not everyone, but they are. Plus, when music it's good it doesn't matter if you like it or not.
Hayley can handle the stage presence so much. Her gestures doesn't even affect her holy vocals. Overall the band is good. The music is good. I love the new Paramore. Old one tho will always be with us.
that highlight is still and may forever be the most beautiful thing i've ever seen in terms of makeup. it's just fking incredible. as is this performance.
It just goes to show how she really earns her confidence and shines through her work, but outside of it, she's a humble, shy being. Makes her all the more lovable.
Luke Sky I think he/she meant how Paramore performed. Back in the days, when Paramore performed either be it on a TV show or in a concert, they would perform it as if it was their concert. Hayley would be jumping around and be all energetic, as if it was Paramore's concert. I get the point, I miss it too. But, Paramore's still the same, just trying out something new. 😁
Oh boy. It was like yesterday, year 2006, me sitting in front of my computer screen, listening to Paramore while chatting on messenger. And now they’ve come such a long way, more creative and fearless. This is so good.
I’m guessing no one in the comments saying this is weird or they don’t understand, are they on drugs, Cindy lauper copy, etc. have watched the song’s music video, have you? Because you would perfectly understand this performance (brilliant btw) if you cared just enough to do some research, not even on the band, but on the song
I mean, listening to music isn't really something you should have to do research for to like. Either you like the groove or you don't. This doesn't feel like the old punkier rockier songs I know this band for.
This performance is part of the marketing for their summer tour. People watching this shouldn’t have to watch the music video to get this. Not even every fan of a band watches all the music videos. You’re just making excuses for this performance, which was pretty bad
I really do not get how some people think that artists need to stay completely the same after so many years. There are so many factors in how and why people change their sound and style: growing up, different ideas, lineup changes, personal preferences, life changes. People need to, at the very least, stop whining about how they’re “not the same Paramore”. You can have personal preferences on which era you like, but you have to let them grow and still have the chance to become inspired by new things all while being considerate and respecting their new process. So instead of wasting your time complaining on how they’ve changed, you can use that time to go listen to old Paramore songs. Paramore, in my opinion, excelled at this shift in their sound and style. Change is pretty much inevitable in almost every artist, no matter how big or small the change is and people need to realize that.
You can feel her emotion in every song in every album... people grow and change and so does what you write about. Paramore will always be the best no matter what they do!!! I love the new sound they have and you are so correct on how artist change in there sound
Amy McDonald Saying that though there is a difference between growing as a band and alienating older fans especially ones that were there from the word go.
I love this song. This album. Everything. After Laughter deserved a Grammy nom. Especially since Melodrama (Lorde) was nominated for Album of the Year. As much as I enjoy Melodrama, After Laughter is superior. 🤷🏾
Hayley's channeling a little Talking Heads, Missing Persons and The Cars. She's so charismatic. Love the throwbackish 80's vibe but still sounding current. That's artistry. Paramore are a criminally underrated band.
Hayley and her guitarist are obsessed with Talking Heads. Noticed with the sound of the album and then with these type of performances. Great to see and a testament to how ground breaking TH are.
The BEST music is music that is equal parts intellectual, emotional & sexual . Paramore's music is Always that difficult to achieve equal parts of all 3. The fine tradition that goes back to Heads & a legacy that goes back in the annals of music history that most artists of today miss the mark on. Thank goodness for Paramore in this age of lopsided music.
Haley, if by the probably one in a million chances you see this, I just wanna let you know, I felt this performance to my core and it touched my soul. Thank you for what you do. 😢❤
This performance is the culmination of a band and performer in Hayley that has been seasoned on the road and seen some shite in the music industry while perfecting their craft and sound. Everything from the wardrobe, to the lighting, stage presence and camera awareness to the dancing and every little movement Hayley makes, come across as a conscience artistic decision that has been practiced to perfection while remaining to feel natural. Everything down to the the actual playing of and singing of the song was the work of true professional entertainers doing something original and unique while also feeling like a complete homage to 80s pop bands and MTV music videos. As if stirring a nostalgia for something that had never even existed yet. The influences are there, they’re present and yet it so well produced and put together it’s like nothing else that’s ever been put out there. This is Paramore self realized and turned up to 11. One of my favorite performances on a late night show or otherwise for a wide variety of reasons, both universal and personal. It’s just everything a musical performance should be. The epitome of entertainment at its peak. The precipice of a band of artists showing they made it and confidently displaying their art for the world! 🔥👏🔥❤️🔥
Slowly crept into my favourite Paramore song. Just so happy sounding but lyrics are almost the polar opposite. They always hit different. Her voice can go to any genre she wants.
I have no idea what category or genre or whatever they're in, but I have no doubt their talent eclipses the rest. I checked out their NPR Tiny Desk performance not knowing of them and was thoroughly impressed.....and oh since it's been brought up; yes I'm also a Talking Heads fan for whatever it's worth ? :)
Lots of people in the comments being really nasty. Not here for that. Hayley's just telling more of the story with her acting- it's meant to be weird and nervous and spastic.
