I liked hearing about your Navy careers. I joined the Navy the day I graduated from high in 1964. I got out of the Navy as an E5 in 1968 after an eighteen month tour in Danang, Vietnam. I joined the Navy Reserves in 1973 and in 1974 I went active duty in the reserves and then in 1974 requested a recall into the active duty side of the reserves. In 1993 I retired as a Limited Duty LT, SC.

How interesting! So far, I've loved all your videos. We lived 20 years in San Antonio and 15 years in Windcrest. Our youngest son, Eric, was a paramedic trained at UT Health Science Center. He was a firefighter/paramedic for Leon Valley and a lieutenant/paramedic for the Windcrest Volunteer Fire Department. He was killed 15 years ago which eventually prompted us to begin our RV adventures. We did 7 years part-time and 6 years (so far) full time. Phil, you were so lucky! I joined the Air Force in 1963 - and soon wished I had joined the Navy! Looking forward to your future videos.

We're at Americas Mailbox taking care of our residency , drivers license's , concealed carry permits etc.
Also have to have the brakes fixed on our truck , we had a right rear brake wheel cylinder fixed before we left and had our emergency brake adjusted , but the brake that was repaired is hanging up on us and heating up.

Interesting that you were on the USS Midway. I played with the 296th Army Band from Camp Zama on a Family Day Cruise on the Midway in 1977. I truly enjoy your videos.

Wish I had the same foresight as you when you drove into the recruiter's office. I got halfway from my house to the recruiters office and turned around cause in my mind I was joining the military for the wrong reason, no job. Boy, was I ever wrong considering how far you 2 have come. I'm a widowed father of 3 with 1 being special needs. I would not go back and change my mind if I could. Love my kids but your story could inspire a lot of high schoolers to do what you did. Thank you both for your service.
It was the best thing we did! Both of us. We didnt think about high schools.
My wife and I just discovered your channel and we love your videos. We are retired and we RV 4-5 months a year in our 5th wheel but we like having a home to come back to. I was in the Navy during the early 70's and loved the story of how you met. You guys are so genuine and honest plus you have great video presence. I am sure the channel will thrive. Just found you two here and have enjoyed some of your videos. My wife and I are TT campers and we graduated from our 2000 Coleman pop-up last year to a 2019 Winnebago Minnie Plus 27BHSS. Thank you for your service! I also served in the US Navy as a submarine officer from May 1981 to the end of June 1987. So you to joined shortly after I left.

I was used to pulling the rv but had many things to learn including how to fix the water pump! I felt like you were friends from the first youtube I watched last night! Senior Chief, you're very fortunate that your old ship is a museum. My ship, the USS Connole FF-1056 was sold to the Greek Navy, and sunk as a target several years ago. very sad.

It is easy when its a camera and not a room full of people but I can tell you I have gotten much better since the channel started.

Too funny, I was shopping between USAF and USN and joined in '76. Recruiter said you're supposed to go to Great Lakes, but where do you want? "Orlando!" So off to San Diego I went.
First off thanks to the both of you for serving and really appreciate your service. Went to Yokosuka for two weeks. My daughter was stationed there for four years on the USS George Washington. Nice to know how you guys got to where you are and do you have any regrets whatsoever so far?? Judging from your other videos I doubt you do!! Enjoy and as always can’t wait for your next one!!
Not one regret yet. We dont even regret the dreaded dolly because how would we know we hated it unless we tried it out. We did move a little quickly initially but again it was all a learning experience.

I enjoy you channel. We are a bit past that point in our lives, being in our mid 70's. So I enjoy watching others and that brings me to the reason I am typing this note. Sadly I have come to a part in my life when I can forget what I am doing, when I am doing it. Which is why this posting is a BIT ON THE SHORT SIDE. I will no doubt remember what I was going to say sometime in the future.

I spent most of my career working in the Trident submarine fleet. I’m currently still working but getting closer to that Class A diesel motor home pulling a Jeep! Those Navy recruiters are right on it. I went to the Coast Guard recruiter's office. Nobody there. The Navy recruiter came from across the hall and asked what I wanted. I said Coast Guard, he said they were gone for the day and asked if he could help me. Next thing I know I'm on my way to Navy Boot Camp in Orlando!
So Stacy grew up in Dawsonville, Ga. The hometown of NASCAR Legion Bill Elliot( known as awesome Bill from Dawsonville). He won the Winston Cup Championship in 1988. My wife and I love your channel. Be safe and have fun.

You guys were my first you tube subscription, I watched 1video and you had me. The two of you complement each other in every way and I truly look forward to each and every video. Hope I get to start full timing one day until then I'll keep an eye out for Ruby. I'm a regional truck driver and drive from Conover NC to London KY round trip Monday through Friday. Phil I drive the gorge the first 20 miles of twist and turns into North Carolina from Tennessee (I-40) not once but twice ever day, pulling a 53 foot trailer. Thanks for sharing how you met. I love hearing stories of how people first met. I have heard some real doozies and all were extremely funny. The best stories started out with one not wanting anything to do with the other, and always the greatest loves stories from there. I married in 2001 to a woman from the Philippines. We were married for 6 years and divorced in 2007. Been a single guy ever since. Sometimes a very lonely journey on my own, but with great friends, life ha been okay. looking forward to making more friends on the road.
You will LOVE the RV community. It really is amazing.

But she accomplished her NP because she has a supportive husband who had her back knowing the end reward. My husband says he's the smartest man on earth because he married a "younger nurse". I'm only 3 yrs younger, but you know he scores massive points every time I hear it! ;-) Keep up the good work. Can't wait for the "swag"!
You are absolutely correct! He has supported my dreams and goals 100% every step of the way. Never once (even while collecting pennies) did he say it couldnt be done. We are a great team and I hope we continue to push each other to be better and do better!

I love your videos, probably because my husband is a retired 04 from the USAF. However, he is still working due to 5 kids with the 2 youngest in high school. I would love more videos with military camping info as well as rv parks offering military discounts.
Almost every private RV park we have been to has give us military discounts. We always ask. State, national, COE and county do not but most will allow a discount with the senior or access pass. More military campground reviews will come as we hit them up....Ft Sam included.

Brings back memories. I remember the Enlisted Club in Yokosuka as well as some dive bars in the Honch just outside the base. I was home ported there in 1991-92. I was on the USS Independence when we swapped with the Midway in 91.

Thanks to both of you for your service! I wish i could have retired but Clinton kicked me out for E-4P over 8 yrs. My wife was able to retire after 20.5 yrs though. You have thanked me before for my service. We were both Army, I was in the first gulf war, jumped in Bahrain with the 82nd ABN. I appreciate the naval bombing, missiles and involvement, before we went into Iran. I think it made the outcome so much different and saved lives.
We thank you again! I dont know if we can ever thank our Vets enough for all they give.
My hubby and I are new to San Antonio, we've been here a year, and are loving it! Excited to see that two of my favorite TH-camrs call it home. Also, I am a big fan of nurses in general, and have been using a nurse practitioner as my primary care for years. Nurses are so attentive and caring, I feel like they really listen to their patients and appreciate when you are active and knowledgeable in your own health. Thank you for all of the great content. Hubby and I plan on going on the road full time in a couple of years.

I could see from the opening montage that you were a LtCmdr and a LEO, but you walked the walk and talked the talk that could only come from being enlisted. Now it all makes sense. I greatly respect and admire both of you as well as your family for your dedication and sacrifice in the service of the US Navy. I have a friend that is a volunteer on the Midway. We we're on it a half a year ago. Great ship. My husband was in the Navy and we go to his ships reunion every year.

Stacey, I had the same cyst on my thyroid but I had it removed. It was about the size of an egg and growing. The surgery was a breeze and I feel so much better now that it's gone. Love your videos...thanks for all the camping info.
Yeah, surgery has been discussed. I may do it eventually. I actually have about 6 of them so if they remove them I may loose thyroid function so I have been putting it off. It is just funny looking not doesnt interfere with function so.....who knows if/when I have it removed.
You, Me & the RV my doc says the same thing. It’s working. Leave it be if it doesn’t interfere with breathing and swallowing!

Ok, ok... I already commented on this video, but I gotta add another one.. You two mentioned growing the channel, and the work you put into it. Well, it shows!! I follow about 20 "RV'r" channels, and yours is 1 of my top 5 favorites.. The editing is great, the intro is spot on - with the photos, music, and length... And each video seems to have a good flow to it, and you keep it interesting. I'm often left wondering how they turn out so good with out a "behind-the-scenes-crew". (Do you have a crew??) Anyway, my only complaint is at the end of many of them, I find myself saying, "What, it's over already?!?!?"
This is the nicest post ever! It really means a lot to me with all the hours I put in to create and edit the videos. I am the behind the scenes crew!! Hahaha I wear many hats! Thankfully, it has gotten easier as I have become more proficient in the editing program.

Really enjoyed this video. Gives us a chance to get to know you better. We have similar Navy beginning. Spent time in Yokosuka and Atsugi attached to VAQ136 and VA115 deploying on the USS Midway. Did 2 IO cruises and left for shore duty in April 1988. Enjoyed my time there. Will buy you dinner if you pass thru Macon, GA sometime. Be safe and enjoy the experience!

Thank you guys so much for both your service and the fun videos. I have been sharing your story and videos with my wife, as we look at hitting the road full time. I joined the Army in Dec of 88, met my wife who was a medic and now a nurse, and I'll be retiring in 16 months. Keep up the great work!
