I watch a lot of RV related TH-cam videos, most of them created by couples. I enjoy your videos because of the great dynamics between the two of you . Not sure if dynamics is the best way to describe it, but your love and respect of each other make your videos a joy to watch. So often one person monopolizes the conversation giving the other person little opportunity to contribute to the conversation, this is not so with your videos. You’re love for each other and RVing comes through strong and it’s refreshing. Please keep producing the videos.
My wife and I just recently retired and are still looking for the right RV to match our still undetermined style. I expect that we will be a mix too, starting off in the comfort and safety of parks with full hookups and working towards some more remote sites. We do like people around, just not too close. Being out in the middle of nowhere for an extended time probably won’t be I preferred style of RVing.

Our first choice is Army Core of Engineers, then State parks, then private campgrounds. Staying with family is always nice.

You had to drive ALL the way to California for groceries!! - I almost spit out my water Phil. Seems like most of us when we first start out tend to stick to as many full hookups as possible (and affordable) until we become comfortable with our rigs and ourselves. Then we branch out to try boondocking and find our 'balance' for what works best for the travel style we find the most comfortable. Thanks again for another good collaboration video. Enjoyed it! 👍

The Glenda and I like a mix. We are running lithium and solar providing a lot of flexibility. But camping along rivers in the west fly fishing for trout is my favorite. Quiet, beautiful surrounded by the things I love and zero stress. M

This has been great!! We belong to TT and will use that as our foundation resting spot till I get to know my rig, I am wanting to do state parks, ACOE, and Boondocking. Great perspectives!! I hope we cross paths someday. Safe travels and good health!!

We have done a little of everything, we love tailgating Texas Tech football games and have done a couple of bowl games.

Very good video. For us our favorites are COE, State Parks, NP, County/City parks, Harvest Hosts, private (Phil that would be privately owned not the secrete hand shake kind) and last would be RV resorts especially over packed ones. We avoid these as much as possible (RV resorts).

It sounds like we like the same places
We've been full timing one year on the 15th of April. We have learned SO much from every style of camping and when someone asked us for an example, of course, we go brain dead. Walmart parking lots present the biggest challenge for me because I don't like to use our propane stove to make coffee-that's what the electric coffee pot and the generator is for and it's bad form to leave our generator outside on the ground. Now that we've been living in 19' travel trailer getting a feel for tiny nomadic living for a year we are excited to add 70 sq. ft. of living space upgrading to a shorty Class A. (It's 25' with two slide. Ha, living large!) We are minimalist and prefer to remain under 25' so we fit anywhere especially in national parks. (Fell in love with an Axis by Thor in a campground in Utah and began researching the shorty Class A's.) Oh, it's important to note that we used to travel in Class B camper vans so each rig has gotten a little bit taller and the bathrooms have gotten roomier. Love your videos! You two are adorable.

My wife Jo-Ann and I have done a lot of dry camping ( boondocking ) in the past and we prefer to dry camp. We get more privacy dry camping than we do camping at a park or campground.
We love boondocking now too!

It is funny to hear that a lot of you changed your ideal camping locations after you started camping. I did the same thing, but so far, I have gone the opposite direction as most of the folks on your video went. I had planned to stay mostly at forest and national park campgrounds. However, since I am in a camper without an inverter or generator, I have decided that I want at least electric hookups. Hopefully I can find a way to overcome this.
It does make it harder when you dont have a way to make your own power.
If im going camping, i want to find a nice area, that the big monster rv's cant venture too, monster rv's includeing 5th wheels class a and b etc, drive down a logging road or road that isnt on a map and see what you find, Camping/rving is all about location

I too gotta admit our favorite style is glamping. The problem is that it really is getting cramped. We really haven't boondocked much because we've haven't spent much time in the west and east of the Mississippi has a lot less opportunity. Many state parks and even county fairgrounds are now offering 50 amp and water hookups.
Phil loves glamping too! He loves the pools and hot tubs too!
Boondocking is definitely our absolute favorite! We really don’t like RV parks, too close together too noisy. Love National Parks, State Parks and Army Core of Engineers.

OMG if I keep watching these videos I am going to jump ship on my last 1 1/2 before retirement lol, NOT, but I wish lol. Still got to talk hubby into retiring earlier. We might try that going through Vegas. We are dropping weight, hard on a diet. So a few mile on the squirrel cage might be a helpful solution. RV living can put weight on ya. Being concious of your food intake and activity level along with getting older is an issue. We are super excited to be on the road again. Mike

I am glad we are not the only ones having to drop weight! A squirrel could help us too! Keep us out of the wineries and breweries......although do I really want that to happen.
We started out in a tent many years ago and now have progressed to a 5th wheel and our favorite at this point would be a full hook-up situation. One of our favorite parks is Table Rock Lake State park. we want to try the boondocking but the information on the logistics of this style of camping seems quite elusive. Sure I have looked on BLM to try to figure out the permit and location details and I can't quite seem to figure it out, but I will get it eventually. I would like to see a "by the numbers" break down of the process for boondocking. Someone, anyone? Overall great video and excellent information. I have subscribed to all of the speakers and enjoy watching every week - especially You, Me & the RV, you guys are great! Looking forward to the next one and as always, safe travels.
We will be boondocking when we head east. How about 2 days with water and electric management? How we save water and electric etc. This was our thing when we were researching too. We wanted someone to spell it out.

My husband wants to try boondocking, but being without electricity scares me. Not necessarily scares me, but I like my AC at night 🤣
It is doable Cherie. Know your rig and stay out of the hotter climates......we hope to get better with cooler climates!!! LOL

We just started full timing in February and have only stayed in Campground/Resorts so far. But we will be staying in our first State Park in just a couple weeks, that is our next destination. So no boondocking experience just yet. I'm sure when the time comes boondocking will be easier for Barry than myself. He enjoyed tent camping before we started our journey but I have always been a hotel girl so this is all new to me! LOL
I am a hotel girl too....I must have my hair dryer and flat iron! I do not go without even while boondocking so you CAN do it!

It's all good humor, my wife and I have been RVing since 2007 in between deployments. Though now limited to two weeks out of the year. Though soon my dream to hit the road several months at a time. Next trip in September pairing up with sister in law and her husband. "See you on the road"!

One more thing for ideas for videos. I would like to hear if the state parks, national parks wherever really have that size limit of 28 ft or smaller as, we will be in the market to trade in our TT for a 5th wheel and I don't wanna have problems getting into places because of size so I would like to hear everybody's comments on the size limits & now hearing about the age of your rig being over 10 yrs., not getting into some places 😒🙁. Anyway, if you can, thanks much!
They all vary! Some are less than 30 ft but we have found plenty for our 35 ft rig. The most restricted is 40 and above. Obviously the smaller you are the more options you will have but it doesnt automatically exclude you.
I enjoy your channel. I especially like your interviews with other people to get their perspective. I’m thinking of buying an rv, as a part-timer to begin with and see how it goes, then possibly full time down the road. What I want to ask is, are there many areas with opportunities to use a 4-wheeler? This would affect the type of rv I buy. I’ve not seen much on you tube with this content, so I thought I’d ask.
There are areas for 4 wheelers. Although we dont have one we did see a lot of them while in AZ.
Great info - Family of 5 - retired 25 yrs Army - looking to start our "Great Adventure" Hitting the road with the family within the next 3-4 months. Want a Class A or Super C with bunks for the boys...appreciate your site - fun useful information. ps ...Go Army - Beat Navy :)

Wow! Haven’t heard that in a while! Always amazes me, when you hear people from different parts of the country use terms or phrases that you grew up hearing, lol. Considering, how (technologically, not advanced) un connected I thought our parents generation was, than we are now.

I can't speak for everyone else but we NEVER stay with them. They are so expensive and we dont use the amenities they offer. They also have a lot of stuff geared towards kids which we no longer have at home.
I was wondering. I couldn't really get a straight answer out of them on membership and the discount when u arrived at the parks. We're like u no young children at home. So I bet will be doing alot of the dry docking. I like peace and quiet. Lol
There are a lot of other parks that are less expensive for full hookups.
How Do You Feel About Having A Gun or A Weapon For Self Defense?
I feel like that is a person choice by the RVer. Many RVers carry weapons for person safety.

What's the difference between Corps of Engineers land and BLM
BLM is run by the Bureau of Land Management and is considered owned by the people. It is raw undeveloped land that we can park on for free without hookups or services of any kind.
COE is run by the Army Corps of Engineers which falls under DOD. COE does a lot of public works usually on/near water. They also have many campgrounds that they manage which are amazing!!

BLM is all free open land with areas to stay. Corps of Engineers has actual parks similar to National parks and you have to pay.
