Keydrin, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. I had a brand new flash kept in my closet since 01/31/2020 and today when I opened the the brand new box and plugged in the battery it would not charge. I have followed your instructions (great video) and now I have 1 solid green light and looks promising. I will update this comment as time permits to let everyone know if I was successful in getting it going.
Totally appreciate your effort and time in putting a concisely and to the point video.
You’re so very welcome
This is one of the most valuable videos I've seen on TH-cam.
It helped me save my two batteries for the AD400 and 600 Pro.
Let me share a hack I used because I didn't have that trickle charger to jump-start the battery, so I used a car battery to do it, and it worked.
Thank you so much, Keydrin
Heck yeah
Worked brilliantly on two flat Flashpoint XPLOR600/Godox AD600 studio light batteries. In both cases, I was able to jump-start them using a third battery, the 20V rechargeable battery from my power drill, as the DC power source. Clipped leads to the positive and negative terminals of the drill battery, held the other ends to the contacts on the studio light battery as shown in the video for about four or five minutes, touched the two contacts with a fine-point tweezer, plugged in the charger, and voilà! Both batteries charged to 100% after a couple of hours. The only difference from the video is that I didn't bother to remove the circuit board or get a trickle charger; just holding the leads from the supply battery onto the contacts worked fine. Many thanks for a great video!
Thanks for this! I used a power drill as well and It worked perfectly!
Thank you so much. This video saved me a lot of money on sending the battery to external service for jumpstart (and I learned in the process). Bought a battery tender for 40$ and my Godox battery sprung back to life following your steps. Thank you so much. Made a contribution to you
Thank u so much! You didn’t have to do that
A lot of the videos out there don’t explain to jump the battery. They just say to tap the two brass connections to reset the battery. This was very helpful. You saved me $180
Glad we could help! Happy New Year
If the battery is not too deeply discharged, the reset on its own is sufficient. "Jumping" the battery is only needed if the voltage has dropped below a certain threshold.
Keydrin is a LIFE SAVER! I had a tricky battery that needed some extra attention. Keydrin.... thanks for being quick, efficient AND patient. You've gained a supporter for life.
Truly appreciate it! Glad i could be of help!
Thank you so much, Keydrin. It was so helpful. I made to bring my Godox Battery to life again.
Heck yeah! Glad I could help
Thanks for sharing this it really helped me out! I had 3 out of 6 batteries fully discharged within 2 months I feared a significant loss, but with the help of this video all are working again!
Heck yeah! Glad I could help!
@924PHOTOGRAPHY Can you please tell me the name of and where I can purchase the thinner red/black connector cables. I've checked Amazon, Auto Zone, Midas, and numerous electrical & hardware stores and can not seem to locate it .
Thank you for taking the time to share this information. Very helpful
Very welcome
Gday Keydrin, wanted to thank you for the video. Worked like a charm. Much appreciated.
You’re very welcome!
Hadn't charged my AD600 Pro since COVID (2 years with no gigs). Thanks for saving me $200.
You’re so very welcome
Lifesaver! Thank you VERY much for this informative and well-done video, Sir!
Glad i could help 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 very welcome
Excellent video Keydrin! Thank you so much!
Very welcome
Phenomenal information!
Thanks! I followed your instructions on my xplor 600 pro battery last night and it worked like a charm!
I wish that I had this info a couple of years ago when I tossed my original battery and purchased a new one, which was the one I fixed last night. But, if you don't know, you just don't know.
Thanks again!
I’m glad we were able to help you out !
I haven't had a problem, but figured let me check this out to orevent me from panicking if a problem happens, this is a very helpful video.
Thanks so much
Thank you Keydrin, today i have managed this problem, your video literraly has saved my battery, this is must have for all godox users
You’re so very welcome bro
Man keydrin your a lifesaver ! I was in a crunch and neeeded to order another one for a shoot ! Found your video followed and then reached out to you for additional support via insta and you guided me through getting this battery up and running !!! I appreciate it brotha 💪🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾💯💯💯
Heck yeah glad I could help
Dude, your video was spot on, other videos on you didn't work out, but the key was to give it a charge, and then reset it... and you totally knocked out of the park..... my batteries are charging up now....i went to the auto store got alligator 3.99 clips, and walmart and got a cheap charger.. $20.00 US dollars, way far better then paying 180.00
Hell yeah! Glad it worked out
Thank you for making this video. Using a battery tender/jump starter to boost the charge to 12v before reset is a critical step and you explained well. I followed your step to reset my battery successfully!
Heck yeah! Glad you were able to get it working.
Just saved me from tossing my old batteries that weren’t charging. Thanks, Keydrin!
Very welcome
Good Deal.....I needed this. I have only had mine 3 months.
Oh wow. Glad i could help
Thanks. It worked for me 100% exactly as shown.
Heck yeah!
Great info. Thanks! Now I'm ready if my battery decides to go to sleep. 🙂
Very welcome
Thank you! Totally worked for the FP light!
Very welcome
Thank you so much! Definitely appreciate your video!
Very welcome!
Worked for me! Thanks for sharing this information.
🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
just wanted to say thanks this worked a treat. I had to buy the charger but i get to keep that and it was half the price of a new battery. Mine had been unused for like 3 years so it took a good 10-15 mins on the trickle charger to come to life but it did and its now fully charged and I am very happy :D
Hell yeah! Glad it worked out
Thank you for the tutorial. It works as you demonstrated.
Very welcome
WOW Thank you my man, the little reset trick saved me loads
Hell yeah! Glad I could help
Thanks for the video! This also works for the AD400. I didn't need to use the battery tender and went right to jumping the two contacts, since my battery wasn't really discharged, just went to life-saver mode. I put this in the pile of things I shouldn't have to know, but GLAD I found your video. Godox needs to fix this IMHO.
Thanks so much! Glad it was helpful
Got my AD 600 Pro jump started. Thanks Keydrin and thanks TH-cam University.
Very welcome
Appreciate the video this tutorial saved me $169 and 2 days. Thanks for the video.
You’re so very welcome
This video was very helpful and it worked, keydrin was very helpful and walked me through it because I suck at electronics 😝
Glad I was able to help
Spent $35 on a tender instead of $200 on a new battery. Thank you for the tutorial!
And thank you to the random product review that told me to Google this instead of going straight for a new battery
You’re very welcome! I’m glad it worked out for you!
Great video. Just about to order a new battery. Thanks!
Thank u
Thanks for your explanation. I would like to say it also works for Godox WB-29 lithium battery for my Ad200.
Very welcome
Same here. Thanks Keydrin. Fan from Belgium.
Truly appreciate it
Thanks man!!! It work fabulous!!! God Bless You
Heck yeah!
Worked for me! Thank you man!
Very welcome
This was helpful, thank you!
Very welcome
Thank you so much. I followed the steps and now my godox is working.
Very welcome
I’m a big fan, I follow you on instagram.
Really appreciate it
Very good explanation. TY very much.
Very welcome
Great info, worked on my flashpoint xplor 600 pro... Thank you!
Heck yeah! Glad i was able to help!
@PaulSafford. I’m trying to do same for a flashpoint xplor 600 pro and it didn’t work. Any guidance as to what you did? I used the same batter tinder on the 12 volt lithium battery setting. I bought skinny black and red
wires with the mini clips and connected them to the larger ones. I did the rest buttons with tweazers but couldn’t rest
See if I’m supppsed to be pinching where the red wire connects to the silver button or if I just press down on the two silver buttons there. Not knowledgeable about this stuff so just want to make sure I exhausted all options before purchasing another battery.
1st Class video many thanks.
Really appreciate it
It worked!! Thank you so much! I was about to buy another battery..
You are truly welcome
Man you know your batteries! You save my bacon, I have a studio shoot this week and you are life saver. I do have one question, those two little holes are they reset buttons for the circuit board?
You have great day.
You’re very welcome! Yes, they are. Some have a button wired into some of the boards
This method worked for me when just trying the reset failed. You can find a similar battery charger to the one in the video for under $30. Thanks for the video!
Very welcome
🙏
What voltage did you use with the charger? & for how long?
6v for 5 mins
Link to the $30 one please!
You saved me a lot of money. Thanks.
Very welcome
Keydrin, you are a star!
🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Saved me! Thank you!
Fasho
Thanks Kendrin. Great info. I have a question about an older light, the AD360 ll ttl. If you know. Well, make that two questions.
1- can the battery from the AD360 series be reset like this?
2- I have three of the AD3600 ll’s. One of them the back Olight on the LCD screen has never come on. I’ve learned to live with it, but wondering if that is something that can be fixed. It would be nice to have the back light on that panel make it easier to read.
Just tried this. On a new battery that I let die to replace my original one. 🙄🤣 Wish I did my research before tossing the original one. Thanks for saving me some money!!
Heck yeah! Good deal
Hello from France. I confirm the battery works.for informations 6v not me but the charger must be 12v 5minutes . And i did the same operations that the vidéo.
Thank you very much. My battery was 2017...
Thank you for your comment! Glad it could help
Thanks Buddy!

@924PHOTOGRAPHY THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR RESPONDING!!! But I don't see the flat circular piece on the ones you suggested to me below. Will using the small silver clamp with the larger jumper clamp be possible? Will the current still be able to flow through? Should I just lay it flat in between the large clamp?
It should still flow fine. Will you send me a picture to my Instagram to see what flat piece you’re talking about
Thanks from Spain! You saved me at least 100€
You are truly welcome
Thank You!!! ❤
Absolutely
Thanks!
Thank you so much! You didn’t have to do that! I appreciate it
Great Video. Will try on my. Should the battery for ad400 should be the same way?
Yeah, just find the reset button
Hi from New Zealand, great video thanks. Just found this after mine failed for the first time. How often do you encounter this problem with the battery??
I’ve only encountered it once
Going to try it I will let you know I have a new godox ad 600 battery only use it 2 times and now it want take a charge thanks
Yep it should work fasho
THANK YOU!!!
Fasho
I’m about to do this. I’m sure I’ll have success by reading the comments here. We need to send this guy money
You don’t need to send me anything. Glad i could help
amazing
Thank u
Great tutorial! Can anything be done for the AD200 battery? Thanks.
Thank you, never tried that!
Can anyone say what exactly jumping those two contact points can do without having at least a minimum measurable charge on the battery? The charger has to see some minimum voltage before it can start charging so that little boost from the tender should provide that. Great video gets the job done. Tnx.
Connecting the two small contact points resets the battery electronics. That, on its own, can sometimes be sufficient to make the battery work again. Charging the battery as presented here, is only necessary, if the battery has lost too much charge for the reset to work on its own.
Thanks for this. You saved me today. Also I’m getting rid of this Godox garbage. I wonder why no one mentions it on TH-cam. The products specially an expensive one like the Ad600 shouldn’t have this problem. As a brand Godox is absolutely trash.
You’re very welcome.
If you say godox is trash, you kinda pushing it. Yes, you can have your opinion about it but way too many upcoming photographers, mid level, and professional photographers are using their produc. They have come a long way to offer great performance for low price compare to the other so called high end brands.
@@Bigricky06 Hey, I use them myself but only cause I’m saving up for the profoto sets. The reason I hate Godox is all of their flashes have a problem. The v1 can’t fire over 1/32 and overheats too much. Not good for weddings. All my shooters hate it. We miss too many shots. The AD600 pro has this battery issue. More than a few times the battery died and I had to use this hack to jump start it. Not good for paid work. I have been shooting for 10+ years and the way we shoot has changed. Camera gear has advanced so much that you need added stability with your lights. Godox has failed me too many times.
Everyone’s style and projects are different. I can’t have my lights dying on me at the most unexpected times. Not to mention that the power output fluctuates too much for commercial branding work. So until I can put in 6-7k towards a profoto setup, I have no choice.
And this is where Godox excels. Low price point makes everyone be able to buy them. And I appreciate them as a brand for doing this. Funny thing is, the issues they have are just poor software and quality control.
I have a pocket size battery jumper for my kia soul, can I use that for the positive and negative poles like you did in this video?
Thanks for this video, I thought my stobe was broken.. I forgot to buy some smaller alligator clips, so i bent some staples to make the connection.
Heck yeah! Glad it helped
thank you so much, any idea why 4 amps trickle charge
You saved my battery
🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Hey!
I can’t purchase the battery tender 4amp in the UK. Is there any advice as to which alternative I could get? I suppose the setting for the jump starters has to be on lithium battery? And if so is there a certain voltage for it?
Not done this before so don’t want it exploding in my face 😅
The new versions of the AD600 battery has been updated. The contacts where you placed the tweezers has been replaced with a small push button. All you needed to do is push the button. The battery charger wasn’t necessary to wake the battery.
Ok bet, that’s good to know. Thank you!
Do you still need to open the case of the battery to get to that reset button? I just purchased a new evolve pro 600 so I don’t think I’ll need to deal with this for quite a while, but it’s great to know how to do this
Oops I meant Xplor pro 600
Thanks for this video. I would love to know if there's a way to jump start a godox VB18 battery.
Very welcome, i would contact Cheetahstand and ask they would know that for sure
Nice video 👍 Does this principle work with an old AD600B battery too? I have one which was unused about half an year and does not work now. It behaves a little different than in this video, test button flashes red light quickly and charger seems to charge it to the full four green charger lights but battery just blinks red. Is that battery trash now or could I try this same prodecure with it?
That I’m not sure of, contact Cheetahstand and ask as they repair them and can probably give you guidance
Just tried this just now and it worked. Though it cost me $70 to get the battery tender, I save $110 from purchasing the $180 battery. Don't throw out your batteries! Try this instead!
🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
I’m having the same issue but with my Godox AD300 Pro strobe, completely different battery lawd I hope Godox can help me out 😂 I haven’t touched my light in months because I got into natural light portraits and let the studio light work fall to the wayside
Hit up cheetahstand and they can get you right. Ask for Ruben.
thanks
Thank u
Thanks
Absolutely
@Keydrin Question for ya. For the Godox Flashpoint Battery reboot, I have noticed that my 600 Pro battery has 2 small wires going from one one side of the board to the other with white glue. I'm assuming that you removed the 2 wires and the white glue very carefully in order to access the 2 holes for the battery reset.
Send me a picture on instagram if you don’t mine. If it wires then there should be a reset button on the board.
@@924PHOTOGRAPHY Thanks for the reply. There is no reset button on it. Your video is amazing and definitely helped out a lot as I was able to reset the AD600 pro battery to get to charge again. I think that maybe someone soldered those two wires to the board and used a lot of glue, so maybe the factory did it. Instead of the 2 holes, I just took a small paperclip and held it down at the 2 points where the 2 wires are making contact with the board where the holes should it be and it worked after using a battery tender. Thanks again!!!
Thank you for the info!..so is this a "long term" fix?..or do you have to keep doing this to the "bad battery"..How is the battery long term?..is it working regularly and charging correctly now?..after this "reset and jumpstart"..thank you
I’ve only had to do it one time so far. Just store your batteries at half power if you’re not going to use them for a while.
@@924PHOTOGRAPHY appreciate the reply..really considering grabbing a AD600pro for a while...also thought about the Flashpoint brand/Adoramas' equivalent to this flash XPLOR600..have you heard of the same issue with those Flashpoint XPLOR 600?..
@@ldmndz4652 i haven’t but I’ve always used Godox
For anyone without a separate trickle charger, I plugged the battery into the proprietary charger and touched the reset points noted in this video with the tweezers and it started charging. It’s about half way charged now. Hoping this worked!
I did this today and it worked !! Used proprietary charger and hold at the reset button for couple of seconds. It’s all good to go Thank you
I also just shorted the posts after plugging the battery into the original charger, and it's charging right now! Thanks so much Keydrin for this fantastically helpful video. Saved me a lot of money and anguish.
Do you mean we just need to plug-in the regular wb26 charger and touch the two points (holes) with tweezers. Please correct me if I’m wrong. :/
¿Quieres decir que solo necesitamos enchufar el cargador wb26 normal y tocar los dos puntos (agujeros) con unas pinzas? Por favor corrígeme si estoy equivocado. :/
@@bradleyaaron
Which reset button?
Wowwww
"All you need is these three things" . . . 10 screws in and all of a sudden I need a trickle charge. Thanks for the tutorial.
Thanks. I don't have one, but if I did, I would know how to reset one. Thanks.
Heck yeah
This works for AD400 battery too. It’s a little different but same concepts.
Heck yeah
Will this process work for VB18? Bought three of them about two years ago, tested them, then have not touched them. Now of course I need them and only one of the batteries is charging. The other two are red-light only on the charger.
Mr Franklin!! I kept my battery charged for 24 hours Then I unplugged the charger from the power source a few times & Boom the battery started charging. If you peoples have some time try that Method.
Heck yeag
Can you do a video with the ad400 battery bc the battery that you are fix are different thanks
So is this still an issue if you purchase a GODOX AD600Pro now? 2024 lol ..or did Godox actually fix this problem? in the "newer/recent" production run?
I’m not sure on that. I haven’t had anymore issues since i jumped mine and store it at about half power.
Hello Keydrin. I just saw your video for the 600.. Is this the same process for the 400? My battery is completely dead.
Yeah it’s the same. Message me on ig and I’ll send you the 400 battery image if i still have it
This worked for 2 of my three lights. Two have been tested and are fully functional. The third appeared to work, but after fully charging I unplugged from power, pushed the Charge Level button and got nothing. Tried putting it on the body to see if maybe LED lights just didn’t work, but got nothing. Retried all parts of method in video. When I touch charger wires to positive and negative plates inside the cover, four steady lights light up on the charging wire box, suggesting it’s fully charged. I’ve tried it a couple more times with same/no effect. Any suggestions?
Hey, the cheetahstand guy that fixes them say that one could have a bad board or a bad Capacitor. You can send that one in to get him to fix it. Contact them at www.cheetahstand.com or just call Ruben.
How much voltage did you put onto the positive and negative points? I need to set my battery charger to that voltage.

Hello Keydrin - forgive my ignorance: I purchased the same model battery tender however the connectors are huge and chunky and won't fit on the battery +/- connectors. Your connectors are long and skinny, perfect for this application. Do you have a link to where your purchased your battery tender? Thanks
I just bought the alligator clips to go with it
@@924PHOTOGRAPHY Oh, thanks so much; off to research :)
@@924PHOTOGRAPHY Thanks again for the detailed video and my big brother; the alligator clips didn't work so my brother ditched them and after 6 minutes at 12v, my battery charger displayed a solid green. I am a happy camper :)

Would this work if the batter stopped taking a charge after being dropped ? The battery still has life & is powering the strobe, but it’s not taking a charge
It could, but not sure on that. Only way is to test it. If you do please let me know how it goes
I have godox v860 iii flash. One day battery was showing low on the battery indicator on Flash. I plugged in for 3.5 hours (it gets full charge with the given time in general).
But when I re-insert it's still showing low on flash but on charger it's green.
Not sure what happened. Being a hobby photographer I don't use flash more often.
Any suggestions please?
Yeah, I’m not sure on that, contact Cheetahstand. They do repairs on those things. Ruben maybe able to help you.
That's cool but damn so inconvenient if that's what's happening with these batteries. Would it be better to continue charging every week even if not in use to avoid this from happening?
He said all you have to do is just plug it in once a week for 1min and it will be fine
@@924PHOTOGRAPHY thank you!
Manny- any rechargeable lithium battery can have this issue if you let it get completely discharged. 40-60% level is optimal for long term if unused. And those batteries discharge very very slowly if they’re healthy
The notch tweezer thing needed a close up
