Dude. You are a life saver. Others had videos with a real deal temp charger to jumpstart batteries. But I couldn’t find one in upper Cuba (Miami). So I ran to Walmart and grabbed an analog light meter, some black tape, wire cutters, and the only wire I could find. Lamp cord replacement. I felt like McGuyver as I pieced together this truly ghetto setup and was able to wake my AD400PRO battery up. It’s now charging. Total investment, around 40 bucks. Thank you!!!
I didn't get any usefull "what-to-do-if-it-doesn't-function" tips from youtube so far, but your video helped me, so I don't need to buy a new battery. Thank you so much !!!
This did the trick! I used a $1.88 pair of low voltage cables with small clamps on the end, purchased from Wal-Mart in the automotive electrical aisle. I pulled (literally pulled with my hand, no tool) one clamp off one end to twist and insert into the charger center. I used the clamp on the other cable to clamp to the outside. I then just touched the two clamps on the opposite ends to the contacts-exactly as shown here. After a minute or so of energized contact, the battery had sufficient charge to communicate with the charger via the usual charging plug.
Worked perfectly!!! Only comment is that you need to be very clear about where the inner plug wire goes to the terminal towards the front on left (when cells face you) the outer plug wire to the terminal on outer right side if you’re looking at the battery cells. Watch the video to be sure as it can kill your battery. But thanks for making this awesome video for an easy fix
Thank you for saving me $170 !!!! It worked , I actually left if charging this way for at least an hour because I only had red light blinking. After an hour, it started showing green charging lights..
This was perfect. I've got 4 AD400Pro units and only really use 1 in my studio. Looked at the other 3 and all 3 batteries were hibernating. This trick has gotten them up and charging again. Barely took me 30 mins to get to the point where all 3 could charge on their own again. I know Godox offer a service where they basically do exactly this but charge 50 bucks for it! So a thousand thank yous! 🤟
Thanks man, it worked like a charm. I didn't use a voltmeter though, I would monitor the charger LEDs and did short charging sessions, 1 minute at a time. After 3 to 4 minutes the charger started to go from irregular LED charging pattern to regular. Once I hooked it all back up, it started to charge as usual. Thanks again, just saved me a trip to battery shop and their charges and/or a new battery.
Thank you so much for this video - the best bit is that you use the actual Godox charger. I revived a battery that had been dead for at least a couple of years.
thank you so much for this video ♥️ it fixed my ad400 battery issue. I didn't use the ad400 Adapter. instead I had a small projecta 2200ma 12v car trickle charger. connected the round terminals with cables to the positive and negative and lined them upto the positive and negative terminals on the battery. took 2 minutes to get it to around 15-6 reading on the multimeter. I then just used tweezers to reset the battery on the circuit board just in case and it worked without a hitch. saved me a lot of money as this happened on more than one Battery
Thanks this worked like a charm, just did short charges and waited for the green lights to have a pattern and held it for a few minutes while the lights had a normal pattern.
Thanks, I didn't do the DIY I just brought a battery maintainer, and I already had a multimeter and it worked. Save me from buying another battery thinking this one was gone. It was like a jump start didn't take long to get it going.
@@brendadanielseguale8204 Yeah the one I brought was made by Viking model 63350. I got it at my neighborhood hardware store for $33. I already had a Multimeter by Kaiweets Model km601
Also, Viking will tell you what the voltage is as it charges. Didn't really have to use the multimeter with it. So I just did what he did with the circle terminals.
So I did this for ours and its now charging . I kept the casing off for a bit to make sure it's not getting hot .I want to know the pack isn't messed up. Thanks for the video .I have a drone pack that wont charge .Going to see if this works for it too.
i got the battery to 18Volts and having the 2 wires connected to battery terminal, i saw the charger lights to start charging sequence. I was happy, then connected the plug to the battery socket AAND nothing.. charger power led stays on, but nothing else. measured the voltage at the plug pins.. its the charger output voltage... measured voltage also on the battery + and - terminals and it reads the same voltage 18volts as i jump started it. Can there be some fuses or something on the logic board? Charging volltage is definately not reaching the battery cells.
Thank you so much for this Video. I am finding it hard to know the connections of my wb 400p batteries. It fell from something and everything scattered
about 15-25 minutes but I didn't have the wires connected to the battery that whole time. I did it in small amounts and kept checking the voltage with the multimeter.
I tried your method and kinda worked. Before the led on the battery was off, after I tried your method the led started to blink, but still wouldn’t work on the charged so I tried charging more and the red light became solid I even tried on the Flash and it turned on, but it still isn’t working on the charger. Do I have to charger more? I did for about 7-10 minutes
@@LessandroBarbosa It could be that the battery is damaged internally. Me myself, I would try charging it more but I would be safe when attempting it. Eye wear / face shield, full sleeves, well ventilated area, container of sand etc.. But that's only what I would do.
What’s the significance of getting to the 16v before you went back to the charger? Is there some minimum it needs to get to? Anyways I tried it & works a treat. You just saved me $250 bucks! Thanks 🙏 heaps! Subscribed. 👍
You're welcome, and thanks for leaving the comment. Apparently the minimum voltage for the battery pack is 16 volts. Any less than that and the charger will not charge it.
Thanks man, that was the easiest way of all youtube vids.
Yes it was.
It was the only way.

This absolutely saved me! Thank you for putting this up
WOOOO! FIXED! Thanks dude!
My charger is working. The battery gets full charged. But when i put it to the light it doesn't get one. Can i try this and see??
🔋Thank you so much! Thank you so much!🔋

what if you bought a new battery but the same problem exists could it be the charger and not the battery?

Exactly the same here. Did you find a fix in the end @vahurix1?
Thank you so much for this Video.

How long did it take you to get to minimum charge?
about 15-25 minutes but I didn't have the wires connected to the battery that whole time. I did it in small amounts and kept checking the voltage with the multimeter.
