Answer My Question: Ball Head Yes or No?

Should you use a ball head for your star adventure? Many say no. some say yes. But who is right and why?
Personally, I don't use a ball head, and using one is a recipe for throwing away a lot of data because of flexure, bad balancing and general instability. It also makes difficult to use long telephoto lenses and small refractors.
but that is me and while are objective issues, as long as you don't damage the mount by using heavy unbalanced payload, do whatever you are comfortable doing. Maybe you are a beginners and you find difficult not to use a ball head... you will learn in time and by experience what is better for your astrophotography.
