Superbly presented...thank you! Your well detailed presentation is a modern update similar to the classic CG5 "Astronomy Boy" mount tune-up. Either Pete's Red Grease from ScopeStuff (Texas/USA) or white lithium from the hardware store are both improvements on the thick and sticky Chinese goop. Clear skies!
Many thanks!
Excellent video! Thanks :)
Excellent video. Thanks for making and sharing. Subscribed 👍
Awesome, thank you!
Andrea, thanks for those videos :D
Thanks for watching them
Pro tip: Pre-squeeze out the grease and then use a brush instead of your finger to apply the grease. Then you don't have to be concerned about inadvertently getting grease on the contact/friction parts of the clutch, or making a mess in general.
Thanks. I did mention one should use a brush or something like so but This was more "for the show" that a real re-greasing 😬
Awesome video. Ive noticed my SWSA V1 will randomly stop tracking, usually after a stong temperaure change, although that might just be a coincidence. I plan on trying this, but have you heard of this happening? The lights dont flash, it just appears to stop tracking.
I finally took mine apart was surprised by the play in the 3 drive gears. I do realize that there must be some play, otherwise they'd be locked up from the start. But, I've been wondering how much this contributes to the inconsistent tracking quality I see in my subs, even within a single session. Thoughts? Is packing with grease part of the solution? I did notice that the ring gear and bearings have a decent amount of grease from the factory. But the worm gear seems to only have what it collected from the ring and the drive gears are dry. I was surprised by that.
For the grease, would high temp brake grease work? It's what I have readily available since I service my own vehicles.
Great video thanks ! Do you have any plans to do the same for the new Star Adventurer GTi ?
Sorry no. I do videos of my gear only and I have no plan to get the SA GTI as I moved to larger mounts now
De que material son los dientes del engranaje de la corona, metal o plástico ? Muchas gracias.
all metal
17:35 .. look like you have some back lack... ie. It wobbles a bit when clutch is tight..
yes I had backlash.. on purpose. there is a whole video on how to remove the backlash :)
@@andreaminoia2002 thanks, yes I watched your video and fixed my backlash!
