My mother wants me to tell you, "thank you" for your VLOGS. She really likes them. She had a stroke a few years ago and I take care of her full time. This is like an escape for her and you're her 'tour guide' for LA. She really likes Jah, and so do I!

The Black Dahlia saved my life twenty five years after she died. I was born and raised in Hollywood, but had never heard of the case until I was her exact age when she died. The case was being covered in a local magazine and the horror of it was unimaginable. At the same time as I was reading about it, with pictures, there were very loud knocks at my apartment door at 11 p.m.! I could tell by the height of the knock it was our very large building maintenance man, who gave me the creeps. Normally, being stupid and naive, I would have answered the door. Next morning there was some mail he had delivered to my door, probably hoping I would open it. I moved the next day because this guy had a master key to my apartment! Shortly thereafter, he murdered a young girl who also lived there who looked just like me. God bless you, Elizabeth Short.

I love the grimey side of Hollywood.

I think the raindrops on the window added to the sadness and gloom of the story. I remember looking at the crime scene photos (full-on horror) in my copy of Hollywood Babylon....mixture of shock and sadness. You did a great job on this senseless crime...this is most likely why many mothers told their daughters to steer clear of Hollywood.

I wonder how the home owners feel when people are standing in front of their house discussing a dead body that was found there - I would be spooked. I had heard about this but never had so many details - good vlog Jordan!

The rain actually added to the sadness and mysterious of the story. Hodel's son, who was an LA homicide detective, believes his father was not only the Black Dahlia killer but the Zodiac Killer. I pictured some person living in that house on the spot where Elizabeth Short's body was found having no clue and looking out the window thinking "What is all this fascination with the corner of my lawn?" 😂

The Black Dahlia was from my home town of Medford, Massachusetts. She was a Medford Mustang. If you go back, could you put a flower on her grave for me? I can send you money.

Actually I thought the rain added a little mystery to the presentation. It certainly made for more authentic cityscape Amazing how this little tale has such staying power . Thanks

Seeing the homeless tents on the sidewalks is disgusting to witness.

I was born in Medford, MA, the city my parents were from and Elizabeth Short was from. My dad lived on the same street as her, he was a couple of years younger than her and knew her sister. My dad was in the Navy during WWII and was in LA for a while. But he said he never went to the Hollywood Canteen. He did meet a few stars. Humphrey Bogart, Ray Bolger, Ward Bond.

I was so obsessed with this case at one point I even went to visit L.A. And stayed in the Millenium Biltmore.
