I bought a 90 Wopper Plopper at Academy Academy Sports Warehouse. High dollar for me. $12.99. Drove a hr and a half to get to Terre Haute. From Indianapolis. Tried it finally at a small pond. First cast. Bam!!!!!!! 3 pounder then caught 11 more in 40 minutes. Topwater flurry! Oh! What fun! Then tried another pond on the first cast lost the Wopper Plopper. I was damn mad about it no way to retrieve it back. But, Man. What a 40 minutes. I am hooked on the Wopper Plopper now. Tried to buy more. Shawn
I’ve been watching whopper plopper videos on TH-cam for a couple of years now. I finally went to Academy Sports earlier in the year and I caught my PB bass on a whopper plopper 90. I am sold on the effectiveness of the River2Sea lures.
Yup, the Whopper Plopper series has been amazing for me as well...Smallmouth in rivers and lakes, largemouth in lakes and pike in rivers and plenty of large fish. I sometime have to force myself to start with or change baits because of the success I've had with the various sizes. I'm also a believer that the color is far secondary to WP's action/sound when attracting fish.
I took my Sun Dolphin Sportsman mini bass boat out last night on a small local lake and I caught 5 bass and 1 crappie on a whopper plopper 90 in a little under 2 hours of fishing. The plopper is king!!!
Another nice numbers vid! I picked up a Plopper 90 in loon from Angler's express after work today. Hit up a small local pond and it delivered on the second cast a nice chunky 3lber.
what a "TRULY BEAUTIFUL BLACK CRAPPIE" Yellow stripe down the belly,,,,nice! I just found a 90 whopper plopper in the Tule's the other day....I'll try it this weekend! but our waters 44 and 3-6in visibilty...we need sun! cheers from Idaho
That looked like a blast. I have caught them like that a few times. When i was stationed in Texas. I heard you mention being in Illinois, that is where I live. A lot of little small pond fish all around. Have fun! God Bless
I've had many a day/nite like you just had at my brother n laws 4 acre pond in middle Kansas. I just got a couple of whopper plopper 90's and a couple torpedos and the bass smash them. Caught over 30 in a day a couple of times, mostly in the 2 - 3 lb range. Biggest one so far has been a little over 4 1/2 lbs caught in some weeds about 3 ft from shore. Fantastic lure my favorite!
im just now started using a whopper plopper but no luck yet, had two strikes but no hook up cant wait till spring during spawn here in north florida area. small ponds are exceptional for bass fishing and even the creeks here have big ole five pound bass.
Love the action. I had a morning like that this morning. I was throwing a chatter bait mini and caught great numbers. The morning was topped off by a 3.84 pound largemouth. This was my PB.
Awesome video. I've never caught a top water fish so I would love a night like that. Going tomorrow at 445 in the morning to try for my first one here in California.
I'm down here in Fla. and It's nothing to go to a pond and get a 5-8lb bass, but I have only ever caught like 8 in one spot on the same lure... Awesome video man! I'll go with numbers over size! ...and you don't have to worry about the gators up there.
I have a little honey hole over here in the broward county area, I pull out 8&9's almost all day on a good day and of course some dinks but that's only natural right?
Love your videos man. So refreshing from the others on YT. I'm going up to the Ozarks early April and this video definitely convinced me to bring a bunch of these whopper ploppers! This will kill it on my private lake in Jersey also. Good stuff, keep up the good work!
great video love how your bout having fun with fishing and not vlogging bout ur favorite socks for 15 min before u get to fishing...but anyways I just tried this lure for first time hoping to catch my first smallie and man they crushed it and got 8 smallies and one was 2lb 4oz...I was so stoked... great bait and video keep them coming
sup dude. just want to say i got some mono on my bait caster since i asked you what i should get. cought my first bass on my bait caster with a jig. i can honestly say i it will be hard to go to a spinning real again. keep up the great vids bro.
Bought a 90 and 130 Whopper Plopper Munky butt . I am fishing this evening.A young fisherman was using a 130 this morning and was hooking some large Excellent bass . Hope it works for me this evening and Tomorrow morning . Fish on . From the 71/2 decade fisherman.
Illinois spring fishing is like this. Especially in clear water. I've had plenty of days like this but I've never caught a monster. I'd take the 8lber any day
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say the whopper plopper needs to be added to my arsenal!? but they're like 15 bucks lol don't know if I trust my casting accuracy all that well
Hooper_c4 u worth every penny watch videos from the TH-cam channel tacticalbassin those guys explain everything from the goods to the bass on everything
I bought one whooper plooper, took it out and never looked back. I use the 75, 90, 130 and have one tackle tray just for them. I often catch bigger bass than I am getting on a senko bite.
I've had great success using the whopper plopper in yoda color 90...after watching your video I had to go out and get the monkey but...yeah I just said that....gonna use it this weekend...great video....
Little tip that I’m sure you know, but when your fishing top water it’s best to let the fish take the bait a few more seconds than normal before setting the hook. That’s why you missed that first bass, the hook set was a little to quick.
That applies to a frog so the bass can start to swallow the lure but since a whopper plopper has treble hooks it is just a reaction hookset instead of the wait 2 seconds and set
i always enjoy your videos man. The Cali Kid aprroves lol. I enjoy numbers, alot, but theres nothing like catching your PB. Mine is 6.9lbs on the trusty old dropshot with Aarons Magic roboworm
the whopper plopper is the best lure on the market today in my opinion I caught me four 4lb smallies and probably 20+ 3 lbrs. was a epic day. hope to have video up asap. keep pulling them be safe
Nice man you tore them up on that 90. I'd say I would rather catch the big 8 pounder than catching a large amount of smaller bass but then again it's still fun. Great vid man. I'd love to get together with you bro.
I would like the numbers but at the same token anybody would love that one 8-pounder....nice fishing .... I have a few Whopper ploppers and hands down they work great love them ....
Putting in work with Plopper! Goin to grab one and try it but dude you have to try the Double Plopper! That buzzbait really has impressed me. Try it out.
Yes man! The double plopper has been working great for me on lakes! Catches some quantity, but mostly quality!!! And I thought it would be like super expensive but it's only like 16 bucks. Can't beat it for its quality.
+Clayboss101 agree with you on quality. I bought it last Friday, went fishing the next day with perfect conditions for topwater. Lake water level was up 2ft from rain storms previous days, overcast, banks were flooded, nice chop on the water from winds...2nd cast I hooked into a 4lb bass easily and 3 cast later a solid chunk 3lb. It really won me over with the fact that it floats. Opens up new ways to fish a buzzbait.
+ChiCityYaker yeah, it floats for sure. That saved me. I made a bad case with my braid and it snapped and went flying. Sure enough a few yards down was my Buzzbait. Saved me!
+Clayboss101 lol lucky. Try dead-buzzing it...it's the name I made for the technique. Reel 2x's...pause 3-5secs...repeat till its out of the strike zone. Found it works when bass are lazy.
I have to go with one 8 pounder, LOL That would be an awesome Personal Best! Great video man lots of catches is always fun to watch. Looking forward to throwing my WP this weekend. I have a 90 Yoda pattern. Tight Lines.
Great vid man. I went a bought the whopper plopper in ghost and my second cast i caught a 2 pounder in a kayak first time kayak fishing also. That thing catches em. Keep the vids coming.
+Wes Bartlett yeah, kayaks are super fun and easy to take places. But I got a little boat (looks a lot like the pelican bass raider 10 e) with a trolling motor. Man it's fun. But I started the summer with a kayak at my lake and loved it. But since my uncle lended me his boat I couldn't give it a rest.
+Wes Bartlett yeah, I know what you mean. The little trolling motor takes a while to go across the lake but it's better than not being able to fish at all.
My first thought was DAMN IT MAN! As I listened to you wanting A big one , my second thought was not going to happen those fish are stunted. Too many mouths to feed in such small water. I've been there Needs managing keep few or relocate just a thought..
+SouthernViking look up live target hollow body sun fish. They're around $12.99. The smaller version seems to work better for me, but I just walk it sorta fast on top of muck and grass and works great!
My biggest bass was actually a 7lb smallmouth. My biggest largemouth was 6lbs. So yea I would have to take the 8lb largemouth this time. Gotta make it right! Lol got the smallmouth on a big arbogast jitterbug on an early very cloudy morning just as it was getting light. The water was a river and it was high and fast but I'm a top water junkie so I was there. Found a break in the fast moving water along a walk that bent and I got her 2 feet away from the walk. I immediately was in the water cause I had no net and wasn't about to risk losing that big of a smallmouth by pulling it up the sid of the walkway and rail.
I've caught more and bigger bass on a Whopper plopper #90 then any other size.its my go to lure always.
I bought a 90 Wopper Plopper at Academy Academy Sports Warehouse. High dollar for me. $12.99. Drove a hr and a half to get to Terre Haute. From Indianapolis. Tried it finally at a small pond. Damn this gets me pumped for those late summer nights.
Give me 1 5lber !!! Great vid and that bait whacks em here in South Texas as well
Yup, the Whopper Plopper series has been amazing for me as well...Smallmouth in rivers and lakes, largemouth in lakes and pike in rivers and plenty of large fish. I sometime have to force myself to start with or change baits because of the success I've had with the various sizes. I'm also a believer that the color is far secondary to WP's action/sound when attracting fish.
I've had the same experience with the Whopper plopper 90 at a lil pond.
Love the whopper plopper action!!! Great video. Keep it up
THX!
Just got done buying 6 whopper plopper 90's and look forward to trying them out tonight!
You are one of the only ambidextrous fisherman I know, I would love to have that ability it would be so much easier while real hunting
I took my Sun Dolphin Sportsman mini bass boat out last night on a small local lake and I caught 5 bass and 1 crappie on a whopper plopper 90 in a little under 2 hours of fishing. The plopper is king!!!
Love the vids, Cornell. Nothing more fun than a topwater evening of that many fish!
Thanks! No doubt...
looks like that you may have an over population problem with so many small bass. You might want to take some of them out and let the others get big
I love catch a big one but numbers always fun especially when the topwater is kill in' it !! Great video!!
Thanks!
Pretty cool . TOP water bits can't beat it.
Thanks & nope, you can't!
Another nice numbers vid! I picked up a Plopper 90 in loon from Angler's express after work today. Hit up a small local pond and it delivered on the second cast a nice chunky 3lber.
Thanks Frank! Well done...

I've had many a day/nite like you just had at my brother n laws 4 acre pond in middle Kansas. I just got a couple of whopper plopper 90's and a couple torpedos and the bass smash them. Love the action. I had a morning like that this morning. I was throwing a chatter bait mini and caught great numbers. The morning was topped off by a 3.84 pound largemouth. This was my PB.

I'm down here in Fla. and It's nothing to go to a pond and get a 5-8lb bass, but I have only ever caught like 8 in one spot on the same lure... Awesome video man!

Whooper Plopper is the heat

I just bought a whopper plopper. I'm ready to try it out. Hopefully get good results also.
Nice! Good luck...

Got my whopper plopper from Bezos today. I'm definitely stopping on the way home from work tomorrow.

I would like the numbers but at the same token anybody would love that one 8-pounder....nice fishing .... I have a few Whopper ploppers and hands down they work great love them ....

I’ve caught a 8.8 pounder out a lake the other day with the I know it whopper plopper love it

You'll love it!

Yes it would!!! Thanks...go get 'em!!! May the force be with you... ; )
+TH-camFISHINGVIDS Just used the whopper plopper yesterday and caught a nice one
J Lee Good job!!!
Great vid man. I went a bought the whopper plopper in ghost and my second cast i caught a 2 pounder in a kayak first time kayak fishing also. That thing catches em. Keep the vids coming.
Nice man! Gotta love kayak fishing, did he pull your kayak much?
ya turned me a bit and pulled me about 5ft. After that I am hooked and am looking to get a kayak.
+Wes Bartlett yeah, kayaks are super fun and easy to take places. But I got a little boat (looks a lot like the pelican bass raider 10 e) with a trolling motor. Man it's fun. But I started the summer with a kayak at my lake and loved it. But since my uncle lended me his boat I couldn't give it a rest.
nice I am hoping to get a tracker pro team 195 in the next year or so... the lakes around me are huge and need a boat to do any good fishing.
+Wes Bartlett yeah, I know what you mean. The little trolling motor takes a while to go across the lake but it's better than not being able to fish at all.
My first thought was DAMN IT MAN! As I listened to you wanting
A big one , my second thought was
not going to happen those fish are stunted. Too many mouths to feed in such small water. I've been there
Needs managing keep few or relocate just a thought..
love your videos man! and would love to fish with you very knowledgeable!
THX!
I would have to take the 8 pounder... That would be a sick personal best. Love your vids and tips, Cornell.
I hope you get 'em soon! Thanks man!
I have one plopper 90 that lure is a killer machine 🖒
love the video! What a great pond!
Thanks!!!
I like the big bass myself. However if I can't get on'em a night like that don't hurt once in a while.
i bought a whopper plopper first time out within a 1/2 hr i had 4 fish from 1.6lbs to 3lbs love this lure
Nice!!! Awesome isn't it???!
+TH-camFISHINGVIDS this is now my go to lure
i need this lure so bad!!!!!! ty for this video, I'd never heard of the whopper plopper..😂😂😂😂
Yes you do!!! LOL...
No problem!
Numbers over size, especially if they're hitting top water! Whopper plopped is a great bait
I would like the 8 Pounder but I would take that night for sure. Their has to be a big one in there, get him the next time you go back.
I'm sure there is too!!! I'll definitely be back for her...
Dude crappie on the popper AWESOME
nice bass fishin'! have you tried shads yet?
Good hookup to strike ratio or really good editing :)
Crazy good hook up ratio! No editing required. The only one I missed was one you saw at the beginning and even that tiny dink found a hook!!!
Always been a frog guy but I think I may invest in some whopper ploppers!!!! Good video brother!!!!
Have you tried the sunfish? For me, I'd throw a sun fish over a frog any day, but that's just me. But whopper plopper is great for open water!
+Clayboss101 Noni haven't brother, you mean like a small swimbait?
+SouthernViking look up live target hollow body sun fish. They're around $12.99. The smaller version seems to work better for me, but I just walk it sorta fast on top of muck and grass and works great!
+Clayboss101 will do thanks bri
Good plan! Thanks bud...
Numbers are gd, but deep down inside u want that big one! Great video dude.
Thanks!!!
I immediately was in the water cause I had no net and wasn't about to risk losing that big of a smallmouth by pulling it up the sid of the walkway and rail.
awesome I would rather catch all those then the big one nice job
I see you got left and right handed bait casters. Want to buy one but they don't feel the same as an open face. Any suggestions on one to get?
So much FUN! Great !! How many did you get ? 345? Lol great great video!
LOL! Maybe, I lost count! Thanks man...
Dude that was a good vid I would like to have caught what you did great pond
Thank Lane!
Hey man great video! what editing software?
Sony Vegas...
Are you fishing Octoraro tournament in the morning? If so I'll see ya there!
Unfortunately not! I'm still in Chicago for a wedding. Good luck!!!
On a 90 would you recommend a monkey butt or bluegill pattern whopper plopper
I weather had the night you have because I am not caughting in my home town Lynchburg Va. It no where to fish at!
wow nice ! new sub searcher the bait and it was epic, great stuff
Thanks bud!!!
