They direct sound forward, not upward. They’re angled roughly 45deg. Think of what angle a mirror 45deg would do to a light source directed downward.

Granted the book is a lot more technical than Boston's, I gotta say this sounds a WHOLE lot muddier than Boston right now.
They don't prioritize cleanliness early season, just wait and you can make a fair comparison later

Everything is just rammed and fast. No musicality. This is the problem with modern day DCI. This style needs to die. I'm not a boomer.

Saying that when this is literally a reflection of mid-2000s and early 2010s style book is funny. But also, there were plenty of parts that literally had musicality also literally their book last year was pure musicality as well. I wouldn't stress about BD for one time having moments in the book where they are playing fast and have notes. Literally the Cadets and Phantom back in the day rammed to another level before modern DCI.
@@BerserkRain Music does not need percussion to be busy like this. I swear if GenZ had to play the National Anthem, they'd ram beats all throughout it. Sometimes less is more. But not for these kids. That's why your shows are incredibly boring and stupid. No large and evolving marching forms. Park and blow. Battery just ramming.

“you couldn’t play those beats if you tried”, yeah yeah I don’t care. cope with someone having a different opinion. all bd ever does is field beats that lack musicality and cleanliness. they may be super technical, but it’s awful for the vast majority of the season. it’s honestly pitiful.
i love bringing other people down over the internet! maybe instead of sitting alone in your basement being a keyboard warrior and dogging on people for not being perfect 100% of the time, you could instead applaud these people for the work they’ve put in! just a thought!

this is the problem with society nowadays, people like you want participation trophies and handouts. “Just applaud them” - absolutely not. Not when the bar has been consistently raised over the years by not only them, but other corps as well. You can’t just field garbage and expect me or others to automatically give a round of applause for doing something difficult, but doing it really bad at the same time.
That’s not drum corps. The standard is the standard, and I will not disrespect the activity by lowering my standards.
