Solid! While there are some corps considerably ahead at this moment, there is a ton of potential in this show. By far the most solid I have ever seen the troopers this early in the season. We all know they clean up very well over time. This will be an exciting year! They are about as dirty as the cavaliers are at the moment, with a book that is much harder than the troop has played ever? ... Great stuff. I look so forward to see where they stack once they meet up with the other Top 12 corps. Thus far they are very in! Love this show!
TROOPERS TO THE FINALS!!!! BY FAR one of the better shows I've seen surface so far and I've seen a majority of the ones up right now. So glad to see the troopers continue to put out a solid product and resurface over the last few years!
Obviously you haven't seen very many, because almost everyone is better than Troopers this year. This is a musical disaster. Dreadful version on House Of Rising Sun, and not sure how they can even attempt the stellar piece SCV used a few years back. SCV version was absolutely amazing fire. Troopers version is like pissing out a campfire.

Some parts of the show I really like! Others not so much. I’m excited to see how the show evolves over the season. They’re really upping the intensity of the program, which I admire a lot. I’m pumped to see them in person next week!
I seem to remember on social media them indicating for the first time anyone can remember they had every single place auditioned for and filled early on... there are always variations, but the interest after Lasso and vorAcious is quite real. Especially compared to the snoozefest programs out of Concord.
I am so glad they took out the major chord in the first big hit! I personally hope they give the horn line more of "Land of the rising sun" melody right before the guitar takes off high. It would be perfect parking section. Overall they did great for their first public performance!
I saw the Troopers at NIGHTBEAT 2024 in Winston-Salem, NC....I thought their show was the most entertaining of all the corps that attended....even though they didn't win overall, well deserved standing ovation!!
Sophisticated arrangements, attention-grabbing stage sets that support the music. Incredible guitar soloist. Great production values, well staged, well planned sequence of action. Recognizable melodies. Satisfying ending, and showmanship, to boot.

The show has so much potential! I love how it's percussion forward and harmonically aggressive from the beginning. Unfortunately "The House of the Rising Sun" piece is way overdrawn and a low point that goes on way too long. In addition, the focus on the guitar should be eliminated - and this is coming from the perspective of a guitarist. The last third of the show is sick AF!
There's a lot of cleaning to be done but that's expected for June. As it sits, Troopers look like a problem for anyone below 6th place. I think they're mostly lacking visual content where it really counts. Marching at a slow tempo, with a reduced tempo, and playing technical stuff is almost the same as standing still and playing the technical stuff. Might as well axe the easy marching for some stylized body and get some GE points. That being said, I think their music is in incredible shape and their impactful moments certainly shine through. Guitar solo dude can shred, there's no denying that. However, some moments do seem more half-baked than others (like 12:08, even the crowd doesn't know whether to applaud or not), but I'm sure it's just because an idea hasn't been finalized and the show is still going through revisions. It's just a matter of cleaning, and I'm not sure if anyone can out-clean the Colts, but they may just have enough content (or potential content) to out-content them into 7-9th place.
Honestly dislike it. That prop alone probably just adds too much time to the members' hands to assemble/disassemble and especially if it adds any trucks to the fleet for transport costs. Bad financial decision to not just sell it after last season. With that being said, looks neat

This hornline could be pretty good this year with the right direction. They've got decent technique, but good golly their sound is so spread and the ensemble tonality is certainly... something. They're sounding a lot like they did in 2022 for almost the entire season before they cleaned up their act. edit - also i smell some mid-late season rewrites coming. the show has an awkward flow to it. the transition from the 2nd to last movement to the last movement was very abrupt. also will say (purely a design team nitpick now) not really seeing much of a wrap up to this trilogy they were supposedly making? other than re-using brief clips of music from the previous 2 shows, I don't quite see the connection yet. i know the were loosely connected to begin with bc the themes were just "the greed of man", "the ambition of man", etc. but figured there would be a more grand finale to the trilogy. like i said, maybe we'll see some rewrites come late season and i'' change my tune! either way this is definitely a finalist level corps once again!
I have always been a big fan of the Casper Troopers, out of respect, for Jim Jones and the original drum and bugle Corps. At first glance I knew they were the Troopers you can still identify them by their uniform, unlike the majority of other organizations I have no idea who they are or what they are I have looked at other organizations, they are no longer representing the activity of a real drum and bugle Corps. I believe Jim Jones and hardcore, drum and bugle Corps, would not go crazy for this routine but what's happened to the DCI organization in general turning it into a marching band competition, and three-ring circus. I understand to be competitive you have to conform. But in my opinion should change the title of Drum Corps International into marching band dance International. Just my opinion don't take offense I am a former member of the Long Island sunrises, and Floyd Bennett golden eagles from Brooklyn New York❤❤🎉🎉😢😮
OMG that is absolutely DREADFUL!! They ruined House Of the Rising Sun that BD had done amazing with in 2002. This is painful to listen to. Then they ruined SCV closer from 2018 with the amazing SCV guard feature. This is definitely the worst show of all I've seen this season, which includes about 23 corps. This is the show to throw rotting fruit at. Looks like this will be everyones potty and concession stand break.
I would agree with a lot of what you said. However Santa Clara Vamguard Wait Of The World was 2017 not 2018. I think it is risky for a corps like Troopers to use that music. SCV did such an amazing job, and Troopers aren't on the same level. Luckily with BD House Of Rising Sun, that was over 20 years ago so most people won't remember how awesome that was. Best ever use of hair. This is one of the worst versions of House Of The Rising Sun o have ever heard. Dreadful singing, soloist is weak at best and guitar solo is awful. I had to look up year, but if anyone wants to see an amazing version check out BD 2002(I was thinking it was 2004 as those years run together now). I am not impressed with Troopers and hope I can enjoy the show by the end of the season. I think they've been overrated the last few years. Haven't seen a show of theirs since the 80s that has deserved to make finals.

Cavaliers were fully moved in for spring training 9 days before Troop.
My god... I knew they were going to hit hard this year, but... DCI needs to call an ambulance when Troopers perform... and not for them.
I love the passion of this corp. You can see feel and hear the linage and history when they play.

What drugs are you on? The guard is dreadful like they have always been. Nothing near difficult, and they still can't get it clean.
