If you know about Akitas then you will know that you cannot mess with an Akita. In a real fight they are super fast with a massive bite force and very very High pain threshold. Best dogs in the World. But on the other hand with family they are like kittens. So loving and loyal.
@@cameronparker4998 lol shar pei doesn't even have the slightest chance boy.Akitas(american) have way more muscle mass, speed, strenght&power+agility like a cat.I BET it could even take down two shar pei's at once. You clearly don't have a clue about dogs or are just very young boy who probably has shar pei and chears for him living in dreams.Be real kiddo. The only breds who can win against akita's are:kangal and caucasian sheperd they would win easely they are the strongest breeds.
@@matrixscience7595 Actually there is a breeder that breeds American Akita's and Kangals. He said that American Akita's win sometimes, it's like 50/50.
Cameron Parker mine killed my friends Big bonehead Sharpie when we were teens...long story short we decided who dog was the toughest. Not planning on fighting them to the death...but we couldnt get my Akita to let go of the Sharpie throat. He was picking him up by the throat and throwing him around like a pillow. My Akita was app. 130lb...The sharpie might of been app. 75lb...got them loose but the wounds to the throat and sharpie died the next day. His mom wanted to press charges against me...but her son brung the dog to the fight.
Matrix Science I had an Akita...working line from Wisconsin farm...very big very game....Killers. This line of basically a gamebred working/fighting Akita definately stands a chance against both those dogs. I saw video from Pakistan where a Kangal killed a pitbull...but later a gamebred pit in another fight ate this big Kangal chest out. Pit was underneath for a long time...but when Kangal stood up there was a large hole in his chest...from their he got weaker snd actually tried to run but pitt got hold of that chest area and grinded this big dog into the ground. Kangals NOT invincible. Pit only weighed about 75-80lb.
I realize this is an old video but that Rhodesian Ridgeback looks like he or she is about 6 to 8 months old. I have had 6 of them. My males have ranged from 125 lbs. for one of them to 145 lbs for the other two. Females ranged from 95 lbs. to about 120 lbs. or so.
Beautiful animals the Akita lokks like it weighs min 140 LB's . My Akita, rest his soul, was 130lbs of pure muscle. He ran next to me while I rode a bike he was appx 25" at the shoulder, same color as the one in this video, and because I never rough housed with him was gentle as a lamb. Unless provoked and that happened only 2x but it was over before it got started. 1x with a Pitbull the other with a Samoan he really got shook up. Don't know what that dude was thinking.
i've had both: american and 2 japanese akitas and the american akita is much stockier and fuller than the japanese. @ least that's what i found. also their muzzles lengths are different
You are absolutely right. Also there are only 4 colors authorized in the Japanese Akita with no black on face/head allowed. American is much more robust and taller literally from head to toe.
That's a VERY good looking Akita you've got there. You must've got him from a good breeder. I see so many ill bred Akitas these days, and that's a great specimen of what an Akita should look like. Handsome boy.
Not play. The ridgeback was on the defensive to the akita pestering, did not engage or offer play behavior, simply playing defense. Notice how the akita continually moves into the ridgeback's space. The ridgeback is not intersted in playing but not willing to yield to the pestering either. Even gave anxiety lip licks and stress yawns at 0:40 and 1:28 .
Ridgebacks were never bred to kill lions. They were bred to harass lions while the hunters set up a perfect shot. And then once the lion was hurt they would chase the lion until it got tired and eventually died.
I saw a ridgeback like a month ago while I was walking my pup and that fucker tried to hop the gate of his backyard to get to us. He was intimidating no lie. My pup tried to go at him I was like nah baby he’d eat your ass up right now. I have a Chow Chow German Shepherd mix. He looks like an all black American Akita but with a black tongue....These days I’m sure my dog would fuck him up but I don’t condone dog fighting but ijs. P.s. just because a dog was bred to hunt lions and bears don’t mean they can take one on, one on one....a young lioness would slap a ridgeback to a bloody death.
You are right that it doesn't really matter what you call him, of course. But an American Akita IS a different breed to a Japanese Akita, and yours is an American Akita. Where the dog was born is irrelevant. Akitas were brought to America, and the breed was changed significantly and developed onto the American Akita, whilst the original Akita breed was maintained and is now referred to as Akita Inu or Japanese Akita.
@akitamalamute there really is no such thing as american akita...both the big and small akitas come from japan and where both breed in japan so its no american
Hunting lions is different than killing lions. They hunt in packs with the hunter (human) shooting to kill the lion. But they do have to be fearless, and have endurance, speed and stamina to hunt in extreme heat. Stupid for people to compare the two breeds. An akita, or american akita, could not function like that in the heat. Both are beautiful dogs.
the akita was bred to bring down bear and the ridgeback to bring down lions...they seem to want to establish dominance that neither is willing to accept..interesting.....
Cameron Parker history, both verbal and written, describe the ancestors of the Akita, the Matagi dog (Japanese:マタギ犬)(hunting dog, Bear hunting dog, Deer hunting dog),[14] as one of the oldest of the native dogs. Today's Akita developed primarily from dogs in the northernmost region of the island of Honshū in the Akita prefecture, thus providing the breed's name.[14] The Matagi's quarry included wild boar, Sika deer, and Asian black bear.[citation needed] Wikipedia. I didn’t know either until I read history of Japan
well that skinny dog is gonna have fun trying to kill the lion because to be honest, the should the lion land a bite on him, the biteforce could severely cripple the dog...
Lol you called your American akita Akira? That's a female dog name and if I'm not mistaken this one is male. BTW you pronounce akira as AKI-DA it's hard to pronounce Rs in Japanese they sound more like Ds
Akira (あきら, アキラ) is a common Japanese given name. There are several kanji for Akira. A popular kanji is 明 which means "bright", "intelligent", or "clear". Though Akira is normally used to name males, it can be a female name as well.
@riverice7 Neither of these dogs can bring down a bear or a Lion. Dog on Dog the Akita is too powerful and has superior flexibility, agility(in a combat sense) and a pain threshold unlike any breed I have known including pitbulls etc.
Where do Akitas originate from...? Japan? My Akita was bred in West Yorkshire, United Kingdom. Should I not then call him an English Akita, or even a Yorkshire Akita...??? To be honest, considering the planet is mostly populated by retards - it doesn't make any difference what I call him.
Akita's are like big old bulls with jujitsu skills. They LOVE to wrestle like this!
That Akita is a beast

@@poppopartist3870 That's fucking terrible
Beautiful animals
I love akita
The Ridgeback looks a very young dog, only looks as few months old.
About 6 months that one
Akira is beautiful. So typical of an Akita....@( 1:33)Sit, Sit Stares at you and walks away. LOL
Very nice healthy dogs. Fearless I agree!

wow bro,
Your Akita and my akita could be twins..
awesome looking head. I like the ridgeback as well. a little to active for me though...
Andrea Barnett here another one. Mine also , only this one looks taller.
i just watched a video about akitas the lady said two full grown can take down a bear......crazy
yep. we never quite got used to having such a big proud animal just wandering around the house.
Ridgebacks were NOT bred to kill lions.
They were bred to track and hunt big game which included Lions. Normally around 3 we’re used to track the lion and worry it till the hunters arrived.
Beautifull male American Akita ;-)
That's an american akita....if i'm not wrong. Which by the way, it looks very healthy. You have one beautiful akita there!
Lol, the Akita saunters to the shade.
Not play. The ridgeback was on the defensive to the akita pestering, did not engage or offer play behavior, simply playing defense. Notice how the akita continually moves into the ridgeback's space. Thats not a Japanese Akita, that is American Akita or formerly known as AKita Dewa.
Nice.
great
ohh that makes more sense because they seem like fast dogs.

Ridgeback sort of looks like the Akita's big brother, the Tosa.
Where did you get him ?
@Ryushai
Beautiful dogs! SarahCaty is right.

That other dog is female thats probably why AA is going easy lol. The mask is nice but the solid black head is better..
Is your Akita still living?
The AKC doesn't recognize the difference but the Japanese do.
you right, akita inu looks different...this is american akita
Ridgeback is fearless, eh?
I have an akita from japan
Can I ask who Akira's Breeder was and does he have any Serdess in his lines?
The face of ur akita is definitely the american breed, not japanese. U have beautiful dogs!
AKIRA!! TETSUO!!!

ridgeback would of whipped his ass cause he is mad agile
lol smoking to much of those funny cigs
You wouldn’t be so sure If ever had seen an akita fighting. An average ridgeback is a joke for an akita.
Cameron Parker no Akitas are killers like gamebred pitbulls kangals Tosa...etc...real fighting dogs by birth.
The Ridgeback is a powerful dog but no match here. Move on. Dominance clear.
@tigator32 Ridgebacks were bred to kill lions. They have to be fearless lol.

What is the akitas name?
If anyone thinks a Ridgeback can kill a lion, I have some oceanfront property in Arizona priced to sell.
They protect their family from lions in Africa
Zoey 000953408 they were used in packs to lead and corner lions not actually kill them
well that skinny dog is gonna have fun trying to kill the lion because to be honest, the should the lion land a bite on him, the biteforce could severely cripple the dog...
