I did exactly this a couple of week ago on my lawn. Was a bit worried as I’d never scarified in the summer months before but so much crap came out and the lawn is certainly thanking me for doing it!
You're still looking good as well Daniel not just the lawns. All of us come here for the lawns, tips and stuff, but it's good to see you looking healthy as well.
Scarified my back lawn on Friday with Allett Liberty 35 which is ideal for the size of lawn just not as quick changing the cassettes as Dan’s mower! Used Dan’s products for a liquid feed yesterday afternoon before rain to green up the lawn a touch, today Sunday will mow the lawn in diagonal stripes before going on a short break to the Malvern hills.
Absolutely fantastic Dan. I'm totally gobsmacked at what came out and how it looked before and after. What grass is that in this lawn then as you never mentioned the type? That Allett is also a very impressive machine :-) Love your videos, keep up the awesome work and videos, much appreciated for all the wee tips :-) 👍
If allett change the cartridge system to a quick change for the rest of their range then I'd happily get a Kensington. Stirling a little out of my price range. Great work Dan, keep it going 👍🏻
Every lawn that you take care of looks absolutely fantastic, we all know that. However, what amazes me most is the fact that none of these lawns suffer from any fungal diseases! In what universe can this be possible? Is it just the regular verticutting/scarifying or is there a secret to that? :)
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert Unfortunately we cannot get any of these products in Turkey here. There are thousands of ridiculous regulations on these type of products here and they get detained in customs. Wish we could have them.
In Ontario they suggest not to bag the clippings as the clippings add nutrients to the lawn. Wouldn't the clippings create thatch which is supposed to be detrimental ?
In your opinion does it not have any negative effect to spray directly after mowing? All the companies say wait 48 hours, used to be 24, but is that just to cover their backs? With granular I’ll put it at time time as you’re not spraying on a fresh cut that hasn’t healed yet, but wonder what your view is as you seem to spray on the same day as mowing and don’t appear to have any negative side effects. Your lawns all look incredible
Another nice job wrapped up. Question: I have patches of grass which appear to have a sticky residual on the grass blades causing patches of grass to stay flattened when the mower runs over. Typical of over hanging beech tree or perhaps the rain didnt wash in the Stella?? Thoughts? If tree sap how do you address? Cylinder wont pick it up and rotary isnt too keen either. Should I thin it out with Scarifier?
I did the same thing on my lawn with the scarifier cartridge a couple of days ago, as I was getting more and more dollar spots. I did not go all the way to the zero marking, as there was already coming out so much dead material and I was afraid of the high temperatures and that it might causing too much stress on my lawn.Which kind of grass type is in your lawn?
Can I ask what sprayer nozzle you’re using & what pressure setting number on the back are you using please? My Berthoud Vermorel 2000 doesn’t spray like yours is spraying.
I have a cheap scarifier with a verticut attachment as well as the wires on springs. It always seems to do a lot of ‘damage’ when I use either attachment. Not using your grass seed until next season so maybe it’s the fescue in the mix that’s getting ripped out and making a mess.

They won't just to justify the price of the Stirling unfortunately.
