I did exactly this a couple of week ago on my lawn. Was a bit worried as I’d never scarified in the summer months before but so much crap came out and the lawn is certainly thanking me for doing it!

Scarified my back lawn on Friday with Allett Liberty 35 which is ideal for the size of lawn just not as quick changing the cassettes as Dan’s mower! Used Dan’s products for a liquid feed yesterday afternoon before rain to green up the lawn a touch, today Sunday will mow the lawn in diagonal stripes before going on a short break to the Malvern hills.

In your opinion does it not have any negative effect to spray directly after mowing? All the companies say wait 48 hours, used to be 24, but is that just to cover their backs? With granular I’ll put it at time time as you’re not spraying on a fresh cut that hasn’t healed yet, but wonder what your view is as you seem to spray on the same day as mowing and don’t appear to have any negative side effects.
