My previous car was a Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T, was a logical purchase when i lived in Southern California, since relocating to Northeastern Oklahoma winters are harsher thus the upgrade to the Ranger.

Just bought one of these 2 months ago and I love it. BIG upgrade from my 2010 Ranger. I didn't get the FX4 model because it was unavailable. Mine is the STX and it's perfectly fine for my driving habits. I got a factory rubber mat for the bed from the dealer for FREE. I kind of disagree with your comments about the seat positioning for tall people. I'm 6'3" and I prefer the seat raised up all the way then tilted back a little more. But hey, to each his own.

@@CarsWithSteve My head doesn't hit the roof. I still have a couple inches to spare with the seat tilted back a little. I LOVE this truck. I mostly drive in the city and a little on the highway. My old 2010 Ranger didn't even have power windows, if that tells you anything. Pretty sure it was made for sale in Canada. A lot of French language here and there.

I thought Ford only offered the FX4 trim in Supercrew. I do prefer the Supercab since I rarely have passengers.
Nope, it's available across the entire vehicle lineup for all trims. XL / XLT / Lariat in the SuperCrew or SuperCab
If you don't really use the space that bigger box is always handy to have

Traded my '01 in on a 2020, really like the new truck except for terrible fuel mileage ! The '01 had a powerful v6 that got 25ish mpg. New one.....started @ 17mpg !
@@daghostxxx1797 Wow that fuel mileage is really different. Oy. I know you just bought but keep your eyes out for the new Maverick over the next few months. Smaller than the Ranger, better mileage and comes standard with a hybrid drive train

However, when you showed the driver's door panel, it looked like there are no window controls for the rear windows to lower or raise them.
Is that an XL-only thing, or do all the new Rangers not have that on the SuperCab configuration?
Good catch on that and it's because the window adjust isn't on the side door! If you look just to the left of the instrument cluster screen by the driver dash vent you'll see the controls there

Are you talking about the 4-way power mirror adjustment switch? That controls the rear windows, too?
I drove a new Ranger for a while, but it was the 4-door and the rear window controls were on the door panel.
Oh man I just realized I misread your comment 🥴 That switch by the vent is for the sideview mirrors
The SuperCab doesn't have window controls because the windows are locked in place but the SuperCrew would have the controls there

Not at all! The rear sliding window is available on all trim levels - even the XL SuperCab base

Carey, save $$$ for fuel, this truck gets worse mileage than the full-size ! Sits in my yard, unless I have to drive it !!! 17mpg - new

Adding sync 3 to the xl stx package is a bad move for Ford. It will cut into sales on the xlt. Sync 3 with android auto was one of the main reasons I went with my xlt.
I don't think it will hurt them much. The XLT has a nicer exterior, better interior options like heated power adjustable seats, reverse sensing system.
There definitely will be people that will stick with the XL base but I don't see the XLT being dethroned anytime soon
Would love for ford to offer a supercab Lariat with a rear seat delete option. The supercab is completely useless with seats period. Hope ford really improves the next gen ranger. They need to have or offer so many more options compared to other fords and manufacturers. I loved my past rangers. They were awesome trucks. Love the color and wheels on this model though.
Haha agree with you on the rear seats. They almost remind me of the comfort of the back seat for Mustangs! A rear seat delete option would be great!
Have you checked out the upcoming Ford Maverick yet? If you're looking for a smaller size it could be worth hanging off for a year until this is released
Exactly! I was discussing what I wanted with dealer and said I don't want a back seat. They don't give a choice.
I bought a 96, it was totaled by some lady and I bought a 2002 which I own now. Really great truck. I can't see how I'd ever need anything bigger.
But, going with Lariat with my order this time. Just give me comfort.
@@jcstevensva It would be easy enough for the dealer to rip the seats out prior to delivery. Heck, do it yourself and then just hang onto them or sell them off!
The Lariat has some pretty good features to it. What options do you think you'll go for?

Yeah that’s pretty standard right now for factory orders. Dealers can trade though or you could always search the Ford website for models available near you!

@@sparklyqueen12 I just realized that I don't actually tell people to look at the description for that info during the video at all so I'll start mentioning it in videos going forward
Bad idea having climate control settings on the touch screen. The mechanism relative to the conventional analog system is more likely to divert driver attention off the traffic and is more complex. Besides, touchscreen are prone to freeze.
The majority of the climate settings are a bit further down with the old school style buttons. Touch screen is where a lot of cars are going, especially as tech evolves. I haven't heard many stories of people's media screens freezing and that doesn't come up in forums much at all

Hah those older F150s and Rangers were tanks if they're taken care of properly. The new Maverick is coming out soon - bit smaller than the F150 but at a much lower price point than the Ranger
I bought the XLT Supercab, I like most about it except for the rear seat headrests. They block the rear window, they don’t fold down and they’re a bitch to remove.
Hopefully Ford sees this feedback and does something about it for future models

Was considering a Tacoma but definitely hesitant.
Pricing wise they're fairly close if you build them with similar specs.. Take one for a spin! If you're regularly driving it off-road look at one with the Tremor or FX4 package.. if it's a daily driver with no off-roading try to find one without those packages
I ordered a 2021 Tacoma and waited 5 months for it. I bought a new Tacoma because I loved my 2007 Tacoma. 2021 not the same. I did not like the lack of power! I was fortunate to be able to sell it for a profit and now have ordered a new 2022 Ranger!
Crazy how technology has progressed in the passed years, my ‘02 F-150 5.4L can only tow a maximum of 6500 according to the door jam sticker. 😞 lol
It really is wild how much the tech progresses in cars. The 2002 Mustang GT V8 had 260 hp while the 2022 V8 has 450
What difference supercab vs supercab xl sir?
Hi Saddam. The SuperCab is available in the XL or XLT trim level - each one has a few different options available. The Ranger is also available as a SuperCrew.
The main difference between the SuperCab and SuperCrew are box size and doors. SuperCab has a 6 foot box with 2 full and 2 half doors while the SuperCrew has a 5 foot box with 4 full doors

The biggest flaw of this car is the steering wheel. The disk space is too small.

Yeah - some people like to check it themselves, most people leave it for their service technician
awesome video, but Ford has this truck way overpriced. Their basic base model should be $20k, pricing it the same exact as a toyota tacoma is a bad decision. most people are going to go for the tacoma, which has more features even in the base model.
They stuffed too much into the Ranger to give it that $20k price point but that's where the new Maverick is coming in. I think Ford realized they dropped the ball on pricing for it
