    Real owners review! Have the 19, Supercab, 4x4. My hand calculated mileage is 22-25 on average, mix of highway/city. I've never wished for more power. Off road it does amazing, same in the snow. I'll agree, brake pedal is a little grabby at first. But you learn, and it's not a thing anymore. Comfortable seats, with great adjustments. The tailgate weighs almost nothing, it's aluminum. So waking the neighborhood if you let it fall is an extreme exaggeration. You can add a Ford damper, for those that like to drop their tailgate. 🤦🏼‍♂️ Been a truck owner for two decades, zero regrets on this truck.

      His point is that other less expensive trucks have dampened tailgates. It shows how cheap Ford is.

    • @rustlesee
      @rustlesee 4 ปีที่แล้ว +45

      @@andybub45 Less expensive trucks also have heavy steel tailgates. My point is, dampened tailgates are a thing of the last few years. We've gone 100+ years without them. To me, a truck driver for a long time, I literally do not care if it's dampened or not. I don't drop my tailgate. Never have.

      @@IslandTosh, pushing 8k. No issues, rattles, or anything. I'll be in maybe in September for it's first oil change. Will be modding it out a little too! Adding the Fox shocks/level kit, and the Ford skid plates. I use my trucks as trucks, but definitely take care of them too. 👍🏻

      Actually, my crack about the tailgate comes from me losing a grip on it one morning and having it drop. My neighbor three house up yelled to me "your going to wake the neighbors with that thing". And my point is, at the price tested, the tailgate should be dampened. Good to hear your having a positive experience. My dad has a Canyon and it's been great.

      I agree, except MPGs. Best I ever got on the highway is 26 with 4x4. But towing, this thing is impressive... I towed a 3,000-3,500 18-foot camping trailer over 1,000 miles over 2 mountain passes and it did very well, handled high speeds, wind, and big hills like a champ. It got between 10-14 mpgs while towing, but the electronic sway control was awesome.

    Here in socal the fully equipped 2021 Ranger Tremor Lariat is 47k. A fully equipped F150 is closer to 64k. Since I run work now I don't need a full size truck any longer and the Ranger is a lot easier to maneuver around the city and find parking. I got my Tremor in cactus grey and I love it. Great on road as well as off. Quiet, roomy interior with an excellent power train. This truck does everything but make coffee for me lol. I absolutely love being able to use auto start while I'm in the kitchen and when I get out to the truck the engine is warmed up, cabin cozy, windows defrosted and the butt warmer going. The infotainment system (Sync 3.4) does everything I could ask and the adaptive cruise control is just frigging awesome. I've never had these features in a truck before and I really didn't know what I was missing. Even has a wifi hotspot which keeps my tablet, that I use for plan reading, connected without having to bother setting it up on my phone. Also it gets better reception than my phone from inside the cab. Rock climbing and other extreme off-road activities are not my thing I just want to be able to leave the highway without worrying about getting stuck. I also love the way the truck looks, clean and stylish, unlike the latest batch of enormous grills and "muscular" body panels (22 tundra yuck lol). All in all I am having a blast with this one. Cheers

The honda, isnt really a truck, its an odyssey with the roof line removed, so id rather get a frame on body actual truck. So which is better? Foreign parts shipped and assembled in US or US parts shipped and assembled outside US?? Well I owned one of these overseas and I can assure you that is a pain to load and is it really a downfall of this truck. The back seat is also a bit awkward and the back seat does not fold flat but only goes down obliquely which is only useful to get to the Jack and that's about it. The front seat has very comfortable seats and probably best in class but the ergonomics of the knobs and the windows Etc are poorly engineered. I ended up with a frontier pro-4x which has about the same cabin space and ground clearance but the bed height is much lower the seats fold down completely flat in the back and the ergonomics of the controls up-front are superior to the ranger plus it has a sunroof which the ford does not even offer and full power seats including recline which the Ford does not have I still think the frontier is the best for the money plus the Bilstein off-road suspension is more stable does not wobble as much as a ranger which tends to make one sea sick.

I live in a large metro area and travel to my 2nd home 2 hrs away in the country year round so I need 4wd. I don't need extra off road capability however I have a utv for that. I have a fast sports car to fill any performance uses. Last October I traded a 2016 GMC Canyon 4x4 that was unreliable on a new 2019 Nissan Frontier 4x4 pickup. Research showed the Frontier to be the best value. I'm surrounded by Ford dealer's but the Ranger cost several thousand more so it wasn't the best value. So far the Frontier has been a perfect fit and at $28,000 for a new decent optioned 4x4 extra cab I'm quite happy.

    Your reviews are the most honest out there. We are looking at trucks as we want to get an under 4000# dry travel trailer or nicer pop up. The issue it seems is that our border/springier lab mix dog travels with us (even without the camper) and she settles in nicely on the back floor board of our 2013 Outback. If we could find a truck with a 5-6k tow rating that would have the same interior space as an Outback we’d be golden. The Ridgeline seems to have the space but it doesn’t look like the Ranger back seat and floorboard is large enough??

I just got one for a work truck the other day and for the same price as a reasonably equipped 4 year old 70k mile used f150 I got a new ranger crew cab fx4, fully loaded aside from the cloth seats. If you don’t need the extra room or extra luxury it’s hard to beat the value in some of the mid models vs a full size truck. That being said, I also have a longbox, crew cab Cummins in the driveway as even small jobs can be way over the rangers head as far as towing, hauling 3+ adults for extended drives and room in the box goes. Well you got to remember the reason they put this out was because the midsize Market was really taking off and Ford had been saying all along that the market was dead and they were dead wrong. So they decided to use the Australian T6 Ranger in a rush job to have something in the segment. Which means the interior is more or less the same as it was in 2012. I think Nissan will have the best midsize when they come out with their 2021 with the new 3.8 direct injected engine and Daimler Benz 9-speed. The gm twins are getting pretty old at this point and the Tacoma design basically throws back to the early 2000s still utilizes high floor and chopped roof which makes a very bad driving position using a horrible drive train at this point. As far back as Nissan may be in this segment they are going to have the most up-to-date product relatively soon. Anyone in this market should wait for the Nissan product before they pull the trigger they may be very sorry if they don't.

Seriously, the hardest part about changing the oil is removing the plastic clips that hold the trim on... everything else is easy.
