This was a very pleasant trip down memory lane. Those drive in theaters were usually built right next to a swamp because no one else wanted to be next to a swamp. In hot or humid weather keeping the windows closed was a miserable , whereas if you opened them the entire vehicle became a happy hunting ground for mosquitoes. I like your emphasis upon the physicality of it all. It also made me think of how much time working families stayed in the kitchen for not only meals but also to keep warm. And what do people huddling around a fire do? They talk and interact. We've lost that. Now the kitchen and dining room aren't places for family interaction; they're only for eating.
They also had fringe handbags and multi-colored patchwork handbags (late 60s) which were popular. Some of the things I see on this video were popular during a specific year or two then when the public was saturated with too much or grew tired of it, they moved onto something else.

My biddies and I got invited to a 4-H dance. Of course we were expecting to dance the twist. We were heavily disappointed when our friend's older sister was there to teach us the waltz, the hora, and etc. Finally we pressured them to let us dance the twist. The price of Hula Hoops took my parents aback. The dollar was actually significantly more valuable back then, so 50 to 75 cents apiece for a Hula Hoop was seriously expensive.
As I recall (granted, I was just a kid), paper dress had a tendency to tear easily. My older sister and her best friend both had a couple of paper dresses a piece, and from what I remember, they certainly didn't have them for long because they tore on the first wear LOL!!
along with the very mini skirts and outfits were one piece HOT PANTS outfits to wear with the Go-go boots...along with the Bikini haircuts and mini Empire dresses.

I was all about the Beatles, but living in the south, they were afraid of it's racists past, they only played Jacksonville, after their sheriff reluctantly let in everyone, sad things haven't changed much.
Drive in theaters, I would love to see that come back. If that came back it would be just so much fun for the family.

The 60s were enlightened times when both the Miniskirt & Go-Go Boots came to be. 😍

and when the guys danced they could do the James Brown moves and splits and falling on their knees and coming back up to the beat of the music.
Mary Tyler Moore was so pretty and so are the other pretty girls!

I have a picture from the late 60’s with a bee hive hair do! My granddaughter thought it was funny!
"Who wouldn't want ..." like, how many times does he say that? It might become "iconic."

Hula hoops were more a 50s pastime, not 60s.
I had a lot of those things.
I wanted a fringe jacket so bad, never got one.😢
