    I'm going to be posting some pictures from my journey to Magadan via Yakutsk on my Instagram at @davelegenda. Make sure you follow me on there.
    Also feel free to support me on Patreon (/davelegenda). On Patreon, you will be able to enjoy extra content in the form of:
    - exclusive full-length videos from Siberia and the Former Soviet Union
    - blooper scenes and funny moments
    - deleted scenes

      Your content is amazing. I've seen channels with similar content with way more views. Your content is better than those channels. I believe maybe it's a lack of proper seo. Your content deserves more recognition. I hope your videos get millions of views. Hire a good digital marketer and promote your content as it has so much potential.

    Everyone makes fun of yakutian carpets on stairs but they are there for practical reason. At such low temperatures everything becomes slippery, asphalt, concrete, wood, even rubber, the only way to make stairs non-slippery is to put carpet. The same is with traditional fur boots, they are lined with wool material.

    One thing to note that if you're going outside with temperatures being lower than -50°C, it will become very hard to breath as the air is just going lower and closer to the ground

    • @osckord

      in yakutia, the air is very dry in winter. asthma has nothing to do with it. it is necessary to cover the face with a scarf so as not to dry the nose and throat.

    The carpets on the building steps are to prevent slippery.
    The coldest temperature we had was not -80C.
    Buy унты boots that way it is not slippery on ice/snow.
    We have a lot of international students and in summer we have ysyakh festival and the Asian games.

    I’m pretty sure Yakutsk has never seen -80°C temperatures unless you are referring to wind chills. The coldest temperature ever in Russia (either Verkhoyansk or Oymyakon) is either -67° or -71°.

    • @outbackigloo6489
      @outbackigloo6489 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No I don’t recall that. On your previous vid, you did show part of the Wikipedia page on Yakutsk which claimed the record low as -53°C. When I read the Wiki page for that city, the all-time low was shown as -64.4°. Very cold to be sure, but not -80°, which is only possible in Antarctica.

    Bel video. Peccato che li faccia in inglese e non mi sembra una grande idea. Perché di video in inglese sul tema se ne trovano tantissimi. Sarebbe più interessante farli in italiano perché ce ne sono pochi e probabilmente avrebbe più visualizzazioni e seguito. Poi mi permetto di farle una seconda critica: i suoi video sono troppo urlati e dopo 10 minuti mi è venuto il fastidio di sentirla ed è un vero peccato. Si possono dire le stesse cose con un tono di voce più basso ma magari con alcune pause, dando spazio più ai luoghi e alle persone.
