    I've literally just stumbled upon your channel after a few frustrating years of feeling like I'm going no where with my music and you've just wrapped up some burning questions I've had for a while now in 3 or 4 videos. You've just gained a life long subscriber man, props to you. I will be using your videos to learn and hopefully start to finish some music (for once).

When I see this video with your theory breaks and visualisations I'm blown away again from the quality of teaching you reached! Compliment!

    I think especially in Melodic House and Techno, a good low end mix is the most important thing to take care of! Over the last 3 months I was working hard on improving that and the results are incredible. Thanks alot for putting out this video, it helped alot in the process

    Love this sound!!! Sidechaining all the things hurts my ears, tho. When everything dips massively around the kick, my ear starts to get fatigued really quickly - even with minimal stuff like this. I'm using Logic and stock plugins, but still find your stuff super helpful. Thanks so much for sharing!!

    • @joelk206
      @joelk206 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      one method you can do is split the side chained channel into low and higher frequency (say above 120hz). then, you can just apply side chain to the low freq. this will not have th obvious pumping effect but still give room to the kick

    I believe the "dip" in the kick drum waveform is an EQ cut between maybe 80 and 200hz, resulting in a dip at that position because in the sweep down of the kick drum, that's about the moment in time where the kick hits those frequencies.

    Wow, brilliant as always! In this vid the sub bass was the same note, I notice a dip in volume when I use a sub with different notes, still not sure how to compress properly to make the volume of sub bass not so different

    • @Alice-Efe
      @Alice-Efe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To keep the same energy with sub, you can actually also use a limiter or heavy compression which would give you more stable volume levels.

    • @TjMoon91
      @TjMoon91 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you referencing on headphones? Chances are it’s actually the acoustics of your room. An untreated room will sound very uneven in the low end.

  • @cws1865
    @cws1865 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I know this is a 5-min video, but I think it's important to explain better the part you were talking about the Live compressor:
    Why have you left the inner EQ on?
    Why have you set the "rms" mode for the compression, instead of "peak"?
    A ratio, atk, rel explaination is required here.
    Hope this can be helpful :)

    I had a question about this video. Are you stating that the “sweet notes” E, F, G, A apply to all songs or are you stating these are the sweet notes for this song in your example?
