Indeed! Your words are mine too!
Take your lead sound and sample it, put a lot of reverb and delay on it until it's washed out. Sample that again. Now find the part where volume is the highest and copy that part, discard everything else. Copy and pasted that after each other and add some reverb. There you go. An excellent mood for your track which is in key. An oldie but a goldie I think :)

Okay so when you have Access to echo parameter on mixer..put at 3/4 about and every 4th measure of the 32 say you can make the last echoed beat keep rolling and fading.. probably easiest with vinyl

LoL - 09:40 pro tip: never use a compressor apart from 2track/master. Afterwards in this video we see a number of examples where a compressor plugin is used for shaping a certain sound.

A few hopefully useful tips or some reminder: you cant fix whats already broken so just record again xD, long kick short bass or short kick and long bass, get rid of the low end of every channel which isnt bass or kick if it doesnt add to the overall low end, try to mix in mono,try pink noise as a reference for mixing, the abletons simple delay got a repitch mode try it by rightclicking on it, tension and release is an important concept, imitate genres instead of putting together random sounds so have an idea of what it should sound like. Jesus christ im bored :D have fun producing
