Oh my! This may just give me the courage I needed to do a collage! I lay something out with no clue where anything should go and I don't like the way it looks. I'm not an artist, but I want to dabble in paper crafting and now I think I stand a chance of it looking ok! You're explanation makes sense to me! Thank you very much!

You taught us with such quiet patience in this video. I'd never come across the rule of thirds before or how to use a grid pattern .
    Thank you.

You've taught me that collaging, especially with people, is so much easier (and fun) if I create a story about them, like you did for this music teacher who is longing for home. I've used the rule of thirds in photography, but never - at least not intentionally - in collage... I'm not sure why. Love your page, baby girl! Hugs, MomK 🤗❤️🌵❤️🤗

Lol being a painter this composition technique is a favourite. It always works. I love that you apply logical like giving her wings because she's floating. Nonsense collage has a lovely whimsical quality, I should try some because I also over plan art journaling....well....everything🙈. Your stories are so cute, you should definitely do a story book journal. Yes top down gluing saves a lot of hassle! Awesome. Tfs and have a great day 💖💖💖

I have never applied the rule of thirds to my work. I just go with what is pleasing to my eye. Have you ever tried holding that tracing paper “rule of thirds” grid to other finished pages in that journal to see if you had followed the rule on your own without the grid’s assistance?
