    This video is a bit old but i figured i would mention this for anyone with dogs who have hair that tangles easily. I do really like how this tool looks. I have a couple that are very similar but not that exact one. Though as a professional groomer i will point out she says she doesnt brush her dog because the brush gets stuck and "gave up". Im not going to judge her but i will say that is a bad idea and she may be misinformed. All you need to keep a dog tangle free is a slicker brush and comb. If you hit tangles yes it is going to pull a tiny bit but most can easily brush out with a couple gentle swipes. If you feel your dog is experiencing discomfort then you can try this tool or clippers. I personally dont use scissors on tangles at all unless they are visually very far from the skin because mats tend tp suck the skin into them and you are unable to see that if they are to close.
    Back to the topic at hand : Brushing. To keep a coat maintained first look up "Line brushing" on youtube usually any video would work. Its a technique to make sure you brush all the way to the skin and no mats or tangles get to form. Then after line brushing check your work with your comb. Combing through the dog will find any little tangle or mat you missed. When in doubt you can always find a nice groomer who can professionally groom your dog on a regular schedule either very frequent so you dont have to brush much or at all or occasionally to keep them clean and a length easier to maintain. If your dog is tangled all over take them to a professional so they can help you restart by either brushing it if the situation allows (the dog is calm, the tangles are loose, and it isnt painful) or shave under the mats to start over.

    And only question anyone has about these brushes is never answered. What is the difference between both sides? The curved razors and the distance they are apart?

    I have a Maltese as well, Oscar. I just spent two days combing and cutting huge knots out of his chest and behind the ears. What a Job, and I don't even know how they came about. Oscar gets a good combing just about every day, and these knots just showed up over night. I'm going to invest in one of those dematting tools right away. For a Maltese, it seems to be a must have item. Thanks for your video, it was a great help.

    You didn’t say which side should be used first or whether or not it matters. Thanks.

    But is it sharp enough to cut the mats? I bought one and it just pulls the fur and skin and my poor Chihuahua screams like she's being slowly murdered.

    OMG, you've got the cutest model there! 😍
    I like this tool you're showing, but I'm sticking to my double deshedder from _Le Salon Essentials_ by Hagen, it works like magic on my half JRT (with husky-like hair). I did a review on that one, if you wanna check it out.

    Groomers fees aren't ridiculous, would you say your hairdresser or electricians fees are ridiculous? Probably not! Groomers charge their worth for their expertise, the thousands spent on training, tools and equipment, and the maintenance of those tools and equipment!

      Groomer fees can absolutely be ridiculous. It doesn't mean they don't deserve the money. We still pay.

      @bleep4288 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We can say it's ridiculous and still pay. Coloring my hair, getting a haircut, and having a manipedi costs a fraction of what I would pay for a session with a pet groomer.

    What a precious (and very patient) Maltese you have there! I have a Maltese as well, and we just got that very same tool which I’m hoping will help on the mats she’s always developing. (She hates getting brushed - so we don’t brush her as often as she needs it, which is our fault.) So hopefully this tool will help! Thanks for the video!
