So Jeep can put 707 HP supercharged V8 in a Grand Cherokee but for reasons unknown we CANT GET A 5.7 HEMI IN A WRANGLER OR GLADIATOR. Thanks FCA. FACEPALM
@@RagingBad Weight for one. I'm on my 4th Jeep, a JKU after two TJs and a WJ, and one thing I miss out of all of those was the V8 I had in the WJ. The 4.7 is no where near a Hellcat, but I'd take it over the Pentastar any day of the week and the Pentastar has 50 "more horsepower" than the 4.7L in my WJ. The JKU is the most comfortable to drive, especially on the highways, but to me it lacks the low end grunt I got from the 4.7L V8 & the 4.0L I6. My JKU is still stock too, so I could imagine what it's like for those who've added lift, bigger tires, roof rack, etc. Give me a V8 in my JKU (and leather) it would be perfect for me!
The Grand Cherokee needs to continue to be built. No reason to get rid of this model. Replace current Cherokee with this version of Grand Cherokee or name this the classic, and put the redesigned version next to current version. Let’s see which wins out.
The new platform will definitely be an improvement. The 6.2 should be staying. The issue with the current platform is it was designed in in the late 90s and first released in an 04 model year. So while its a great platform, its long outlived its service life and is becoming too expensive to keep improving.
@@james2042 I think you're getting confused with the 300/Charger/Challenger platform. Although the current Grand Cherokee is based off of a Mercedes ML platform. It is not from the 1990s and the current Gand Cherokee was released in 2011. @Paul M The new platform will be vastly improved for weight/ride and handling. Can't keep the same platform for more than 10-12 years if the competition keeps improving. Jeep needs to stay ahead of the game to beat the competition. Even if the current version is very good. Which it is, but it is getting long in the tooth. They will probably produce the old version along side the new version just like they have done with the Ram 1500.
@@michaelalfonso9519 the wk platform started engineering in 98-99. Wk ran from 04-11. Wk2, current Grand Cherokees, is from 2012 to current. Wk2 is a revision of wk with improvements but is still wk at heart. So it's only been sold for 16 years but is in design over 20
The title reminded me of my 5.9 Grand Cherokee even before I got to the Trackhawk part! Jeep is doing things right, I want that thing! Can't wait to see how it goes off-road.
Don't forget to wear disposable gloves when fueling up! 'Stop, think, protect yourself.' Wouldn't these Trackhawks make totally awesome Police Pursuit Cruisers! What a beast of a vehicle,....with gasoline prices at where they are today, it would be a great time to be able to 'play' with one as you drive,...but then,..'the folks in blue' are around out there to 'curb your enthusiasm' a tad too,....I hope! Nothing on the road is faster ( yet ) than a radio signal LOL! Good one again Steve!
The trackhawk, while an incredible vehicle, should never be discussed as an off-road vehicle. It is not off-road capable at all. Yes it has AWD and has 8 inches of ground clearance, but it will not do well in any serious off-road trails with causing any damage. Things have changed so much since this video was published, you now have 700HP pick-up trucks that can go off-road, as well as over 700HP G wagons that can go off road.
lee hancock well friends will let friends drive Chrysler products. And friends will drive their Ford and Chevys over to help them remove and reinstall their transmission 👍🏼
The fact that a “launch button” exists is ridiculous These new Computercars are doing their best to take the driver out of the car - I have no launch button in my 2003 jeeep wrangler X
When you say it needs premium, but put in only 91. LOL I think its weird that not every region has 93. I have a gas station nearby with 100 octane race fuel. Kinda cool. Great vid, thanks guys!
Wish I got that gas mileage in my Tundra. Overkill for SUV. I would destroy it on a track course with my 2004, 247 hp, Honda S2000. And I don’t have 130 grand in it. With that money I could buy great off roader and sports car track killer.
This is one of those vehicles that you do not buy used knowing that some maroon hammered the hell out of it for a couple of years before you. No thanks. You also don't buy it new at that ridiculous price 100k+ here in Canada. No way. Crazy vehicle.
Damn, $11.26 USD of fuel to drive 78.3 miles. That's just under $0.15/mile to drive the Trackhawk in best case scenario. I think most electrics are something like $0.03/mile and something like Prius is around $0.06/mile from what I recall.
Really hate how Jeep/Dodge does this “Fuel Range” Thing. I mean by now it should be able to tell you how many miles you have left down to 5mi. Usually at 40-30mi it just tells you it’s low.
@freEvo8 tires are 500 each. Rotors are 600 each. Pads are 300. 3k just in parts. I do the work myself but these are the most expensive parts I've seen without being a true sports car. Quoting OEM prices that's all I'll use for brakes.
@freEvo8 I've looked into them extensively. To much cost to own but I love em. Still considering trading my Tesla and QX60 and 370z all up for the Jeep and just having one bad ass daily. But man my maintenance on 3 cars is way less combined
That's not even offroad other than being a dirt two track road. Its flat with some snow on the tracks and small dip here and there. A corvette could go down that road.
Tony C I’m just saying for that much money in America it’s around $100,000 a little less that’s allot of money, for that price you can get something that is made for going fast. Not a SUV. It’s a bad ass car but that’s allot of money.
The video we have all been waiting for!

I want a RAM 1500 with 797 hp stock!

Not the tTrackhawk or base Laredo, however the Limited and of course the Trailhawk come with the low range transfer case.
