BTW I forgot to say, I played Legend Solo for the whole time. Let me know your thoughts!
Legend solo was such a fun experience. Hope the servers are much better so people can play it without issues ❤
You are the only content creator that doesn't suck bungie off whenever he can. If anyone wants a true criticism of destiny this is the man right here.
I was watching Chevy and we all felt deflated when we got to final mission. Felt like there was nothing big happening in the campaign. Replace the witness with the veil and it was the same type of campaign get to this end point and then that's it drip feed info here on out. I wanted savathun levels of reveals
Final Shape Campaign is terrible. Its up to battle with Witness to change anything. Campaign didnt answer to any question. There were small reveals but beside that there was nothing. Its worse than Lightfall
Got lucky and avoided every spoiler, so far the experience has been really good
I played solo for like 95% of the campaign. It was fun.
PSA: Myelin does NOT wake up fresh and spritely. He wakes up in a foul mood and loves to take his anger out on his loyal Twitch chatters/viewers.
YOU DID THIS!
Eyyyyy Xbone whaddup mang
I actually liked this campaign more than witchqueen personally. Story for WQ had more of a twist yes but the missions were overall stronger imo.
Exactly! I’d say the only thing that would have made me absolutely say this is first place with no competition was maybe another lore revelation. I loved the revelations of WQ so much! But the campaign In terms of quality, design, and locations were so so so much better!
Is worst than Witch Queen an Insult? This puts it in the top 3 Destiny expansions at the least right?
ye. this story campaign wasn't about any massive twists sicne we already knew for the most part who we were going up against.
@Mr-R.R. also at the end of this journey you want answers rather than twists
i think this mission 7 was better than witch queen's mission 8 which is crazy because if bungie manages to one-up it with tfs' mission 8 after the raid... oh boy...
Thank you for the spoiler-free video. I was too busy getting Currant’d all night and couldn’t finish the campaign.
beating the last mission today so thank you for the no spoilers
Was enjoying the campaign. Felt fresh and nice.. nice to understand what's going on throughout the game. Prismatic is super fun and the environment is excellent..finish up the last couple missions today. See you in stream ya dawg
I appreciate the effort in preventing spoilers!
Thanks man for keeping this completely spoiler free, having to look after my mum until Saturday
Thanks for the summary!
Didn't get to play the last 2 missions due to the first 2 missions taking 2.5 hours with server stuff going on. 🤣
So I REALLY appreciate the spoiler free review!
The cutscenes. Slapped hard.
missed ya budd good to see ya champ
To me the biggest problem was how they failed to develop the witness as an actual character. Look at the setup and character progression of Savathun in Witch Queen in comparison to the Witness and its night and day
SPOILERS:
I feel as though that is sort of the point. The Witness, unlike Savathûn, is pure evil.
Think of Fire Lord Ozai from Avatar. Sure, they both had their trauma, but they things they do are unbelievably evil for the sake of evil. In Ozai’s case, he was merely a plot device from which the other characters, mainly Zuko and Azula could learn and attempt to grow from.
I think Bungie is doing the same approach with the Witness. We reach the boiling point of both Zavala and Ikora, got extra gushy time with our Ghost, and even get some form of closure between Uldren/Crow and Cayde. It also fits as the Witness was a mistake. It’s not a person, it’s an Abomination formed from a cultic view of its own Race’s meager existence.
As a literature nerd, I have to defend the choice to make the Witness's character a little flat. The fact that it's an amalgam of individuals coerced into a hive mind means that it wouldn't have any distinctive personality traits unless you encountered dissenting personality fragments surfacing in it's demeanor (which we do, kind of).
@@swirlyskyshock1155thats a horrible way of looking at things.
The witness is the big bad, the reason the golden age fell, the reason we have the traveler, the reason we have guardians and we get is that it is salty at the traveler.
It's supposed to be the big bad to the 10 year journey and all we get is one expansion to interact with it and the DLC still feels like a set up to an actual last expansion of the saga.
@@Danil_JRKyou just said a bunch of stuff and acted like that automatically means you're right, we know everything we need to about the witness, it can't grow and change as a character, because its whole character is hating growth and change and hating the universe, sometimes we need a little more outright bad in our fiction especially in destiny which has been full of grey forever
@@dankerbell the same argument can be made about everything you said.
90% of the things we know about the witness comes from lore.
And yes, for a 10 year journey the witness is a weak way to end things. Lightfall ruined the build up to the witness due to it just standing in front of the traveler and doing nothing.
great recap with no spoilers ❤
thank you! Still working through campaign and was getting a little concerned that the first act felt so flat. Good to know it picks up!
I wish more content creators did spoiler free first impressions. Myelin you’re the best!!!!!!!
The Final Shape.
I'd also like to add that the cylinder goes in the, you guessed it, square hole!
I really loved this initial campaign, stayed from hype videos and guides. Waited till Thursday to get on. No server issues. Prismatic was awesome, the call sidearm was amazing, with graviton Lance to mop ads the campaign on normal mode was awesome.
Haven’t been able to play it yet, but nice review. I’m looking forward to jumping in tonight!
Haven’t played yet, waiting till servers stabilized, this was the exact video I wanted over my lunch break!
I’m not gonna be able to play at all until this weekend, so I really appreciate the spoiler free review.
Cheers Myelin!
One of the best ever , loved all of it from A to Z .
Thanks Matt!!
The Final shape
Thanks myelin!
I fully respect this opinion but i want to say that i kind of disagree with it.
Witch queen -felt- harder. If you replay it now with all your weapons and builds you will faceroll through it. It was harder because we had simple rampage and kill clip weapons and only void 3.0 could work well and still had no artifact empowers and weapons keywords.
The story was spoiled by marketing for the most part but we still had some "wow" moments. And overall the story, spoiled or not, was amazing and that is what matters. I left the story with so many questions finally answered. It also goes on after the final quest with the rest of the quests that are all about the pale heart and how we help heal the traveller to be ready for the final fight. Collectibles of traveller also give a crazy amount of info about the traveller answering a LOT. From what are ghosts, what the traveler is thinking of the people it helps and why it chooses them. It even mentions how it doesnt want to be worshipped. It feels confused and in awe in why people after their contact starts worshipping the traveller, begging, asking, demanding things from it. It gives you the answers you need about the nature of the traveler. And this time it is not locked behind some lorebook entry but in dialogues.
Finally witch queen for the most part also had quests that made no sense. Yeah they were not mr miyagi train get better with strand, but they had the same impact and lore implications of a fetch quest. The ending fight made no sense and almost no question was answered. The destination afterwards had 0 purpose. You farmed the weapons and that was it. The new destination is filled with secrets that matter and is incredibly fun to farm offering completely new ways outside of public events to play the destination. I loved witch queen but there are a ton of things wrong with it that people just ignore because it was the first good thing after forsaken and 3.0 classes came along.
Completely agree 👍🏻
I just finished it and completely agree. I was pretty worried after the first 2 missions, but it ramped up, and by the end I was very impressed.
I will add that the Pale Heart location is absolutely stunning, a stark opposition to neomuna.
Final mission was probably my favorite in the whole game’s history. Felt epic
I don't think witch queen was harder at all, but I think you're a much stronger/better player now than you were the first time you went through WQ
Witch Queen might seem harder for people that played it on release, because we didn't have all the 3.0 ability updates (only void), and the scorn damage was bugged, making them deal significantly higher damage than what they should.
If you played the expansion after all 3.0 abilities and the bug fixes, the campaign was a lot easier.
@@voltus20 Thats what i said on an another comment. I started a hunter since we had this huge downtime(titan main since D1 playing only 1 class). I went in with solar hunter on legend and i facerolled the campaign. The whole WQ legend felt like a big lost sector and there were no tormentors or subjugators to threaten me.
When i played it on release thought it was trully a nerve cracking experience and the best primary i had to use was a focused fury scout that enabled me to play on long ranges. Because anything before that was just kill clip rampage weapons that just dont work there. And 0 void3.0 verbos or artifacts. So yeah. It WAS a ton harder given the sandbox it released in. Current sandbox is beyond broken compared to that.
In fact it was wayyyy easier. I actually died pretty often on final shapes campaign but the ONLY hard part in witch queen is fighting savathun in the end.
I avoided all the marketing, so I found the opening act good :)
I look forward to finishing up the campaign tonight.
As an overall story it's not on WQ's level. But ehat this expansion had were character moments. Every single one of them was good. It feels like a string of excellent character stories tied together into one line. They are very much part of zhe same story, but I will temember this mostly for the time with Cayde, Crow, Ikora and of course, Zavala. It had more emotional impact than WQ for me, but it also failed on some fronts I expected development on. Overall miles above Lightfall, so I'd place it bellow WQ but around Forsaken perhaps.
the character moments were cool but it felt like the main conflict (of the entire franchise) took a backseat to the vanguard working through their dysfunctional family issues
I felt like I was forced to use prismatic for consistency in breaking prismatic shields
Just use quicksilver storm on them..
Builds transcendence quick!! Then boom you F em up
U didnt have to use transcendence. you could have used a normal subclass. And then just activate transcendence for the enemy you needed it for. Try it. Ull just throw ur grenade and melee for that subclass
I'm enjoying it so far, about half way through.
Prismatic is exactly why Avengers was so fun from day one. The combo system included 8 elements that directly tied into your armor and other perk granting items. Four cold and four hot elements meant you could combo and you could easily end up with 3-5 elements afflicting enemies based on your perks and abilities. I hope there's are many more ways to actually execute combat in Destiny, as it often becomes just a shooter. Sadly Avengers can't be purchased anymore because the servers are offline but I can essentially play forever and with friends using Steam servers because the game has both enemy and allied AI characters that are fully autonomous and actually acted as most players' preferred squad.
I appreciate you playing this for me
Agree with your take on act one.
Basically when a certain character receives a voice actor, the campaign becomes really engaging.
Thanks for the vid! I’m from the states but I came to Germany for work on 1 June and I’m trying to play on PS Remote but the lag is real. Long story, I’m gonna have to wait to play again n the 22nd when I get back home. Gotta avoid spoilers haha
I believe I'm halfway through the campaign rn (Leg Solo) and I'm really enjoying it. Legend definitely makes u lean forward in the gaming chair, but it isn't impossible, cutscenes and environments are beautiful, story has had me completely engaged since I started. As of rn its a 10/10 for me.
Took my first break from destiny ever in the middle of last season. Ill be honest I pre ordered tfs and I don't regret it. Played the first mission with a buddy last night and we had a blast. Added versatility with prismatic, the beautiful scenery in the pale heart, other little details that I won't mention (would be little spoilers) really made it a great experience imo. You're definitely right saying if you took a break this might be a solid time to return. Everyone's got their opinion I figured I'd throw mine in. So far a solid dlc haven't been dissapointed yet. See you out in the field guardians 🤙🏼
i have no idea how necessary they are or how much emphasis the game puts on them but make sure to seek out the "traveler memory things" in the pale heart, they really make you feel for the traveler as a character imo and if you didn't realise what kind of a character it is then it's a great way to learn
Thanks for your thoughts. Good video. 👍
Look I really do think the final shape was really good especially the cut scenes they were stellar. However it didn’t shock me like witch queen did with the twist at the end. The irony that savathun the queen of trickery got tricked by the witness because the hive could of gotten the light had they not turned to the darkness was phenomenal.
I feel like Zavala Ikora and Cayde have never actually had the in game relationship and chemistry that everyone keeps saying they do.
So much of the plot requires you to just care about and know about the characters and the actual GAME does not and has never really done a good job of making this feel like the OG fireteam and the best of friends. So much has happened over the course of the lore for each character and yet I swear anytime we see them together in destiny they repeat the SAME arc.
Cayde learning how to be less of a renegade and more of a team player. Zavala learning to trust in his friends and not be such a Titan. And Ikora meditating on the traveler and the light by herself until she is needed.
We’ve literally been doing this since D2 release arguably since taken king and yet for the next 6months people are going to act like these characters are seeing NEW HEIGHTS and MAJOR CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
In reality they have basically redone the SAME CHARACTER ARCS we do for these characters. I loved seeing Zavala struggle with the darkness but did we not have multiple expansions and seasons where the guardians decide there’s nothing wrong inherently with the dark?
Im pissed bro.
Thanks for tgus myelin I've really been waiting for you byf or Paul to tell me if this is worth buying or not after lightfall
Love you Matt, and I miss the flashbangs!
3:28 you do have to consider, though, that they are expecting a lot of people who haven’t been playing destiny for a long time or even new players to be jumping in for the final shape. So they have to have some kind of lead and rather than a massive battle to start, because you would have new and maybe like returning players drop off pretty quickly.
They always spoil shit. We shouldn’t have known Cayde was gonna die in Forsaken. Same deal with knowing he was back.
I personally think this is a horrendous idea considering the fact that they literally wouldn’t be able to market any for Forsaken if they hadn’t shown that teaser for Caydes death by crow surrounded by the scorn. You can’t sell a DLC of a revenge story western without having a reason to justify your revenge.
@@TzrcWolf_ they wouldn’t have to resort to spoiling their DLC if they kept the game in a good place where people were excited for more, no matter what. However they are in a cycle of screwing up and relying on a DLC being amazing to get people back on the Destiny train.
cayde dying was literally the entire crux of the expansion, how exactly could they have avoided talking about that? "oh so you're on this place in the reef for some reason, and you're hunting these guys for some reason, and uldren is there and he's evil, but we can't tell you why yet, uhh go get him"
@@CaptainIvanDankodoesn't mean anything, regardless of how good destiny was at the time, you cannot market forsaken without showing cayde's death, and bungie's never not gonna market something because the playerbase would not pay for something they don't know about it, and i can't blame them
@@dankerbell Maybe you can't imagine it, but you CAN market something without telling what it's about. Not sure if you're old enough to remember the marketing around the original Matrix film. NOTHING was given away. They pulled people in with lines such as "The Matrix has you" and "What is the Matrix". And EVERYONE was blown away by it because they didn't know what to expect, yet a mystery was teased. Bungie could do similar.
That sidearm and the season pass exotic carried me through the campaign hard lmao
They put out so much in the marketing etc. because IMO they were trying to bring back players like myself and the dozens I used to play with that all walked away over the last year after we got tired of meh content, bad decisions, and terrible server maintenance. We're talking original players that got off the ride, not ones that started after beyond light. They confirmed middle of the road output was their plan over a year ago at the developer con where they said its about keeping the train rolling and admitted they intentionally under delivered. Everything feels like damage control and trying to pump numbers, but it's to late.
Won’t be returning to this beloved game this year. But I hope y’all have fun and I’m excited to watch some worlds first raids.
Ok
Why didn't you like it?
@@markkuuss 7 hours then you're back to nightfalls lol
@@markkuuss I think destiny 2 is a solid game wrapped in genuinely unhealthy design choices. I feel like it’s a part time job just to participate in the end game content I want to participate in. I don’t need it to be easier, just less grindy.
@@Moss_and_Suchit’s not grindy at all lmao, there are much grindy-er games
conflict: the traveler is getting fricking tortured!
story: haunted part 2
As someone who works in the industry. Marketing is a chicken and egg situation. You need to market it for people to buy it. If everything is omitted people won’t be first in line to buy it. There is a balance for sure. But ultimately you need to give a reason for purchase to the consumer.
*Add* let’s be honest with ourselves. First reveal didn’t move the needle on folks being hyped for final shape. Everything leasing up to final shape this year turned that around for a lot of folks. Point being, revealing things generates sales.
This was my favourite campaign that destiny has ever did, not once since Taken king did a story do that actually feels like it’s connected to the raid like this
Myelin, I have not even bought the Final Shape, (I do intend to) and I am pleased to hear your thoughts about it.
I disagree that it was worse than witch queen, but I think a complete overview of the story / campaign needs to take into account both the raid and the final story mission. From what I've played I think the story is on par with witch queen
Definitely was harder than witch queen also I slammed witch queen in legend
@@jjthewiser8162 yea weird i was able to get thru on WQ on legend with no problem but im struggling bad on final shape
I think witch queen had far greater lore implications and revelations, than Final Shape. Final Shape, definitely emotion and nostalgia, getting the band back together. But for complexity and story telling, still prefer Witch Queen.
@@MyelinGamesright on, yup; TFS explained NOTHING about the Traveler or even the Gardener or Winnower, it chose to focus on lame friendships and hugs instead of the actual existential major threat to the universe ever, silly Bungie
@@MyelinGames If you think witch queen has more story implications, than you don't know much about the story.
Love it
Considering Bungie needed to show that they could nail Final Shape after Lightfall, I'm totally fine with marketing showing off what they did (Cayde, etc). I'm not quite finished with the campaign, tbf, but hard disagree on it being worse than Witch Queen even at the beginning. It was as good if not better on practically every front, and I'll gladly die on this hill forever.
Then you die on the hill of mediocrity. Final Shape plays exactly like a B list Marvel movie.
@@thatoneswarmdrone6409reddit is down the hall and to your left
The hard truth is that witch queen wasn’t the peak of Destiny.
As far as story goes, Forsaken still runs laps around modern Destiny stories, as far as music, destiny 1 year 1’s music is still the series peak, production value goes to Forsaken and Taken King, etc
Witch Queen is slightly above Beyond Light but it’s very much “standard” or “average”
Only fake destiny fans defend final shape story was not mid
@@LateNightHaloyo what’s up late night
For me it was the other way around. The witch queen was easy af while I am struggling with final shape. I agree that it was a bit slow going at first but the mechanics about midway through and on made it more fun, including some from raids was a good idea imo to spice up the campaign play.
I think the final fight was a lot harder than the Savathun boss fight but not in a bad way.
Thank you, i was holding of until reviews started coming out. Watched Gothalion play and gotta say, gameplay, world, & new items look fantastic. But that story, left so many basic questions players have had for years unanswered? Still don't know what the travler is, who made it, and how it works. Hope the raid is great and maybe there will be some answers to these questions. I'll just wait for the sale.
Will i be able to play after i get out of work or are the servers still shit?
The destinations aren't very memorable to me. They hammered way too much on the hands, but the hands are just a thematic layer. They don't even have any meaning. You first build a space and then add fluff. But now the fluff is the entire space. Because if you remove some of the atmosphere it really is just a unity asset flip but with bungies laid off employees. It's not the final shape it's the final DLC with original content.
it's just hands, faces, ghosts, and REMEMBER THIS PLACE WE SUNSET LOOK IT'S BACK
@@xXx_Regulus_xXx exactly exactly. It does NOT at all inspire me. All the previous locations were insanely unique and cool and even traveling through europa again makes me feel like i am somewhere.
@@xXx_Regulus_xXx If they even can't make unique content for the BIGGEST anticipated DLC, then there really is no hope for this game. truly the budget is gone.
Come next week when everything's out and the dust has settled, IMHO, this will be Destiny's magnum opus! So far I think it's already better than anything before it and I just feel it in my bones that there's a twist coming none of us will see!
Playing legend solo was a good time, if the ending is done right it should end up being a very strong offering, likely better than Witch Queen imo.
wish I could have played yesterday but couldnt see the end cutscene of the first mission after doing it 4-5 times lol
First time I’ve ever not played a Destiny expansion on release or probably the week of release. Seems like I should jump in.
Love seeing twitch chat while I'm trying to avoid spoilers.
Hi twitch chat! 🖐
For me personally, lengend difficultly was perfect, right where i don't die constantly, but i have to always be fully engaged and focused to get through it. But I know im not by any means a super skilled player, so im sure there are a large amount of the community finding it too easy.
Story and mechanics/encounters thus far are my fav by far. The old dna of halo shines thru imo and ive been loving it all. But i also went in completely spoiler and marketing blind bc i know that lately the marketing tactic for everything rlly, is just outline the entire thing rq which would drain the joy of it
I think you have rose tinted glasses when remembering witch queen. It started off pretty slow as well. Anyway thanks for the review!
The ritual pathfinder forcing us to play crucible and/or gambit is a kick in the nuts
they are really going the "you want bright just? help us inflate the metrics then!" route, complete and utter greed.
As someone who works in the industry. Marketing is a chicken and egg situation. You need to market it for people to buy it. If everything is omitted people won’t be first in line to buy it. There is a balance for sure. But ultimately you need to give a reason for purchase to the consumer.
Creators always talk about how they mention the veil non stop and don't explain it but im pretty sure they say in the campaign that they don't know exactly what it is but the witness wants it so it has importance. I figured they were going to explain throughout the season as theres a whole year plus to tell us
Im sure they say that The Vanguard doesnt know what these Statues are, but they theorize that these statues are prisoners of The Witness' species that did not agree to join with it. As punishment The Witness Calcified the protesters and are holdeng them prisoners, however since they are still tied to the Darkness like a hivemind, The Witness is able to take control of the staties the same way it takes control of our Ghost.
if the characters in a movie tell the audience there's not going to be an ending that explains or justifies the movie, does that excuse the lack of an ending? maybe for some people but it's still weak storytelling.
I do agree that the servers added to the experience of playing the story. Once your frustrated or angry, it's maybe difficult to calm down. But I knew that any and all trailers or talks would spoil aspects of the story that may be big. I feel like the story is better than Lightfall, but not better than Witch Queen. I believe Savathun was built up perfectly compared to a 10 year build up. I also appreciate the not spoiling anything! Thank you!!
3 year build-up, the witness didn't exist until he was mentioned as the voice in the darkness in s15, and while the concept might've existed since ttk i think it's unfair to compare this to the mcu showing off thanos a few films into the mcu as if the final shape had been planned since we destroyed a heart in a garden
@@dankerbell well, witness first appeared at the end of garden of salvation, but yes, he did not exist until shadowkeep at all. The entity that oryx was talking to was not witness, everything is retconed.
I have always (usually) played Destiny Solo, rarely teaming up, rarely being in a Clan. I do not like 'meta' I do not like feeling (as a squad member) I "have to fight a certain way" to be a useful member of a team. It's the main reason I do not engage in military shooters that rely extensively on that kind of team play where you have to know the lingo, play the role assigned you and suck up any crap that's thrown at you because you are not at the same level or same competence. I play games to have fun, be entertained and lose myself from the world the same way I do when reading a damn good book. I do NOT play games to meet other people's metric.
okay?
Uh... Same, I guess.
What?
Sorry for the rant, which I know is totally unconnected with the Final Shape and myelin's response. Something touched a nerve, and I just wrote what I feel. Good luck to ALL guardians playing the Final Shape, I look forward to doing so myself soon. My sincerest apologies for the rant, yours in the Light, R
Myelin is the final shape
Witchqueen was also harder because we only had void 3.0 at the time not everything else
The campaign was too short, the enemies were too soft, the loot in the campaign was OK. The main question is how could Bunchie not just blow the doors off with this first act, I feel like they were holding back some thing. The fact that the campaign was so short says a lot about Bungies investment in this DLC, which is a shame… Because they pushed the launch date back and had plenty of time to make this one a one of a kind banger. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what Act. 2 is like…. The problem is we shouldn’t have to wait for Act.2, to see if this DLC is actually worth the time
witchfall was my fav expansion
The fact that they showed Cayde coming back, in all the final shape pre-launch advertising, shows how desperate Bungie was for people to buy this DLC. If they had just held that one piece back it would’ve blown the doors off of this campaign. Instead Bungie got too stressed out about their numbers and had to show probably the best piece of cut scene material bungies ever had, before the DLC came out… once again they missed the mark and could’ve had a home run with this…
starts 2:16
Wow, people really glazing witch queen.. I remember flying through it and not getting held up anywhere but I’ve been held up on at least 2 encounters. I really feel people got rose colored glasses when it comes to W.Q.
It’s actually pretty damn decent. Games are gonna have issues when launched up and servers are gonna be busy. My service was perfect and the first act I felt like it was okay, if not on the same level as witch queen. Obviously The Taken King or foresaken being very good, it’s not that damn good but it’s pretty decent. Overall it’s good but I feel as if they could’ve done a bit better. This expansion for me is basically on the same level as witch queen or that’s how I feel when playing.
Personally I enjoyed this story the most of any campaign, though only just ahead of witchqueen.
I thought Witch Queen's story was told better, and Lightfall's gameplay was much harder. This was middle of the road in both. Wasn't super hard outside of the final boss, which only stumped me for a couple hours (I was stuck on Calus for 10 hours and the fight outside the Veil vault for like 4 hours), and didn't have near as many wow story moments as Witch Queen did. I liked it a lot, but I think Witch Queen is my favorite legendary campaign still
They couldn't of hid cayde, it was the cutscene at the end of last season, even if they didn't have it in marketing, we would have known before the campaign, or am I being too simple here, maybe lack of sleep from myelin.
No spoilers, but is the final mission (and I assume fight) more fair than Calus in LF? I dont know yet, but i hope it isnt more frustrating than difficult.
I think the final mission (or atleast what we have right now) was perfect. It wasn’t as hard and annoying as Calus in LF but the difficulty was still there and the mechanics made it actually enjoyable
@@rent9624 good to know. I'm looking forward to it
Rofl. I'm getting my butt beat my legendary final mission and I've got godslayer and conquerer 11 times. Calus was a push over compared
@@TheCorrectOpinion100 huh. I beat this fight after a strategy change and break in about 2 hours. I tried Calus for 4 hours and then cheesed it. This fight was far better and more fair, although facing Calus directly was a plus.
@SALEENS7GTR5 legit all you had to do for calus fight was run around in a circle lol
Regarding the marketing spoiling a lot or the first act, yeah, totally agree. It's nothing new though, Forsaken we knew Cayde was dying way back when.
This isn't a defense of the marketing method though, rather, I'm tired of everything having to be marketing, not just Destiny, but everywhere.
For example, games dont have secret characters anymore, at best they're advertised unlockables, and at worst theyre paid DLC.
Or everything's road mapped out so we know what to expect. Upcoming weapons are shown, we know what exotics do, etc...
There's so little mystery left.
For the story itself, I'm not done, but I've been loving it, but Im imagining what it would've been like walking in blind instead.
All the same, this campaign has me feeling all sorts of things, and its great, but also disappointing, because if this is Destiny, then what have we been playing all this time?
There have been good character moments in the past, but all this interaction, its what I'd always wanted the game to be.
I played the non-payer episode. Did seem easy. Debating paying for the campaign.. maybe when I get a few more Xbox points to get it a bit cheaper
The final shape
Did chat bait you into thinking you said which fall? Because you definitely said witch queen and lightfall. 😂
I think final shape was harder than WQ, the only fight in WQ that gave my any trouble at all was the final boss but in final shape there is a few bosses in the last 3 missions that took me a few tries. I do think the final boss was a little easier and shorter though
I fully agree that Witch Queen is better; it felt like it’s own thing, and to be fair, I did get tired of waiting for servers, so I decided to watch the campaign from a streamer's perspective. Doing so let me focus on the game play a bit more, and I came to the realization that the campaign used a lot of older assets and ideas, with every mission feeling pretty much the same. I think the first part was, in my opinion, a super big disappointment, equivalent to Lightfall, if not worse. I finished the campaign on my own today and still feel the same.
Personally kingsfall and forsaken atory hit harder. I liked the final shape story just wasnt too keen on the delivery.
I enjoyed the campaign but the dialogue needs work, something Bungie was never really great at. Felt like I heard the same thing just worded differently.
All I have to say about the campaign is: HOLY. FUCKING. SHIT. Is this what Taken King was like in D1 (I never got to play D1 because no console)?
Taken king was better
Taken king was way better, still fun though
@@TheKidBaccataken king campaign was mid, worse cutscenes, worse encounters, worse story, no oryx development, mid
Here comes the D2 fanboys,TTK and WQ are just superior
you are looking at ttk with rose tinted glasses tbh. we can never get the first new subclass missions ever again, we can't be introduced to proper exotic quests for the first time again; if any expansion did more firsts for the franchise it would put it above ttk by miles.
Campaign keeps freezing up on me and boots me out not happy.
I am on the end of the penultimate mission. Taking my time and was savouring my long good bye. Lightfall gets way too much grief it's better than Curse of Osiris and the D2 vanilla double primary BS. Witch Queen and Forsaken are lightning in a bottle and you just can't grab the ephemeral things that add to the secret sauce.
As a love letter to one of the best games of it's kind it so far sells me my box of hankies and tearful moments
Witch Queen, Taken King and Forsaken are all better that the final shape and that goes for the story and everything else associated with the dlc.
Literally only a fool would think this nonesense. What a glaze
