So instead she spurred us down a rabbit hole for 10 years to find this information out for ourselves while she fought off yet another dark future... lol
She could explain how involved she was with the Future War Cult, at the least.
Doesn't help that the witness changed Elsies history after she lived it. So now everything she thought was retconned.

The witness doesn’t believe we have a way into the Traveller, and are of no concern for them. Little does he know we met a magic whale, learned to fish and have created a hive god since he left.
The Witness does know, it just doesn't care, because it got inside the traveler first
Rhulks prophecy wall, tells of the events that intertwine different groups, places and actions
There's a prophecy in which the Witness makes everything stop, Immaru this season said the Witness wants to stop all life, hold lifeforms in a static state so they can't evolve, and split the lifeforms like cutting a cake, so that there's no way to undo it
Immaru having followed the sword logic doesn't like the idea, because sword logic says the weak must die, and if the Witness isn't allowing lifeforms to evolve, then sword logic is pointless

From the moment I first saw the Veil in it’s entirety, I immediately felt the Traveler fit right into the “root” structure. The other end looks like it’s been sliced clean through, like it was once attached to something else. It’s like the original link between light and dark. The line between light and dark is thin, like a Veil. ✌️
I saw as was the roots were dug into something and the rounded bowlness of the "top" of "flower" of the veil would bear the Traveler as a "fruit", like a bulb. But it would make sense that the roots could wrap around the Traveler.
The only thing that we know right now is that the Traveler is WAY too large to fit ergonomically within the Veil's roots or "flower", from what we've seen. Of course, the Traveler could have gotten bigger or the Veil smaller, or they can all change size, who knows

@@SALEENS7GTR5the roots would need to extend far more than the platform, we've seen how far they stretch when we battled Calus, his central platform was encased for his sword battle
There's no way those roots can hold the traveler if that's as far as the went with the platform
What I actually think is that the veil is an eye ball, when the traveler shot at the pyramids, the traveler opened itself up revealing a central core, the veil would fit easily inside it, and human eyes like any organic lifeform have their eyes connected by veins and blood vessels
The top of the veil (swirling patterns) is like the front of eyes

That’s been my theory for a while. The Veil fits perfectly into the bottom of The Traveler because when you look at The Traveler, the top part has a smooth white surface; but, on the bottom there’s a piece that looks to be missing, which the veil would fit into. This also might suggest that my ultimate theory is correct: the tree trunk from the tree of silver wings in The Black Garden was a fruit-bearing tree, and said fruit was both The Traveler and The Veil.
The veil looks way smaller than the traveler so maybe it was connected to it's pale heart...

The way that Osiris describes Paracausality is (I believe) a reference to the Higgs field. It's the (irl) quantum substrate that exists throughout the universe that allows for forces, or particles to exist at all. This speaks to the idea that there was no "Ret-Con" of the Unveiling lore book. The gardener and the winnower were two inherent parts of the quantum probability field before the birth of the universe (i.e the metaphorical garden). Until the gardener changed the rules, (created a new and parallel set of physics), and the conflict between the two pushed them into "the game" (the Traveler and the Veil becoming what we know of as the Gardener and the Winnower).
Not only that, but it references the idea that the vex have learned a way to "weaken" paracausality with something like the black heart. Given the nature of the vex (as they were the inevitable victors of the "flower" game without paracauslity), that seems like something worth noting and something that could make them a much more prominent threat in the future.

Sounds like both Osiris and Sunderesh have just been replicating the Witness' discoveries, Sunderesh, perhaps, following in their footsteps

Is it me or way back then, like around D1 to early D2, season of arrivals, Beyond Light even before The Veil even existed in lore & Bungie thought of the idea of the veil...I always got the feeling that originally there were parallels between The Traveler & The Pyramid Ships? Like the yin to the yang.

At the end of veil containment, I need a Myelin with a MS Paint histogram of each event. It's not that I don't get each individual entry, it's just that I need this whole thing cut down into a small summary so I can understand where all this fits into everything.
Traveler and Veil being one can literally be seen in the Veil's concept art. It's the Veil, and tangled roots... hovering over an empty sphere. It used to nest itself around the Traveler.
After hearing this for the 5th time, something dawned on me...
Didn't Fenchurch claim to have been inside the Traveler?
It'd be interesting to look back at and see if there is an explanation as to how or why.
the simplest explanation is he was BSing, but if he's actually been inside it'd be interesting to find out the details
"smelled like vanilla", which iirc, his words during the Revision Zero steps mentioned remembering a distinct smell to the pyramid tech uses with Revision Zero...
He was probably being hyperbolic about some vision he had.

I’m telling you- that woman from the original opening cutscene is going to be inside the traveller and she’s going to be the one the veiled statues are based on.
We couldn't feel the connection to the traveler for the first eight years of the game XD

Supposedly we're suppose to get a Veil Containment Dialogue bit every week till mid season. Idk, but that Idea of the Traveller and the Veil being once one thing is pretty exciting actually. It opens up a whole new realm of possibilities, and a potentially larger story line after Final Shape. I mean sure it sounds mundane until you start contemplating the larger implications, because for all intense and purposes the Traveler, the Veil, and the Witness are the Gods of Destiny's Universe. We're gonna kill one of them because it's treating the one that helps us. But then afterwards we're inside the Traveler, imagine the story beats and ideas that that can present. I'm excited

I'm curious where the final shape that we choose, once we defeat the Witness, will lead us. I'd imagine for gameplay, we won't lose our light and dark powers, but I wonder how it'll be rationalized in lore beyond "well now they're whole, so everyone can keep smoking them if they've gottem"
I’ve noticed recently that the Witness and it’s people parallel Mara and the Awoken. They are pretty much the opposite of each other. If you really think about it, the Witness wants to write it’s own reality which Mara pretty much did with the Distributary. Let’s not forget the singularity was created from a direct clash of the Traveler’s Light and Witness’ Darkness.
If i had to throw out a guess, i’d say that Veil Containment will kick back up after the seasonal story wraps up. I say that because i believe the same thing happened last season, but i could be wrong

I’m assuming the traveler and the veil will reunite in order to save the traveler at the end. Maybe even will plant it’s new reunited self into earth and become a huge tree of silver wings.

I agree that this entry basically just had no impact because of the reveal stream, but I guess at least it'll be nice for anyone catching up. If they'd been able to set this entry for the reset prior to the reveal it would have been cool, but I get why they didn't.

I would like to know what that key like, mast like structure on the Witness's Pyramid ship is, the thing that pointing DIRECTLY to the middle of the Portal the Witness cut in the side of the Traveller?
The link between the Veil and Traveler has already been discussed even before the Witness cutscene. Ahsa, speaking through Sloane, has a line about how that these two were unified at one point and became divided.
This should have been the lore for the final week of last season
I really prefer the "Vex Worshipped the Black Heart" idea
Trying to fix what lightfall lacked with a secondary mission in the form of Lore dumps, just further proves how bad lightfall is.....
You realise this was planned from the get-go and not damage control lol. It longer than a couple months to write and voice something like this in multiple languages and hook it up in-game so it all plays correctly.

Interesting. Though, didn’t the flashback state that the witness’ race tried to attach the veil to the traveler which made it flee? Wouldn’t make sense if it was a piece of it then unless it both were a part of something else.

They're trying to have Nimbus be relatable for people new to the game and people who don't take it very seriously. But yeah, every scene is painful as a result.

I gotta Ask" dose little things like that fact that the people on neomuna are supposed to be this golden age exvanced race, who surpasses anyone we have on earth years and years ago. This super advanced race of humans who cloud striders are supposed to be the Apex of. Dose it never bother anyone how dumb nimbus sounds? The way he speaks? Is like a child? He never knows about anything , osrious is always having to explain to him. We should not know more about anything then a cloud strider . This is bad writing if you ask me on Bungie part . Ever since we have been introduced to neomuna nothing about it's felt technology advanced . They talk like there from a Bad 50s area move. Or like they just came straight from rapture.
Bungie should smarten up the dialogue I mean Jesus think about how advanced races sound on startrek, or star wars.
