I found the same issue with the live mullet in the surf. Sometimes they really fight hard against my line and it feels like I have a bigger fish on there.
Really struggling with the beach conditions where I am this April.. I unfortunately don't have a lot of choice to go finding other beaches while I'm on holidays with the family.
Catching the mullet has been the big highlight of the trip so far for me and my 6 year old caught a 27cm whiting by himself on his own little 4ft rod.

I hated smoked fish. My mother used to cook Scotch Haddock and white sauce...hated it.
So I bought a $50.00 smoker from Bunnings. The bloke from Aussie Seafood House Durack, told me to smoke Mullet.
I did and it was delicious.
With Tailor we bleed it immediately and then fillet it, wrap in in al foil and BBQ it. Again delicious.

Great video Roger! Can you do a video on rock fishing? I generally fish off the beach and avoid the rocks where possible due to the frustration of getting snags and having to continually re-rig - any tips to successfully fish from the rocks and avoid the snags would be very helpful!
