I installed a Factory Edition yesterday. One other tip: turn off the gas and drain the carb. I forgot to drain the carb on my 2013 TRX450ER and after mounting and adjusting the Urmosi, I had flooded the heck out of the quad (duh!). Kind of felt dumb after that, so sharing so folks can avoid my moment of stupidity. Lol.
When i pick one on there website for make model and year. I dont see the option for trx450. Which did you pick? Assuming there mostly all the same. Also is it very noticeable it helps with thumb fatigue
@@rotz357the only TRX450s that come up are the 04/05 models. I’m guessing they don’t list the 06+ possibly because of their TPS (throttle position sensor), but not sure. I had to “hotwire” the TPS and the Urmosi is totally fine. I ordered the threaded model.
@@rotz357I have a Factory Edition in blue. I selected 2005 TRX450R, then blue. It is model number TR-5501. No adapter required. The OEM throttle cable threads right into the Urmosi.
Taking the banshee apart now. 80% complete. Was thinking about this subject. So I looked on your blogs and sure enough you have a good video about thumb throttles. I have a twists now. Maybe I will try this option
I’ve been looking for an all black throttle for my yfz ! Hopefully they one one for it and black levers but I heard aftermarket lever burn your clutch out or something, any recommendations?
Yes, it would be the same one I installed in this video. For your clutch lever I would go with a Works Connection lever or Pro Taper Profile. No, you will not burn up your clutch or something.
What made you get a LTR? I thought I'd never see you get one. My first quad was a 06 KFX 400 but I sold that years ago, I recently wanted to get another and I was so tempted to go with a LTR or maybe a YFZ but you helped me stick to my gut feeling and I got a 08 LTZ 400 Special Edition, which I am extremely happy I did. Just wanted your input, thanks.
I used to have one 15 years ago when they were still new. Sold it in 2010 and wish I didn't. Saw this low hour original unit pop up for a good price so I jumped on it. I have no intentions of getting rid of the Z or 250r. The LTR also shares a few things with the Z and 250r like oil filters, wheels/tires and I am pretty familiar with them.
I personally do not as the screws are so small it would suck for them to be welded in overtime from threadlocker. But you certainly could if you do it very sparingly.
I picked up one of these for my ltz400 I did not realize I need to get a different cable. Mine don’t have the threaded end. Do you know what cable will work? Thanks

Great advice for people with pumper carbs like the Keihin FCR on the TRX, YFZ, AND LTZ. That can definitely happen!

@chadt5584 so you dont need the cable adjuster? Only options i see is the orginal and factory. Which one did you get?

Do you use threadlock on the factory edition throttle shaft set screws?

I don't believe you will need a different cable for the EFI Z400. I am not sure what you mean by throttle year, they are all the same.
