  • Do you consider yourself an introvert, or an extrovert? If you feel that you don't identify fully with either of these personality types, then you might be an ambivert! Someone who falls in the middle of the introverted/extroverted spectrum is considered an ambivert, and have many of the traits of both introverts and extroverts, but adapt depending on the situation.

So I'm an more introverted ambivert^^
I don't talk much, if I don't feel it is somehow needed or if I have the feeling no one is listening anyways.
And I like my time just for myself maybe in front of my computer or just listening somewhere to music. Reading...whatever^^
But with the "right" people around me, I can be extroverted. Especially if I've got the feeling, my friend right next to me, needs me to be extroverted right now, so I will be.
If "my group" around me, doesn't know what to do, but I think, I know, I will let them know. I will or show them, what to do or where to go. I ask people I never saw before or (other situation) professors nobody really wants to ask anything. (Cause: Who wants to let them know, you don't know, what you're doing there, although you should have prepared your tasks^^"?)
Problem is: Some people are used to not hear anything from me, so they don't care to listen if I finally have something to say...=/
But some of those learned to listen.
(It helps to get tasks easier and/or faster done. Or done at all, so that they ask and have to wait for the answere. Next time, they migt listen at the beginning ;) )
Back then in school...I didn't feel the need to answere most of the questions. Some were just too stupid or too easy. At some questions there were so many ohters, who wanted to say something....what as well didn't motivate me to put my hand up.
But if I found a "worthy question" and not too many fingers up...the good thing at this: the most teachers would take then the pupils answere, who naver says anything^^
Well, I had one teacher, he was a good observer, he knew when I knew the answere to his question but didn't care to answere. Out of nowhere he just asked me directly as I did not put my finger up, but only if I indeed did know the right answere!
    He somehow saw it.
This always gave me worse grades than I could have got.
It made me wait longer to get a place at my university to get started with my studies, but it was a good thing. I had time to make an education to a medicinal technical laboratory assisstant. I made friends there as well, I had a nice time and got to know many of the things I need in my studies right know.
It took me afterwards some time to find a job, but to be honest, I don't know if I would have fit in those teams of very extroverted people anyways...in the end I found further away from home a laboratory wich took me. It was just the right one, I had a nice time and was able to put money aside, while I was enjoying working with the others!
I was there with people I could openly talk and be more extroverted without feeling uncomfortable =)
So yeah, I'm more introverted but can be extroverted, too. Sometimes it seems to be a bad thing, but in the end everything turns out to be just right =)
Just think for yourselves, the things you did in your live, wich you wished, would not have happened or you would have done something in another way, what would it really have changed? Maybe sometimes you only got to know someone you would not want to miss in your life, just because you did a "mistake".
    ......
Yeah...damn, I'm wirting too much, I shoud go to sleep now......
I could write so much more, but it wouldn't say anything more than this, I think.
So: Thanks for reading, have a nice evening / morning / day!
Aaaaaand about the video: It was great!
It made me think about so many things again and still could go on for so much longer...thinking of how much intro- and extroverted I am and...gnah, I'm starting again....
    Byyyyyye!

      Some things are born with
      Some things are learnable
      Some people are introvert
      Some people are extrovert
      Some people are wise
      Some people take wisdom
      Some people do
      Some people think
Be the person you wanna be. Don't believe everything you read. The new third type is there for a reason. The reason for not to be confused (I think) and adding an 'fictional' type of persons.

Let's hear it for the ambivert! I'm definitely one.
While I certainly edge towards introversion, I have learned over the years to tap a bit of extroversion when the situation justifies it. Factors include who's gathered, why we gathered, and when we gathered; and how meaningful and useful I think I can contribute, or how punished or rewarded I think I'll wind up. There are other factors, but these are the ones I n readily think of.
Life is not as simple as popular culture would have one accept, in my experience.

Thank you for this video, it clearly expresses how it is possible for me to so often feel strongly extro or introverted traits at different times bouncing back and forth or in a complimentary manner. For example I often enjoy chatting about nothing with people at the grocery store when I am well rested or can disconnect easily. However, if under extreme circumstances without being able to recharge alone I lose my ability to function and cope socially. That is why I generally classify as more introverted albeit with strong extrovert tendencies. My ability to interact socially is like a skyscraper if the base of introverted traits is weak the building will fall. Whereas I may crave attention and interaction if left alone too much I can cope with it better than being stuck in a 24 hour a day party. Thanks again for the video and just perhaps my comments will resonate with someone else that is trying to discover how they work.

If social/reserved is your only definition of extravert/introvert, then yes, many people will be ambiverts. That's not what Carl Jung meant when he said extraverts are oriented towards the object and introverts towards the subjective factor.

Yes true we all lie on both at some point and hence be ambriverts its just that others are more introverts than others on the higher end and others are extroverts while others are just balanced out. In highschool I was an introvert wasn't shy but wasn't open to all but very few people that I was used to. I used to say hi to everyone wasn't close to everyone if that makes sense just very few people but outside school I became an ambrivert I like people, meeting people, going out but still love my alone time

I dislike being introverted because they are introverted condition deprived themselves, something i love some part of introverted, they can think & love to think more, they understand their nearest, the relevance of their discussion is beautiful although most of peoples bore,I also love extroverted, they express how they actually feel, they are not hide themselves, they can fun and make people laugh to others,I like their quality of social connectivity. And i dislike introverted because they are Hesitated, they are always up and down when they need to meet the situation,so i want to overcome myself,i also slightly dislike extrovert because sometimes they looks very rude,i am finding a personally what is not like blunt, hesited and hide loving people like introverted & i dislike the rudeness of over extroverted peoples.
i like that personality who carried both quality of introverted & extroverted,i do not know what actually ambivert does.----মামুন.pb

I'm half introvert half ambivert. What I do is avoid being noticed, whether that involves talking, or not. I don't like talking, but if I have to, I can do it fairly calmly, as to not draw more attention to myself. When people are talking about something I'm interested in, and they ask me my opinion, I can't help but elaborate, instead of ending the conversation as quickly as possible, like usual. Although, the spotlight is not a place I find good even when its something I'm into. If I said nothing, or acted weird when someone asked me something, sooner or later, everyone would be talking to me, and the social nightmate would just keep getting worse. I act completely different at school than at home, and also when I'm alone. Ok, I'm done. Like if your the same.
