- Nicola Sturgeon left Douglas Ross red faced during a fiery debate in the Scottish Parliament today after she exposed his dismal voting record.
The Scottish Conservative leader and the First Minister clashed over reports earlier this week about NHS chiefs talking about making wealthy Scots pay for treatment in a two-tier system.

NHS England is worse than Scotland today it has been revealed that patients have been dying as ambulances face crippling delays at A&E with sick patients.
The Tories promised 40 new hospitals then it was reduced to 20 then it turned out in the end it was 6 this is due to shortage of GP’s and lack of doctors

Why have I waited 6 years for an operation I was also admitted to the new Southern General and spent 6 hours in a waiting room waiting for a bed keeping patients waiting in an ambulance 8 hours for a bed and just as footnote Sturgeon has closed 10 wards in Strathclyde this year but the Daily Record never reported that. Charging the wealthy for treatment by GOD the wealthy will be no where near the NHS If I could afford it I would be off NHS Scotland is in the bin.

In 2012, The SNP Government set new (very low) targeys for A&E, they have never been achieved in 10 years. The Health system in Scotland is akin to a 2nd world country. This is just one aspect of Government and they cannot cope with that. And they want independence, what a joke.
In Scotland 0.5% of the Scottish NHS budget goes to private health care.
In Tory control England 7% of NHS England budget goes to private health care.
People who self fund for private health care in Tory England the figure is 15% higher than in Scotland , in Labour run Wales the figure is 30% higher than Scotland.
The Tories in England have only offered the English NHS workers a 4% pay rise to avert a Strike.
The Scottish government has offered Scottish NHS workers between 7.5% -11.32% backdated to April to try and avert a strike.

Scotland's economy is based on the price of a barrel of oil. When the price is high, the books balance. When the price goes down, your economy is in recession. And when that happens who do you think will want to lend Scotland money? As for joining the EU, good luck. The Germans and French definitely are not looking to prop up more failed states.

Largest financial sector outside London, vast green energy potential including 28gw of tidal sitting there untapped,a massive gaming industry, ship building and manufacturing industries and that's just off the top of my head. We'd also move to reform tax loopholes that big business. I don't think it's as cut and dry to say we rely on oil and that's without mentioning the 72 billion the UK treasury is set to get from it in the next few years.

National Audit Office report about the Ajax armoured vehicles.
Ajax armoured vehicles 5 years late so far. £3.5 billion spent of a £5.5 billion contract for 586 Ajax armoured vehicles 26 delivered from American company General Dynamics MOD say they are still not fit for purpose.
The audit Office said that they don't know if the problems of vibration and noise that made soldiers ill will ever be fixed.
NAO report found that the MOD itself has no confidence in its own target for Ajax to be fully operational by 2025 they were meant to be delivered in 2017.
Meanwhile at a time of war in Europe the report says that the army continues to use old and obsolete equipment which aside from adding cost reduces our capabilities at a time when dangers are only increasing.

Laughable comments by the conservative minister when his own party are, and have been in discussions with America lobbyists on the sale of NHS in England and in fact have already sold patient records without the permission of those patients to American companies no doubt for needs analysis for future plans for a two tier health service spearheaded by the unelected leaders in Westminster. And by the way Douglas nurses are not on strike for the first time ever they went on strike in 2010 I should know as I was there, and we were ignored by the Westminster government then also. Isn't it time the conservative government stopped treating anyone who is not raking in hundreds of thousands of pounds in income annually as though they are uneducated and ignorant or does their arrogance really know no bounds.

The real decline in the NHS started with Kenneth Clark in the 1980’s, just when the likes of General Practice was looking good, followed by Blair’s New Labour which was in effect just another form of Toryism. Instead of increasing the numbers of qualified doctors and nurses to meet the predicted increase in demand, they irresponsibly introduced this thing called “skill mix” which looked good on paper, but which inexorably formed an invisible wall between patients and doctors to the extent that continuity of patient care has now virtually disappeared. It really is the saddest thing.
In 2008-2009 the then Labour Government proposed to open 3 new doctor taining centres albeit in England. The British Medical Association who represent doctors said NO. Reason: this would undermine the profession!
@@Vee-jc1qh I strongly suspect that the training centres you’re talking about were deemed to be substandard by the BMA. Even today, in longstanding Medical Schools, political interference has resulted in drastic, quick fix, destructive changes in the way medical students and junior doctors are chosen and trained. I’m generalising of course, but, from personal experience, junior doctors (not including my own GP) show no interest in continuity of care preferring what I call “hit and run” medicine by working part time or doing locums. Conclusion:- politicians and medical administrators have not the foggiest notion about providing good medical care.
@@davidflockhart4730 Agree with your comments on continuity of care and the uptake in locums. The use of agencies in hiring same as well as bank nursing. Many GP surgeries are now run as LLPs, a knife in the standard of care. Many friends who have sons and daughters having completed their medical studies, completed their time in the NHS leaving for eg Australia in order to have a better life/work balance.
As you have stated, it is truly sad, and sickening, to watch the collapse of a care system which provided a standard of care from cradle to grave which was value for money in terms of a healthy and productive environment for the majority. What the future holds is nothing short of an abysmal dereliction of duty by those in power to protect its people.
