    EDIT: According to the haters and trolls, my channel sucks, is full of clickbait and I'm an idiot that knows nothing.
    That's honestly really surprising because im rather confused why these haterswould take the time to reply and also where they read that i actually care what they think or say. I'm actually here for all of you other amazing individuals.
    So I wanted to post the question of how CIG could begin to focus on 1.0 in a more affective way. Let me know your thoughts below!

      Lots of bugfixing and polish to the point where 1) 1.0 can be recommended without reservations to people outside of the playerbase and 2) the same goes for subsequent patches. It can't be that 1.0 is stable and as bug-free as possible, and you tell people to try SC out, and then the next patch is again like the patches we've been battling with for years and years.

      It depends on their pricing model. If they do free to play, the common consumer will be more tolerant of bugs. They could release earlier. If they’re selling expensive ships to common folk, they will have to offer a PREMIUM experience. No bugs and a near perfect UI.

      No point focusing on 1.0 until Dynamic Server Meshing is working as intended. It needs to be stable, seamless, and essentially invisible... then talk of 1.0 can go ahead.

    SC development wasn't a rollercoaster.

I told my son I would get him a guitar for his birthday but after this delay I explained to him that he'll get to play this game too one day! 4.0 coming will in no way magically reignite my faith in the project. Marketing and Chris rob-erts are the two aspects of CIG that have slowly created my hatred for the company. I think only a serious focus on adding proper gameplay will get me existed again. They have dragged out ship sales and the dream for way too long. We all need to stop spending money so CIG are forced to finally use new gameplay as marketing.

    • @Hav0k
      @Hav0k  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've never had the feeling that their "dragging out ship sales" and the dream for way too long was ever intentional. But instead something that was rather unavoidable with the many features the game needed and the growing level of ambition and scope of the game.
      But I understand that some backers would need more convincing in order to return. Eventually if you take too long to come out with something, you're bound to be forced to work harder to win people over.

    • @madhax47
      @madhax47 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Desenrad I agree with you. Too much marketing bs. The problem I see is that they can't add gameplay. They have a game that runs like a 3 legged dog with no legs. Thes can't even get npc in cities to behave like they should. Unless the finally get server meshing to run there's just no point. I hope they will push this out soon, but seeing what they delivered so far I think it's not after 3.24. More like in 2026

  • @essentialasa
    @essentialasa 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

    I agree that this is exactly what they should do! Don't worry about adding features to the PU quarterly. They should get the PU play-ably stable and then commit to every patch from them on being as bug free as possible at release.
    If that means more time between updates so be it but at least then they can get everything to the state they want it before trying to push it to meet a deadline.
    The problem is they need selling points to go with their annual events and new updates do that well. My counter is, if free flights were stable and not full of crashes and bugs more people would join during every free fly event. People don't quit due to missing features. They quit because it's broken.

    • @Hav0k
      @Hav0k  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Free Flys being stable would be a pretty popular experience that would bring a lot of people to the game. There are some features that I think would be beneficial to be in the quarterly patches. Such as base building and/or crafting.

      @Hav0k there are some features yeah. But there are also a lot of features that simply won't. Especially when some players have invested thousands and will not have access to s42 until they buy that as well.

    • @Hav0k
      @Hav0k  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Hav0k yes, however they eventually set up two separate pools and at this point most of the investment has been for SC not 42. most backers don't really even care about 42 beyond pointing out that there is no reason that game should still be in development after this much time

      Most backers joined long after the project began. In 2015 they were still around 300-400k backers, not the 5 or so million they have now.

  • @Mr_Beaubles
    @Mr_Beaubles 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I know! Just sptiballing, here... but hear me out. What if... what if they assign a small team to JUST fixing bugs in the LIVE build? It seems like that is something they haven't tried yet. I'm sure less ships being broken, and less ship-based bugs that are easily reproducable on any machine, would give new players the ability to actually use 100% of the ship they just bought, rather than leaving it broken for multiple years. Im sure that might help...
    Or... maybe they could roll back the 3.23 update, which made combat incredibly slow and boring.
    Also... they could roll back 3.24. I'm sure the playerbase wasn't just DYING to get their hands on a paletjack and load up a UPS truck with boxes when they went to play a spaceship simulator... but who knows?! Maybe CIG is right and im wrong, and what players really do enjoy, are the slow speed combat and playing UPS Warehouse Simulator mechanics.

    • @Hav0k
      @Hav0k  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That actually used to be how they handled the game during the 2.0 and 3.0 days. Then they began heavily focusing on SQ42 and other patch releases. It still had issues, but they did fix bugs more often.
      Having cargo more physicalized is actually really engaging. But they do need to make cargo loading more fun. If they make it more fun, then it won't be as tedious.
      And MM will slowly get better. It's not great at first cause it's a whole new flight model. Every flight model was pretty terrible at first and slowly got better with more iterations.
      I've got hope for the project. I just want to see a lot more movement towards getting more features for the 1.0 release.

  • @--Richard--
    @--Richard-- 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Pretty sure all studios with working MMOs are also supporting a game in a live environment while continuing to develop the game's features and content. Elder Scrolls Online for example releases a major and minor patch every year.
    Jared is just spouting mealy mouthed excuses

    • @Hav0k
      @Hav0k  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The biggest difference is that they have all their core features in the game. And those updates, like Gold Road, simply add new locations, rewards, quests and challenges.
      It's not like adding new game play loops, ships that actually have damage models, different flight dynamics that also change in atmosphere, internal components and different systems such as the resource network and various interactables, and many other gameplay features.
      It's quite a bit more complex than what ESO delivers every year. It's very much an honest excuse that is indicative of the unique problem that they face.

    And when SQ42 gets pushed to December 2025?

    • @Hav0k
      @Hav0k  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Given that there's no online component, it substantially reduces the complications of getting the game released. If @ SQ42 isn't released by Q1 2025 at the very latest, i would be extremely surprised. And there's reasons for this, if you take for example all of the games that have publishers that basically force other developers to release in a poor state, CIG has had years to be able to develop it and it's relatively straightforward.
      Honestly, we know that they've been mostly focused on SQ42 since the beginning, which they wouldn't push one of the biggest benefits to getting significantly more players into SC by releasing a half baked single player game far later after it's official announcement.
      We'll probably have a hard release date put out at during CitizenCon that will 100% release because their success relies on it now.

  • @saleseng
    @saleseng 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I will give CIG credit for trying to give the game a facelift, but unfortunately, after playing the PTU extensively and now live with 3.24 it is simply a repackaged Stanton, but with the same boring, dead end type of stuff the only way this game truly gets reinvigorated is by adding several not just Pyro new star systems so players can actually tap into that sense of adventure that a game like this is supposed to offer. Sorry, but from the humble box mission of yesteryear to more of the same with the tractor beam is just not cutting it for a game in
    Competition with others that offer so much more in terms of the genre….
