  • Creating "Honey Of A Geode" with mixed media and resin. This tutorial lesson shares how Moonkusser Art achieved a beautiful and clean stained wood sides of the cradled birch panel. The artwork features several Brazilian Honey Calcite Crystals in the geode center that give off a great warm vibe and assist with the manifestation of your desires and dreams. Finishing the details with art markers and explaining my process of selection that you might find helpful.

    WOW ❤️ I'm currently obsessed with the idea of doing resin projects on small and large scales (jewelry to tables) after wanting to try it for 20 years. I love this idea of stained wood and this is the best geode tutorial I've seen so far.

    I know this video i way old but just a tip for using polly .... use a scotch bright pad to smooth it instead of sanding when it is possible .... works great .... I love all you work :)

    I ordered some brown stones, and they were so exspensive?? The amount they send me was so small. Where do u get your??

      The crystals (Brazilian Honey Calcite) were bought at a specialty shop in my area. I was like a kid in a candy store because they were having a end of year sale when I was there. Bought quite a few different ones that day.

    That Golden product/compound you used...I like their products (used to paint concrete statues)... you said it was a compound, looked here for a photo or link of it, but cannot find what it is... please and thank you...another beautiful piece!!

      I did not do a flood coat on this piece after markers were added. I used artist grade which are stable and won't come off if touched or wiped in cleaning. That said, I other works such as Crystal Wave - th-cam.com/video/18zLiomDjOo/w-d-xo.html I did finish with a flood coat. Your artistic choice!     How come you sanded it after the polyurethane and not before? Sorry this is all new to me.

      The moisture from putting the coat of polyurethane on makes the wood fibers swell as the wood absorbs it. When the first coat dries it is slightly rough. Sanding, cleaning, and applying another coat leaves a smooth and shiny finish.

    Is it a normal masking tape?

      No. It is painters tape. It pulls off painted surfaces without leaving marks.

      Could only do wood stained sides with a wooden artist panel. Geode resin artwork can end up being heavy from all the product and cause sag on a canvas.
