Same situation. I'm vegan and my parents are not. So if they cook for me they don't know how to cook a balanced vegan meal. And there's this tendency of doing the same thing for everyone and eating all together. I've been cooking my meals and planning my diet more and more for the last two years. And lately I started the FODMAP diet to heal my gut issues and I'm now finally 100% in charge of my own diet. And though the diet is restrictive, it feels so liberating to prepare everything myself. Abby said Madeline could add chia or hemp seeds to her breakfast but before that she said she checked the brand of oatmeal and it already has chia and hamp seeds in it?
It's important to remember that you can have different sources spread throughout the day. I use both chia and flax in my oatmeal for texture and flavor. I typically have avocado with a lunch salad, and usually olive or avocado oil with some cooked vegetable with dinner. A handful of nuts goes well as a side with breakfast, lunch, or as a snack. Tahini is great drizzled over a salad as well; I have that frequently. There are many ways to get in your healthy fats.

Mostly I'm thinking about micronutrients and toxins hahaha. But loved the research on LDL and HDL. Because that is such a big topic considering heart health in the long term. I actually looove cooking for myself. Maybe because I still live at home, so when I cook only for me, I make meals that I really like and because I don't cook regularly I'm still really excited by it and love trying new things 😊
I am also obssessed with her hair 🥰
That's great! And me too 😊
Same situation.
Besides, i got used to it. And I'm always home with online classes because of covid, so not like the diet is boicoting my social life cause I don't have one LOL.
Anyway I feel like I've finally learned how to manage my diet and I'm finally getting all my nutrient goals (wich was not happening before... 🙄)
I was half watching this and thought she was just oil pulling, but then i realized she ATE the oil
😂
I love Madelaine my doctor recommended I do the coconut oil thing to go help with my crones disease it helped a lot
😊❤️
Can you explain why they recommended coconut oil for crohns? Thanks Xx
@@peachoxo4099 because its a natural oil and it has been proven to help with flare ups I used for awhile now and have had no flare ups
That’s awesome for you!
@@Spooky_boo22 interesting....your comment has made me want to look into this for myself
I really enjoyed listening to your breakdown of coconut oil! I come from a biological sciences background and have taken a couple courses in biochemistry and was able to follow along and understand fairly easily. Also thank you for showing the papers in the video!! I know they’re in the description, but seeing them in the video is a nice reminder that they’re there :)
I'm glad that' shelpful!
Just being honest I would never click on a video longer than 30ish mins. I don’t come to TH-cam with that kinda time
My right ear is feeling left out...
Me checking my damn earphones like a fool
Same here
Abbey, I just wanted to let you know that your videos have helped me so much without even trying! I found Linda Sun because of your review on her diet, and watching all of her videos has really helped me on a journey towards loving my body and being mindful about my health. Your intuitive eating videos have also helped me a lot, so I just wanted to thank you and let you know! ❤️ have a great day, much love from Guatemala
She is sooo sweet, my favourite TH-camr ever!
Thank you so much for sharing! I'm so glad ❤️
This video was fantastic! Great points made as usual! And your hair looks stunning with the black top in this video 😊
Thank you!
Loved how detailed and kind you were. The thorough explanation really shows how professional you are + love your sense of humor. Def subscribed 💪
The fact that I got a noom ad before this makes me mad at the yt algorithm
Oh NO! I am so sorry, I will look into if I am able to change this
@@AbbeysKitchen not your fault abbey, just very annoying 💓
I got an ad for mayonnaise lol
@@AbbeysKitchen is noom bad?
Can you review Kiana Docherty’s video “The Toxic World of Tess Holliday and Fat Activism”? She mentioned you in it and i’d love to hear your thoughts on it!!
Second this
Yes, I'm really curious to hear what Abbey has to say on that
Definitely! It was a great video in my opinion, so I would love to hear a professional's thoughts on it.
I'll have a look at that
Yes! That was a good video, her channel is pretty insightful. Would love Abbey's take on disordered eating in relation to obesity.
First of all, amazing video once again. Secondly YOUR HAIR looks stunning in this 🥵
Oooh, I’m so early! BTW ILYYYYYY!!!!!!! You are so inspirational, educational, and I’m in eating disorder recovery because of you. Thank you. 😊🥰❤️
Thank you for sharing, I'm so glad 😊❤️
@@AbbeysKitchen of course! I was actually inspired by your review of Linda Sun’s what I eat in a day. I continued watching both of you, and I am recovering from anorexia, and trying to re-learn how to communicate with my body. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This is a reaction to a vegan full eating in a day so i wished the alternatives you mentioned where 100% plant-based.
Cryotherapy costs $30 in Troy, Michigan for either full body or localized with a wand. I do both, but I like to get localized done on my arthritic hand, and it helps greatly!
Glad that works for you!
Happily surprised by Madelaine’s video! She seems like such a nice person :)
Agreed!
The American College of Cardiology went back on their claims about saturated fat. They say there’s no reason to limit it.

Thank you beautiful angel for covering this 💛
Great video, & love the hair! It's such a cute length :) Thanks for always making great content!
Thank you!!
I like having shorter videos sometimes and longer videos when the content needs it. Love your content Abby!!
Thank you for the feedback!
Thank you Abbey! Transitioning to a vegan diet is so hard. Your input is always so comprehensive and easy to digest!
Thank you! I'm so glad
I really like watching a video of someone where you have pretty much all positive things to say.
😊👍
Celery with peanut butter smooshed into the groove is the BEST way to eat it, and you get all that great fibre 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Yum!!
In India coconut oil is prescribed for PTSD and known to be good when taken first thing in the morning. It's an ayurvedic remedy :/ it also helps with inflammation and boosts gorgeous skin.
ooh that coconut oil made me cringe! lol! 😂
loved this review Abbey, really into this shorter video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Abby you look stunning . I can’t believe you just gave birth love ❤️. We’re so happy for you and your loved ones . Especially little ( E) 🙏🏻. I’ve watched your show since day one . Omg cantelope melon is my absolute favourite fruit EVER!!!!!!!! I can't understand who doesn't like it!
You are glowing!! Your skin looks beautiful!
Thank you!!
Abby said Madeline could add chia or hemp seeds to her breakfast but before that she said she checked the brand of oatmeal and it already has chia and hamp seeds in it?
Loved your comment on celery juice, sums it up perfectly 👌👌
Hey Abbey! Love your content and would really like to see a video on vegan supplements :)
Thanks for the suggestion!
First video of yours I've watched. I like your positivity, gentle voice, and balanced nutritional advice. #subscribed 🙂
Love these videos! I would love to see you review Hanna Oberg or Heidi Somers :)
Your rant about green juice made me instantly subscribe
If I put chia seeds and hemp seeds in my oatmeal then should I still add a nut butter for healthy fat or do I get enough from the seeds??
It's important to remember that you can have different sources spread throughout the day. I use both chia and flax in my oatmeal for texture and flavor. I typically have avocado with a lunch salad, and usually olive or avocado oil with some cooked vegetable with dinner. A handful of nuts goes well as a side with breakfast, lunch, or as a snack. Tahini is great drizzled over a salad as well; I have that frequently. There are many ways to get in your healthy fats.
I like the shorter ones, very cool to mix it up if you feel like it. It's also cool you're listening to your audience 😌
Thank you!
Everyone talking about the coconut oil... I enjoy eating coconut oil. It's quite tasty.
Me too lol tastes like cookie butter
shortest videos are great! I really enjoy the feedback on Madelaine video :) and her noodle dinner looks delishhhhhhhh
Agreed!
Coconut oil is primarily produced by the Philippines and Indonesia. Shipping has a negative impact on marine life. Eat locally sourced food.
I don't mind the longer videos. If it is worth putting time in, why not? It helps when you refer to other videos to keep the runtime shorter, and your remarks about well-established points are amazing. "Celery juice is just green water" Great!
I also love how you present your literature reviews, very insightful and responsible and still easy to understand considering the dense topics. I'd love to see more research reviews on controversial topics!
Thank you!! Do you have any particular suggestions?
@@AbbeysKitchen Yes! I have some:
- the effect of fruit on the immune system. Is there a thing as too much fruit and what causes vitamin overdose/dificiëncy + recognizable symptoms?
- Sources and science behind vitamin B12. Specifically targeted towards vegans. What does the literature say about the effectiveness of B12 sources and absorption in the gut?
- Is all iron in diet the same? Looking at heam iron in meat vs otherwise bound iron in leafy greens.
I'm also wondering if there is any long term data about the effects of antibiotics used in the meat and dairy industries and if we can already link that to significant health issues.
Mostly I'm thinking about micronutrients and toxins hahaha. But loved the research on LDL and HDL. Because that is such a big topic considering heart health in the long term. You already made a video on sugars, so perhaps a video on proteins and protein sources about different amino acids and how to get those could be fun and interesting.
Anyway, love what you're doing and thank you for your reply! Hope you'll have a great time with the newborn and I'm looking forward to your next video!
I would love for you to review Gittermary Johansen - she is a sustainable, zero waste TH-cam’s who cooks pretty much entirely from zero waste, locally sourced foods and ones she has dumpster dived!
Her diet seems great but I’d love to know more about dumpster diving and nutrition.
She is also based in Denmark! So a different part of the world to your normal reviews.
Love her videos!
I'll have a look!
I have to admit I love your longer videos, but tbh I'll watch anything you put out 😂
Thank you!
