Yes! I think there's actually an episode of Ellen where Tiffany Haddish talks about wanting to grow a garden with her hero Oprah, then Oprah shows up and Tiffany loses her mind.
Love it! My father in law grows oranges, lemons, tomatoes … lots of things- love going back to Greece and finding his fresh produce and someone’s daily catch on our plate.
Interesting video idea: could you do a video on how some children’s shows have tackled weight and body image? As a millennial, I feel like multiple shows from my childhood had episodes about this topic (That’s So Raven, Lizzie McGuire, The Suite Life of Zach and Cody, Doug, etc). It could be fun, nostalgic and informative!
She has such a balance between hood cuisine (speaking from someone who grew up poor in black communities) and elite taste from her found success!! Love it!!
My favorite Tiffany Haddish interview was the one where she talked about going to the Met Gala that year. She'd been the year before, so she knew the food was more aesthetic than filling. So she fried up a bunch of chicken and smuggled it in her purse. When people she met found out, she ended up giving most of away. So she was planning to bring even more the next year.

Corned beef and cabbage is an Irish-American thing. In the 17th century, Ireland was the main producer of corned beef, which due to it's preserved nature, was used in the British army. Irish corned beef was used a lot in the new world and it was mostly consumed by slaves which made others eschew it as food for the poor. Poor Irish Americans immigrants consumed it a great deal along with cabbage because it was cheap and that's how it became a thing.

For the first time in my life, I've not felt shame or guilt if I decided to have a cookie or some potato chips. I now keep snack foods in the house that I used to avoid. I used to feel like a failure if I ate too many calories or gave in to my cravings, but not anymore. I know this method isn't for everyone, but it, in combination with Abbey's videos, has helped me.
@@lolliswankette3251 that sounds like such a tough way to grow up. I completely understand the struggle of growing up around family members who are obsessed with weight and project that onto you. I see you ❤️
Love a good turmeric ginger tea, mostly when I'm feeling a bit under the weather, but I am 100% with you on the whole not caffeinated enough for me. I struggle to understand/have so much respect for people who do not need copious amounts of caffeine first thing in the morning. They are superhuman to me. I literally cannot talk to anyone or do anything else until my coffee is poured 😂 And yess...fruit by the foot was my jam...that and those soda-licious "fruit" snacks. Now I'm aging myself...
The frito pie Abby refers to we call a "traveling taco" in northern Pennsylvania. I remember traveling from the Philly area to amusement parks and always wanting the traveling taco for my lunch. It was a bag of fritos with all the fixins 😀. Wouldn't have it everyday but it's always a fun staple when we visit family
Corned beef and cabbage is NOT a classic 'Irish meal'. Boiled ham and cabbage IS a classic meal in Ireland; corned beef is an American thing completely.
Hi Abbey! Love the video per usual. is there any way the audio of the video clips and your audio can be made to have the same volume? With my headphones, i find myself adjusting the volume quite a bit since your footage is quiet and tiffany’s is louder :-) thanks so much! and thanks for the free content 😍
My initial reaction to the peppermint and pickle was also a cringe, but after reflecting, I remembered that mint and cucumber are a pretty classic culinary pairing....so...maybe she's on to something? I'm curious now.
I love how unapologetically excited she is about food! 💗 Idk about the peppermint pickle though, I’ve never heard of that and I have heard of koolaid pickles here in the south.
Love your videos Abbey! Would you consider doing a video on eating for your mental health? (re gut and brain health, what vitamins are important for anxiety and depression etc etc). I'm sure that would be helpful for a lot of people :)
A Koolickle is a southern classic. Generally, pickles that are soaked in fruit punch Koolaid. Commonly found next to a pig's feet jar or pickled eggs on countertops at hole in the walls and corner stores. However, you can now get them online. Tabitha Brown has shared her finds online in some of her videos. Not bad. BTW Tiff is from California but during the great migration, many Missisipans and other southerners brought their culture with them and keep connections with their southern family. That is why they have really good soul food spots. A really cool history.
Those Harper’s Bazaar interviews are usually pretty sus. Celebrities basically share what their managers and publicists tell them to share. And, fortunately, comedians aren’t pressured to look and live “super healthy.” Tiffany Haddish seems to be eating a combination of the food she grew up on and the foods she was introduced to as an adult in Hollywood. I think that her diet is probably fairly balanced. In the sense that she’s not eating the “junk food” in excess, and is eating whole food and processed food in equal measure.
This was a great video! How refreshing to see a "normal" eater, just eat what you want, what you like and feel like. I'll take a pass on the pickel, peppermint candy thingy though, that just sounded gross to me🙈 Could you do a video on anti inflammatory diet? Also thyroid diet whatnots would also be interesting.
I’m with Tiffany!!! I dislike oatmeal, pancakes, smoothie bowl, and anything sweet for breakfast. I grew up in South East Asia and sweet meal is not a thing. We only have sweet desserts and snacks. When I first started living in America, the concept of cereal or oatmeal is so bizarre to me.
Don't think I can be any earlier that 7 seconds after posting 😄 I saw an older video pop up and thought to myself, she must have a new one by now. Clicked and saw she just posted. Then I realized it was 12 😄
I LOVE chicken and dumplings. I love a creamy version, but I’ve also made versions that have a lighter broth like chicken noodle soup and ✨k i s s i e s✨
Honestly, I don't think I could ever answer a question like "what I eat in a day" because it differs so much. Sometimes I'm eating just, veggies and sandwiches, sometimes I make japanese, sometimes I'm in the mood for southern comfort food (what I grew up on), and sometimes I'm just hungry for anything really. I was always a picky eater growing up so once I became an adult and expand on what I liked and not always had to deal with what I didn't like, I just became a better eater overall. I don't always eat healthy everyday, but I think it balances out over time.
Pickle with peppermint was one of my childhood favorite snacks. My friends and I would put a peppermint stick in the middle of a large pickle, eat and "drink" the pickle and pickle juice. Good times.
In Europe, AZO (synthetic) dyes are mostly banned. There are only 10 that, after thorough examination, are allowed to be used in food and whenever they are used, there has to be a warning notice ("may have an adverse effect on activity and attention in children") on the packaging. Before that law, they were in everything. From Joghurt to Soda, to candy, to margarine etc. Hence, if one fed one's kids a lot of these foods, I can see that there might have been adverse effects. But since then, food manufacturers have been replacing food colorings with mostly natural dyes (e.g. elderflower juice concentrate) to avoid this warning notice.
Hi Abbey! I love your videos. I have a question. My brother is trying to lose weight and he already lost 20 pounds! However, I always noticed whenever he is on a diet and exercise he can't eat more then one full meal a day. Is that normal? My brother wants to eat but he gets full so much faster now so he can't finished the plate. I do admit that I can be heavy handed when I serve people food. So am I the problem? Should I just serve him smaller portions so he'll eat 3 standard meal? I'm afraid that he is not getting enough nutrients when he only eats one meal day. I know you are not an actual doctor, but what would you recommend?
I tried the double chocolate built bar and it was gross 🤮 don’t know about the other flavors but I think the influencers really try to make them sound delicious
I am in a bunch of fitness groups and they are pretty popular but it is either love/ hate thing. Most people like the texture of musketeers bar type but some people hate it . These are like a super chewy musketeers and I personally don’t hate it but they aren’t good to me. I prefer a crunchy nut based protein bar myself
Those GHG charts are wrong. Beef is 2% of USA GHG, agriculture is 14% beef uses less water than almonds, less fossil fuel to farm and transport, and saturated fats are no longer an item of concern on the 2020 report from the FDA.
laughing because my homemade frito pies a lot like your suggestion- i make a little salad of cucumber, radish, peppers, tomato, avocado, green onion and crispy lettuce (everything but the lettuce and avocado are your basic taco truck salsa bar fixings) and put that right on top... abbey gets me
I’m curious if you would go over carbon emissions from beef compared to other global things?? I am not saying less beef isn’t being more environmentally friendly but maybe a comparison would show some huge contributors to global carbon emissions.
Tiffany Haddish? Couldn't click fast enough lol One small note about the research links though, could you put the titles next to the links in the future? I wanted to look at the type 2 diabetes heritability paper and it was kind of hard to see which link lead to which study.
Love your videos! I always find your videos have some volume issue?? Abbys talk over portions are very low while the interviewee is loud AF! Anyone else have this problem??
Actually, peppermint sticks in hot pickles has always been a popular treat at Chicago carnivals and parties (back in the day). My mom told me she used to eat them all the time in the '70s and '80s! 😊 ...I was never a fan, lol.
I caught a parasite a few years ago after traveling. It was the WORST. I can attest to the fact that I needed standard meds along with the supplements--including wormwood to clear the little buggers from my system. I can't believe some people willingly put themselves through this. It was awful.
My favorite salads are grilled chicken Caesar pasta salad, spinach & chicken salad with a berry vinaigrette, & tuna pasta salad with peas, carrots, & celery in it. Also, peppermints in pickles is amazing. It’s something that is apparently popular among some black communities in the US, intrigued I tried it loved it. I was doing research on Kool-aid pickles when I found this information on accident
ABBY! Loving the videos but I have to correct you here! Cornbeef is certainly not an Irish thing, I'm Irish and never in my life have I had it! 😀 it's bacon and cabbage we have! So like roast ham and cabbage

I love pickled things (specifically pickled okra) dipped in chocolate pudding. Pickles and pickle juice pair with a lot of things. (shout out to pickle juice snowcones!)
If you don’t like lamb, goat is in the same food family, much less smell (especially if you marinate overnight with citrus and some good herbs and spices) - also venison (if you have a friend or family member who hunts on their property)
I’m really curious about the food dye and adhd thing you mentioned! I was banned from red food dye because it affected my behaviour majorly when I was a kid but I’ve never even suspected I might have adhd 😅 but my brother with diagnosed add didn’t seem to be impacted by them. Weird!
My brother and I both have ADHD (his is the classic, mine is the quiet/ADD kind) and back in the 90's my mom totally took advantage of the whole "red dye makes kids hyper thing" to not buy most sweet cereal and any candy. I'd ask for like Kix cereal with berries (Kix was marketed as "low sugar") and my mom would say "that's got red dye, do you want your brother to be more hyper?" and I'd have to say no. Honestly as far as I've ever been able to tell it doesn't bother either of us.

Thank you so much for sharing, I'm so glad my videos have been helpful for you ❤️
@@lolliswankette3251 that sounds like such a tough way to grow up.
I totally understand!
So glad to see you talking about the environmental impact of meat!
Glad that was helpful!
That sounds great!
I got something like this in upstate NY, called a walk away taco. A bag of doritos with pulled pork, BBQ sauce and coleslaw. Not bad for a water park!
@@susanbartlett5052 Ooh that sounds amazing!
Corned beef and cabbage is NOT a classic 'Irish meal'. Boiled ham and cabbage IS a classic meal in Ireland; corned beef is an American thing completely.
Thanks for letting me know!
It’s an Irish American thing. The people who started the tradition in the US were Irish immigrants.
Hi Abbey! Love the video per usual. is there any way the audio of the video clips and your audio can be made to have the same volume? With my headphones, i find myself adjusting the volume quite a bit since your footage is quiet and tiffany’s is louder :-) thanks so much! and thanks for the free content 😍
Tiffany is just so naturally hilarious.
Yes, try the peppermint and the pickle. You have to let the peppermint sit for a bit first. I stick a peppermint stick down the middle of mine.
I'll have to try that!
@@AbbeysKitchen I think that would be an awesome "reacting to celebrity snacks" video 🤔
My initial reaction to the peppermint and pickle was also a cringe, but after reflecting, I remembered that mint and cucumber are a pretty classic culinary pairing....so...maybe she's on to something? I'm curious now.
I definitely have to try it!
I love how unapologetically excited she is about food! 💗 Idk about the peppermint pickle though, I’ve never heard of that and I have heard of koolaid pickles here in the south.
Agreed!
Love your videos Abbey! Would you consider doing a video on eating for your mental health? (re gut and brain health, what vitamins are important for anxiety and depression etc etc). I'm sure that would be helpful for a lot of people :)
On my list to discuss this!
Great video Abbey! FYI, the sound balance is pretty bad though. Some super loud parts and super quiet parts.
So sorry about that, thank you for letting me know
I thought it was my cellphones problem, had to go up & down with the volume a lot
For sure
This was a great video! How refreshing to see a "normal" eater, just eat what you want, what you like and feel like.
I'll take a pass on the pickel, peppermint candy thingy though, that just sounded gross to me🙈
Could you do a video on anti inflammatory diet? Also thyroid diet whatnots would also be interesting.
On my list to do this!
@@AbbeysKitchen you must have the worlds longest list 🙈🤣
Never been so happy to not see lemon water ✅
😂same!
Petition for Abbey to do a whole video of trying peoples’ weird food combinations 😂
Awesome video, as always. My husband always makes scrabbbles eggs with hot dogs so I was so vibing with her breakfasts ideas.
Sounds great!
Pan fried hot dogs and scrambled eggs slap so hard on toast!
Omg, apricot seeds... absolutely delicious and as a kid I consumed them in amounts that make me wonder how I hadn't caught cyanide poisoning.
Are they not hard to bite?
Omg that baby shark workout....YES! My 2 year old is gonna be so excited!!
😊👍
I’m with Tiffany!!! I dislike oatmeal, pancakes, smoothie bowl, and anything sweet for breakfast. I grew up in South East Asia and sweet meal is not a thing. We only have sweet desserts and snacks. When I first started living in America, the concept of cereal or oatmeal is so bizarre to me.
Very interesting!
She is genuine and real. I love Tiffany haddish ❤️
Don't think I can be any earlier that 7 seconds after posting 😄 I saw an older video pop up and thought to myself, she must have a new one by now. Clicked and saw she just posted. Then I realized it was 12 😄
That is really early !
Same🤪
Me with 4 min 😂
Love that you're early! 😊
omg i would love this uploads EVERY DAAAAY!! LOVE YOU ABBEEEYYY! :))) i've been following you for such a long time
So glad you enjoy the videos! ❤️
I must say, I did not expect a lesson on the symptoms of parasites when I clicked on a video of Tiffany Haddish! 😆 Only Abbey!!
I love your intro, you found a way to show off mama life without exploiting your kids :)
Thank you ❤️
This was such a fun video. Tiffany has such enthusiasm for food -- it's not all duty for her.
Totally!
Yayyy! Love your content Abbey! I watch your videos as self care 🥰
I LOVE chicken and dumplings. I love a creamy version, but I’ve also made versions that have a lighter broth like chicken noodle soup and ✨k i s s i e s✨
Sounds amazing!
Im here eating my broccoli, pea, basil, garlic, walnut and pistachio wanna be pesto with gnocci and sun dried tomato. Good lunch entertainment 😂 😂 😂
omg i looove gnocchi!! Bon appetite!!
@@madeupname3008 aww thank you :) :) :)
That sounds absolutely incredible
Sounds amazing!
sounds good!
Pickle with peppermint was one of my childhood favorite snacks. My friends and I would put a peppermint stick in the middle of a large pickle, eat and "drink" the pickle and pickle juice. Good times.
Almonds, dried apricots and peanut butter pretzel bits… SOOO GOOD!
Yum!
I love Tiffany Haddish. This was such a treat!
Most down to earth video from a dietitian! I laughed so much during lol!
Interesting, thanks for the info!
I ceated the perfect post-workout snack for me :) A lower-in-fat-than-other-milkshakes-banana-milkshake with oats 🤤😍
Sounds amazing!
I tried the double chocolate built bar and it was gross 🤮 don’t know about the other flavors but I think the influencers really try to make them sound delicious
Right? I'm suspicious I've never had a good protein bar
Interesting because I actually really like the double chocolate. My favorite is the salted caramel.
I haven’t tried Built Bars yet but Power Crunch and Fit Crunch bars are pretty good.
oh man, I love her! this is the best one I've ever seen!
Those GHG charts are wrong. Beef is 2% of USA GHG, agriculture is 14% beef uses less water than almonds, less fossil fuel to farm and transport, and saturated fats are no longer an item of concern on the 2020 report from the FDA.
I have adhd and even as an adult still notice a worsening of symptoms when I consume red dye…
I knew you’d love the review ;) she’s just awesome
My college used to give away walking tacos and omg they are so good, but I defo had to eat a salad after to avoid some serious intestinal distress 🤣
Oh no!
laughing because my homemade frito pies a lot like your suggestion- i make a little salad of cucumber, radish, peppers, tomato, avocado, green onion and crispy lettuce (everything but the lettuce and avocado are your basic taco truck salsa bar fixings) and put that right on top... abbey gets me
That sounds great!
She's not trolling about the Kool aid pickles, it's a thing, lol.
I’m curious if you would go over carbon emissions from beef compared to other global things?? I am not saying less beef isn’t being more environmentally friendly but maybe a comparison would show some huge contributors to global carbon emissions.
Can you review Dr Berg?
Absolutely loved this video!! What is your knowledge on the food coloring yellow #5?
I will have a look into that one!
Tiffany Haddish? Couldn't click fast enough lol
One small note about the research links though, could you put the titles next to the links in the future? I wanted to look at the type 2 diabetes heritability paper and it was kind of hard to see which link lead to which study.
Sure, thanks for the feedback!
Love your videos! I always find your videos have some volume issue?? Abbys talk over portions are very low while the interviewee is loud AF! Anyone else have this problem??
Sorry about that, thank you for letting me know!
Actually, peppermint sticks in hot pickles has always been a popular treat at Chicago carnivals and parties (back in the day). My mom told me she used to eat them all the time in the '70s and '80s! 😊
...I was never a fan, lol.
Interesting, thanks for letting me know!
I caught a parasite a few years ago after traveling. It was the WORST. I can attest to the fact that I needed standard meds along with the supplements--including wormwood to clear the little buggers from my system. I can't believe some people willingly put themselves through this. It was awful.
Oh wow, I’m so sorry for your experience!
Loving the content as usual. You totally need to collaborate with The Sassy Dietician. You are my favs
Thanks for the suggestion!
Dill pickles and cotton candy together is so good
I'll have to try that!
Warning to parents baby shark plays in this video for like 3 seconds but it's just long enough for you toddler to come running
😂
And you will be singing the song in your head for days! :-p
in Romanian culture, apricot pits are used a lot, delicious
I love the subtle falsettos clip you added
Oh my goodness! You brought back a memory with Fruit by the Foot. 👍
😊👍
ABBY! Loving the videos but I have to correct you here! Cornbeef is certainly not an Irish thing, I'm Irish and never in my life have I had it! 😀 it's bacon and cabbage we have! So like roast ham and cabbage
Thank you for letting me know!
Why would you juice celery if you can caramellize it in butter? 😋
Yes! i Love it in stews and sauteed beggies
Possibly!
You have to do the pickle, peppermint, and koolaid! For science 👀
Okay change that, please try a “I eat like Tiffany Haddish” for the week! I have to know if any or all of these food combos are good😂
I'll have to try that!
I love pickled things (specifically pickled okra) dipped in chocolate pudding. Pickles and pickle juice pair with a lot of things. (shout out to pickle juice snowcones!)
Sounds great!
Please try the pickle snack! Also, I loved the tone of this video ❤
If you don’t like lamb, goat is in the same food family, much less smell (especially if you marinate overnight with citrus and some good herbs and spices) - also venison (if you have a friend or family member who hunts on their property)
Thanks for the suggestions!
Baby shark challenge!!! OMG! This will have to be my postpartum workout.
😊👍
Abbey sharp do do do do do do do abbey sharp
This was such an enjoyable video!🥰
Thank you, so glad!
Love Haddish. 💜
❤️❤️
I’m really curious about the food dye and adhd thing you mentioned! I was banned from red food dye because it affected my behaviour majorly when I was a kid but I’ve never even suspected I might have adhd 😅 but my brother with diagnosed add didn’t seem to be impacted by them. Weird!
Interesting!
