Young Jedi Knights, New Jedi Order, and Jedi Legacy are some of the most intriguing stories in Star Wars franchise. Jacen Solo, like his sister Jaina Solo and their younger sibling Anakin Solo all play a pivotal role in those books. Here is a brief introduction to this awesome Legends character, his story overview, Jedi powers and Force abilities, as well as my hopes for the future. Hope you enjoy it.

When I read all of the novels with jacen solo....... I was blown away.... At first I was on his side and then I realized when he went to far.... It was an amazing journey.... He was so powerful even Luke was somewhat unsure if he could take him.... he was a TRULY scary villain.... And Disney just gave us an emo guy who gets beat every time...
I agree in that Kylo Ren started off as an interesting "tragic antihero" but the trilogy def. lacked a solid villain and ultimately Rey's & Kylo's stories culminated in a very lackluster ending (EPIX). They could've done a lot more with his story.
Jacen solo is way better written than Ben soylo from the sequel trilogy
Agreed. Ben Solo was an intriguing character for me. I saw some Jacen parallel's in his story but unfortunately they trilogy didn't stick to a solid ending. Jacen had the benefit of much more content and his story is more thought out.
By far!!! The fact they didn't go deeper and give him the motivations and character development jacen has is unbelievable. Rey is horrible compared to jaina too
@Star Wars Timeline maybe a fact but certainly no excuse for the horrible writing for the sequels.
The sequels could have started out with Jedi solo twins or alike characters on a mission for the new republic that ultimately results in them finding(enter new threat) from the outer rim and both old and new fans would have totally been on board. In fact it would make far more sense chronologically than starting with what felt like the rebels winning did nothing for the galaxy and our original trilogy characters being extremely incompetent as leaders, parents, Jedi, etc.
Then this new threat motivates jacen or like character to branch off of a 'weak' republic to start his own dark side military to 'protect' his family and Jedi. We all know where it goes from there and makes for a much more compelling sequel that makes sense in the tale of the Skywalkers and their legacy. Jaina or like character still gets to be the hero just like Rey but that makes her character struggle and motivations much more compelling as well. I just don't see how one could argue this vs the complete reboot mess we got.

I'm re-reading the Legacy of the Force series right now and I both hate Jacen but also understand him. I don't find him evil, just wrong and intellectually dishonest with himself. That's damn good writing and character work.
Great character video brother. Starting the NJO series is on the list from all the good things I’ve heard from you and others but there’s just so many darn books to read right lol. I’ve been keeping my eye out for The Young Jedi Knight books, wish I could get my hands on them. Anyway thanks for the insight on him, keep up the rockin work. 👍

I'm not into those kind of ecyclopedic comparisons. A) I'm not very knowledgeable on the specific power levels per character. B) This kind of info honestly doesn't excite me. Just like I don't care about the details of lightsaber construction. I'm more drawn to personal stories.

To be fair Jacen has had way more material to develop his character. vs. Kylo who is barely out the gates as far as available stories. But I agree, both Jaina & Jacen are vastly superior characters to what we got in the Sequel Trilogy.
