so sad the videos were taken down, one of the best youtube channels, as a road user, this was very educational with a few medical tips here and there, i dont believe anyone's privacy was exploited or damaged, much care was taken in every video to protect personal and sensitive information.. just a shame the employer most likely did not adequitly review the videos and most likely played the safe card, remove everything and we are safe.

Here's the announcement: "UPDATE II June 5th 2019: As you may have noticed, all driving videos are offline. My employer has asked me to remove all emergency driving videos from the past 2 years which I did with pain in my heart. They received too much questions about how we deal with the very strict privacy regulations. Although I think privacy was dealt with in a good manner, I had to follow this demand. The solutions I offered unfortunately were not supported. After my break this summer I will continue with video's of another kind, perhaps more educational and hopefully including short archive shots of emergency driving. But these videos take more time and money to produce so there will not be a weekly upload anymore. I like the Stryker one we use those in the States and they work very well. They are very accessible and the cardiac monitor can be placed on the head and much more. And can have one person use.

I have to say being in the fire service in America for nearly 2 years now. This video was a huge benefit. And just in my opinion even though the Ferno being able to maneuver over obstacles with the independent lifting legs, I did see a couple issues that could arise out in the field. One for example is the red laserbeam that you have to use to know when you can lift the second lifting legs to get it into the ambulance. And I know that given time, the ambulance personnel will be able to get used to it and not have to rely on the laserbeam. And one other draw back I have is that the Ferno doesn't have the cradle to dock the stretcher. In my opinion it is a positive and a negative. Pro: You are able to close up your ambulance for example if you are in the city you dont have to worry about people stealing things from your ambulance. But negative is that it would take time to get the stretcher to line up with that one rail in the center of the ambulance. But I know everybody has their own opinion, mine is that I would pick Stryker because that is what I am familiar with. But I would like to know what others opinions are on the matter.

Stryker is very innovative in their design and manufacturing of their stretcher/gurney systems, the lift is an important tool to save the backs of the paramedics. Clearly Stryker has been in the field to see how they could improve their products. Seems to be universal as it will lift 700lbs. I'm sure paramedics love this tool.

I was wondering why I hadn't seen any videos in awhile... It's sad your employer asked you to take them down. I'm betting you've already suggested this, but surely removing the intro route and emergency reason, permanently blurring the GPS, muting all voices, and stopping/starting the recording a minute or so before and after the patients location should cover literally everything as far as privacy goes, right?
I hope we get to see more from you in the future, they were informative and educational... and not to be disrespectful to the patients, but oddly entertaining aswell.

I'm not a Paramedic (at least not now, maybe one day), but having worked in the automotive and other industries, I can say I would want the basic Stryker or Kartsana over the Ferno. This is because of Murphy's Law, and when it does go wrong, it is always at the least opportune moment. The more basic the equipment, the less there is to go wrong. I'm not saying I'm against using modern tech, but these types of things can be so over engineered that the tech can get in the way of efficiency and safety.
From a engineering mindset, the Ferno is wicked cool, but from a practicality mindset, it seems like it would fail just when you need to quickly and safely get the patient from their home (or where ever) to the ambulance. Forcing you to carry it and the patient across the lawn. At least when the hydraulics fail with the other two, it fails evenly and will always go flat. With the independent nature of the Ferno, one side could fail, potentially allowing the patient to slide off head or feet first.
Anyway, that was way more than I intended to type. Thanks for letting us see the equipment!

I just "discovered" this video while looking for any of your videos I might have missed.
Two years down the track, which stretcher did your service end up buying? We had Fernos for years, then about 10 years ago Stryker came along with a much better product than the Ferno 26 and Ferno 50 we had. Seems that with every Stryker stretcher they throw in a free stair chair (again, a far better product than the flimsy Ferno stair chair).
Best wishes from an Australian paramedic.

how do they work when the ambulance is on unlevelled floor/road? Seems that only the last (black-red) one can be loaded.
Anyway would be amazing to save some heavy lifting that usually i have to do... but sometimes speed is also necessary: unloading, lowering to ground, raising, loading, unloading... i can see almost 8 secs. for every action... summing those you reach at least 40"... But at the same time only one man can do pretty much anything. Would love to try one!
