Bedridden with Dr Haydock's manuscript to read, Miss Marple suspects that the real events in the story may not have been an accident after all... From Three Blind Mice and Other Stories and Miss Marple's Final Cases.
More about this story
Poor Miss Marple is in bed with flu, when reading Dr Haydock's manuscript, based on real events which ended in a tragic death. But the doctor is convinced it was no accident and Miss Marple tends to agree with him...
An early version of this story titled The Case of the Caretaker's Wife was included in John Curran's nonfiction work, Agatha Christie: Murder in the Making in 2011. Miss Marple is not bedridden in this version and actively solves the case. Careful readers may also recognise aspects of this story in the 1967 novel Endless Night.
The Case of the Caretaker was published in the US collection Three Blind Mice and Other Stories in 1950 and in 1979 appeared in the UK collection Miss Marple's Final Cases. - บันเทิง
I hear no background noises. Juliet does all the voices marvellously!
Juliet Stevenson is a wonderful and extremely talented storyteller! Bravo❤👏
I love Juliet Stevenson. Such a great actress ❤🙂
I hear the ominous music (more like a drone) in the background as someone pointed out, but it isn’t detracting to me. Stevenson does a good job. Really enjoy this short story.
No weird background noises at all. Enjoyable story. Live and let live for goodness sake.
You must be hard of hearing...honestly
@@augustpriest6945No, just not easily distracted.
Love Juliet Stevenson's interpretations of these stories. Always so well done.
Oh Bliss!
Juliet has the most divine voice!
Shes so versatile in range & can flip characters like a flash
I love her acting talents & as im now older & dont watch many films, i love my audio books & i cant think of anyone better than Juliet to narrate the classics.
Must say, Miss Worm is a new narrator & British & wonderful to listen to, a voice like caramel
& smoked honey.
Blessings to All
Peace
🇬🇧👧
Thank you! I thoroughly enjoyed these brief tales. Miss Marple is always a delight.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Every day, I must listen to you before going to bed. You are a wonderful gift that God has given to me and everyone.
Thanks. Really enjoyed these short stories. Love Miss Marple
Thanks for listening
Love this story, great narration, but very eerie background sounds.
I agree. Quite unnecessary, the narration is amply sufficient and enjoyable.
Funny I didn't notice any background noise. I was just focused on the amazing voices of one person speaking for all the different characters. Beautifully done!❤
I keep seeing complaints about background noise or music. I am not hearing anything aside from opening music but great narrating. I love these and am hoping more will be added. Thank you so much for these😊
love the easter egg for Endless Night!
Love the wind in the background
Wow love the different voices!!!!
There IS an unpleasant background sound which is quite unnecessary. The narrator is great in spite of this.
Thank you a most enjoyable story.
I enjoyed it very much, thanks for sharing!
Great short story. ⭐️⭐️⭐️💚🩵💛🥰🤗
THANK YOU for this.
Greatly appreciated. Wonderful reading/acting. New subscriber now.
Brilliantly narrated by one of my favorite actors, Juliet Stevens.
Has anyone noticed the obvious similarities between this story and another one called Endless Night?
Noise probably in the mind. 😅
Time for another snack 🥨🥨😋
A Mental Tonic, just the thing!
About the noise, if you listen to it on very loud volume you hear the background noise and yes annoying! But if you listen to it with the volume at a lower volume you can't even hear the noise or know it's there unless you already know it's there. 😊❤
I'll try that. 😊
Juliet is talented
this more like "The endless night "by Agatha Christie
Wonderful reading but unable to endure the horrible noise in background
Sadly spoiled by weird background noises.
Easily distracted?
The only noise that spoiled it for me was the hideous bell at the end as I was about to fall asleep.
Why the disgusting loud music
I really wanted to enjoy this and I tried but these voices just grate on my every last nerve. Good God, I cannot continue
Juliet is no Joan
That’s not Miss Marples voice
I really like Juliette Stevenson, but after listening to Joan Hickson narrate the same stories for years I much prefer them
Joan is superb
Oh f*** the background noises. FOCUS!
The background noises make it impossible to focus.
Spoilt by the odd background drone. Such a shame.
People please I preach to you out of love belive on the lord Jesus Christ and trust in him for you salvation and not in yourself Christ came to die for our sin we have all sinned and deserve hell but God is so merciful and Jesus died on the cross to take our punishment so that who ever belive on him will not perish but have eternal life john 3:16 romans 10:9 if we confess with our mouth Jesus is lord and belive in our heart that god rose him from the dead we will be saved we can not earn salvation it is the free gift from God❤❤
All gods and goddesses are fairy tales you silly woman.
Love the stories but won't subscribe bc of the weird background noises.
I'm going to have to listen again bc I don't recall any offensive background noise. I simply enjoyed the story.😮
