The fantastic and unmistakable Frank Thornton.
That's who it is, I couldn't put my finger on it.
I love that Mr. Peacock is reading this! Amazing!
Captain Peacock! [Frank Thornton]
Definitely. Was going to post that.
That most unmistakable voice that even we Americans grew to recognize and love. I admit that I kept listening (and hoping) for the voices Molly Sugden and John Inman. There were others of course, each one important as an intricate part of beautifully balanced cast that brought so many hours of laughter, in 30 minute blocks, to a mundane and sometimes ugly world. But it's the voices of Captain Peacock, Mrs. Slocum, and Mr, Humphries that are so firmly melded into my memory. Hearing one,or even two of them without the presence of all three is like an unfinished poem or a song cut off after the opening bars.
Mr. Humphries....are you free?@@katiedotson704
Thanks, I knew I recognised his voice
I knew I recognized his voice. I always watched him in Are you being served.
Cat lover here. Pretty imaginative way of harnessing the purrs...😊😸 Love the production.
This is such a good adaptation, one of my favourites. Captain peacock is sublime . Such a lovely nit-wit😂 ❤

Hi. I just love this story. Thanks for posting it. I’m wondering if you’re able to post the one as a video? The picture is from the video I’m looking for… I can’t remember the Actors names but I really enjoy the old house it was set in. ❤️

Out of interest, why do you think this is “much better”?
I thought the David Suchet adaptation was superb.

Yes it is captain peacock
Yes
losd of old hat!
Blessed is old hat.
why are you here then?
Sorry, i don't care for his readings
Hopefully i can find the other copy that's read by someone else.
Why bother even commenting then? Maybe others do like this one. It’s a dramatization, by the way, not a reading.
Poor you.
There are no "his readings". It's a BBC radio play from 1999, starring John Moffatt as Poirot. He was the voice of Poirot from the mid-80s to 2007, on the BBC.
How mean spirited. If something is not for you just move on. You are not the center of the universe.
😢not nice be ashamed of yourself.
