8 birds in under 2 hours - that was a great hunt! Understand that it was the last day of the season, but I generally don’t hunt the day it snowed… if I do, it’s usually late in the day. - that was a great end of season hunt!!!
Eric we live Oregon and love all upland hunting but chuckar and quail are our favorites, and watch all your videos they are the best out there. Please don’t stop making them . great work on all of them if you feel up to it maybe do some on your truck and camping set ups while doing your trips , thank you.
Thanks, I’m glad you enjoy the vids. I have lots of content about truck set ups, camping, trip planning, etc on my Patreon page if you are interested. www.patreon.com/ericforrester
You must have been shooting a wide open cylinder choke on those quail. The single you shot just past the 14-minute mark couldn't have been 10 yards away?! Once again, top-notch dog work. Moxie's little bark after you release her always cracks me up!😅
Awesome video again. Love tagging along on your adventures, and the very watchable, interesting, entertaining, and engaging filming/editing/narrating on your videos. Seriously. You have great talent, and use it well. Look forward to the next one. Stay safe. Cheers.
No Eric. A big "THANK YOU, TO YOU" for bringing us four great episodes. That large snow flush about set me back in my chair. And have done that many times !!. For now friend. I can say that for all of your followers until next year. Later. P.S. bet you cannot wipe that smile off your face. Even now !!
Thanks for the videos - I’ve been going out twice a week for the. Mearns since the season started - (resident of Tucson) - so much fun hunting these birds in the beautiful, - often tough -oak canyons! Going out again tomorrow morning with my 4 yr old American Brittney.
Absolutely fantastic series Eric! You and the Doggies did an epic job! I'm so glad you got to experience Arizona Quail hunting. There's nothing like it anywhere! You have one of, if not the best Upland Hunting channels on TH-cam, for sure! It is a pretty safe bet that You and the Doggies will be back next season in Arizona. Don't discount other parts of the state for quail hunting. Mearns are in the Southern part of the state only, of course, but the Gambels are all over! They are worthy opponent for sure! Maybe next year you will bag some Scalies as well. Love your channel. Safe travels Man!
Taking a break from the daily grind and indulging my ADD to watch your videos is a blast. Really makes me eager to go hunting. It looks like you really have a nice traveling set-up and the dogs seem to travel well. Great content, and even better editing. That takes a lot of time and I admire the dedication. Got a sub and many likes from me, cheers!
Being from the UK I can only dream about the quality of hunting you have for free , of course the quality of your dogs is what makes the hunting so good but you're lucky to have such access to the vast areas of hunting , I've enjoyed many of your films and this series in Arizona has been great to watch , I was surprised to see snow though most of my knowledge of Arizona weather comes from old westerns 😀 , so it may be normal . I've been to the states once hunting snow geese in Texas , maybe one day I shall get back and do some Quail , Partridge and Grouse hunting. Thank you for the film's and good luck .
Headed down next week from Idaho for my annual 3 day hunt. Love hunting mearns. Hoping for some scaled this year as well. Thanks for your great content. I love watching your dogs work. Best of luck to you and keep up with the great videos.
So I’m assuming you’ll be back to Arizona?😉 Nice shooting and dog work! Looks like Mearns numbers are way up. They have been pretty low for several years. I’m a bit north of Mearns country and the Scaled and Gambles numbers are really good here. I might have to get down there for a couple days after watching your video. Thanks.
Hunt ends quick and limits are reached when you shoot doubles...lol. Looks like plenty of birds, awesome!! When Mearns are flushed (for the most part) do they fly a long way or do they just drop in to the next draw?
Heading down next week for the first time... nice country. How does the hill climbing compare to chukar hunting? The terrain in your vids doesn't LOOK too bad, but I know the camera can be deceiving. Anywhere near as much up & down as with chuks? This little AZ miniseries has really been helpful.
I love that little yelp she lets out. Good stuff as always. Is this it for videos for the year? How often do you run into other hunters? This is the first time i remember you mentioning it. In SoDak, we run into a bunch, but I didn't see any in MT this year.
1st bird down...the dead bird call to moxie was delayed and winded, fun stuff. I like that 2-4 inch snow hunting, Norman Rockwell memories for me. As always Eric, great content, editing and bird hunting habitat. All the best to you and yours in 2023. oh yeah, GO MOXIE! She is one helluva bird hunting machine.
I don't get excited over many youtubers posting much but I always do getting to see these dogs work. takes some talent to get them this good. congrats
Thank you! 👊
Thanks for sharing your hunts I get so much enjoyment from watching your dogs work. Thanks agin

Nice work Eric - enjoyed the videos! Congrats on a great trip. As always, looking forward to the next adventure.
Thanks and right back at ya! Your part 1 AZ was great, well done!

I love moxies lil jump pounce up hill to retrieve those dead birds ❤
12 hour day at work 80 mile drive home in the rain and my whole mood changes when I see a new video came up!! 🤘🤘🤘 Thanks Eric
I appreciate that, thank you!👊
Thank you!

Yep, skeet choke. 👍
Very nice shot. It's like you're in the scene. It's like a partridge hunt. Congratulations.

Great stuff!
What an awesome series, hate to see it end!
Impressive once again, but I guess this should be a perfect place to train young pointer dogs. My regards from the other side of the globe
I'd love to join up with you if you come to AZ again. My Airedale is in flushing training. Can't wait for our first season this year.
Dang it, amigo! You got in em’ thick! I’m headed to NM Monday for a week… well done!

Thanks! Yes, we are very fortunate here!

Did you go sharptail grouse hunting last year? Can't wait for more videos. I got my first Sharptail last year
Yes, check out my Montana videos. Lots of sharpies!
Man you need to take me with you. Just hiked 10 miles with no dog today in the snow and found nothing
You ever make vids about bird recipes or how you travel, what gear you carry and such. What goes in a trip like this. I think that would be content!
I have content like that on my Patreon page if you’re interested. www.patreon.com/ericforrester
super video 🤩🤩🤝🏼
Amazing I’m jealous
Hunt ends quick and limits are reached when you shoot doubles...lol. Looks like plenty of birds, awesome!! When Mearns are flushed (for the most part) do they fly a long way or do they just drop in to the next draw?
Not far usually.
Love your videos the dog work is great and video of the countryside is amazing. I do have a question what e collar system do you use
Garmin Alpha 100

It’s nothing like most Chukar hunting but the canyon walls can be steep and rocky. 👍
alright! what do you like more... Mearns or Bobs?
Mearns are like bobs in prettier country 👍
I love that little yelp she lets out. Good stuff as always. Is this it for videos for the year?
How often do you run into other hunters? This is the first time i remember you mentioning it. In SoDak, we run into a bunch, but I didn't see any in MT this year.
Definitely depends on where I’m at. I don’t often run into anyone in the field.
Are you getting any of those mounted?
My brother did last year.
Eric, what shot size did you choose for those quail?
7.5
12 gauge & Winchester super sport 1 1/8 oz load to hunt quail? Seems game hawkingly heavy but legal I guess.
What do you do for work to let you travel so often?
Self employed 👍
Joined your Patreon 👍🏼
Awesome, thank you!
you must not be hungry one bird at a time
I definitely don’t quail hunt for the meat 😁
1st bird down...the dead bird call to moxie was delayed and winded, fun stuff.

As always Eric, great content, editing and bird hunting habitat. All the best to you and yours in 2023.

She is one helluva bird hunting machine.
Thanks buddy, happy new year to you as well!
God dog man
excellent vid , my friend the locking lever is too far to the left it's time to take that o/u to the gunsmith
Moxie rocked it on this trip! Love your videos Eric, always look forward to them.
