    Thanks for all of these videos! I'm installing two amps, subs, door speakers, sound deadening with all new wiring in my Tacoma and your videos have been key. I'm basically following your amp rack build 1:1, taking notes and lessons learned from here. Much appreciated. Looking forward to the big 3 upgrade video too as I'm sure I'll be using it for reference!

    i have a '15 and where the stock (jbl) tweeter was mounted in the door, i used the little subaru/toyota tweeter mounts and filed them out to fit the 2.5" morel midrange. so now there's a 3-way comp set in the doors, 6.5 with speaker rings and mounting bracket (6x9 to 6.5) and the midrange in the old tweet spot, then the new tweets in the sail panel. there are a few 2.5 mids out there, Morel, AudioFrog, etc.. for you having the dash location that i dont have in m gen 2, that's even better. hope you love those Focals, im sure they sound amazing.

      The kicker 2.75" mids also work well in that 2nd gen tweeter position. Not as good as the morels or audio frogs, but they only cost about $50 (vs $180-250+)

    real nice install. the subaru kicker oem tweeter upgrade fits in a tacoma factory location and they scream and will handle every bit of that audiocontrol amp if you just reattach your tweeter wire. they balance with the front door speaker on their own with no crossover needed. I been running mine in a wrx over a year on a soundigital amp at 145watts rms.

    Good job you doing it right I’m my Tacoma I left the floor the problem areas for vibration are the biggest is the roof than the doors I’m running 6000 rms and 1 15s I’m doing a blothru with accordion boot to the bed of Tacoma. And on 4 channel I tied into factory wiring into doors since the wiring was already there no need to run new into all 4 doors I just ran new into were I disconnected the factory jbl amp that I got rid of so that made it able to use factory door wires.

    Nice setup! I think you'll spend more than you need to, and not get the sound you want with a focal 3 way, and not installing the tweets in the dash. The sound stage will come up, back to the middle with tweeters in the dash, refracting of the frond windshield.
    You should have a listen to a 15 Tacoma I did just a few weeks ago. We did cheap, Alpine type s components, on some big power compared to what you have, and everyone that's heard it, always comments on the sound quality. It sold the next job on a Chevy. The rear needs help with the coaxial's the customer wanted(stock unmodified appearance) and would benefit from a component tweeter added up high in the door sill.
    I JUST installed a similar setup in a 15 Silverado, tweets in the dash. Having the component tweeters bounce off the front window made this install sound amazing. Sound stage was up higher, and the balance between the 6x9 and tweets off the dash blended perfect in the large cab with minimal tweaks on the sound processor. Enough volume to make your ears ring, and clarity to impress anyone other than a SQ judge at a show.
    I feel a proper(not an overpriced name like focal, it's just a fancy, overpriced name) set of drivers on the power you have will yield the results your after. Lots of other better brands that make snob brands like focal look way over priced, and under performing.
    For the price of the focal 3 way set, you could have some German rainbow components that would walk the focal set in any way, for around the same price or cheaper.
    Nice clean install though, looks great. Good to see others take pride in their work! Great job man!

    Trust me from experience the tape and the wire loom ain’t enough. There are a bunch of different size grommets at your local Autozone or Amazon.
    Oh and I forgot to mention are you a professional. Because the work you do is by far the best I’ve seen. Love how you painted the ground wire ends it shows you have common sense.

    I also have some tips to increase voltage remotely with a knob, or just gain a simple half volt over what's commanded by the vehicle, with a simple fuse swap. I have my personal daily Toyota setup with a continuously variable knob, and can change it on the fly for "listening conditions". Lol! If you want some info, or a kit of all the parts to do the variable mod, I have 3 in stock, and you are more than capable to install it. Would go very nice with the big three, adjust on the fly from stock to past 15v if desired.
    Holler if that sounds like something you would add, the price will surprise you big time. In a good way...

Ran ground there same grommet and ground to frame under truck. To be extra safe I put my power wires in some wire loom for extra protection since it’s under truck. If not tuning 6000 watts rms I’d probably just run 0 gauge three firewall too.

    This is turning into a SQ Build. Looks good man keep it up. Can wait to hear it. Doing a big 3 on Toyota is pointless bc the voltage is not going to change and it won’t go pass 13.7 bc of voltage regulator

    • @FloGarage
      @FloGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! The big 3 upgrade is not to increase voltage. I’ve added more “accessories” to the truck which means more current (amperes) is going to flow through the battery and charging system. The stock wiring is not designed for this high current. It can burn up if there’s too much current. Increasing the size of the wires allows for more current handling. Think of it as water flowing through hoses. I can’t have a thick hose flowing to my amps and then have the little one from the body to the (-) of the battery. Since the alternator is what powers everything on the truck when the engine is running, it needs the wiring upgrade as well. I’ll explain it in detail on the upcoming video

    • @laimoua7348

      There's a site that sells a small fuse to connect to your 12 volt in your fuse block. It's made just for toyotas and I've used it for two 4 runners. All stock with big 3 and the voltage sits at mid 14s all day.

  • @dalvenp
    @dalvenp 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The install is looking freaking awesome. You mentioned the taco tunes adapter and the kicker key. Can i just run wires to each after market speaker and then connect into the taco tunes adapter and plug into stock head unit? Or will this require any cutting? I can't decide if I want to go with OEM audio plus with the speakers and their processor. I like the fact that it's a straight plug and play though.

    • @FloGarage
      @FloGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you! Yes. You can run speaker outs straight to the doors. The harness I got from taco tunes is a “signal processor kit” or something like that. So basically it goes from the output of the radio to your signal processor or amp and then from your amp’s output to the factory harness, which goes to the speakers (including the factory tweeters). I think taco tunes has one that goes just from the radio to the amp. You should be able to get away with not cutting wires. OEM audio plus seems pretty solid because it’s all plug and play. I didn’t go with that because I like building stuff and making something custom and different.

    • @dalvenp
      @dalvenp 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@FloGarage thanks for the reply and the awesome help. I think taco tunes has the other adapater you were referring to but that is just for a sub amp, I think that's what I got from forums and won't help with the door speakers. And yes OEM audio + is looking super nice but that price tag, I'm trying to see which would be better as far as sound quality, OEM audio or aftermarket with amp.
      I can't wait for the next videos. I'm going to keep up. It's looking super nice.
