Something interesting I did see was that out of the top 20 biggest pre tax losses in the premier league era, 50% of them have been from City and Chelsea yet none have had any deductions. This is with the huge owner funding, in 2011 City had a £195m loss. Clubs that get away with everything whilst Forest/Everton are having points deducted.

@@KJ_2020I disagree. United would for sure love to be winning the champions league and making farther year in and year out. You obviously have to do good in your league to get into the UCL. The PL is amazing it is one of the best if not the best domestic league in the world. But there is one league better which is the champions league. The best teams all across Europe going head 2 head. Most teams apart from a team like antwerp are all top quality sides in the champions league. It’s more entertaining and higher quality. In the UCL you can’t afford to play one or two bad games because that can cost you getting knocked out where as in a league you can afford to lose a game or a couple. I mean look at city they have won a lot of prem recently but look at how long and hard it was for them to win the UCL. Let that be a natural process rather than analysing a perceived over or under reaction. @@Bert-lw1othe took over champions, Ferguson created champions. League is far better now? The financial gaps between the top 6 and the rest of the league is far greater. You need less points now to stay up in the league, which highlights this gap.

@Bert-lw1ot your wrong there champ. The depth in European football in general has gone down. The premier league was more competitive in the past for example in 99 when utd won the treble Chelsea only lost 3 games that season and still finished 3rd. The top European clubs are at the weakest they have been in the last 20 years.

@@jhaych he didn’t take over champions, it’s a myth that quite often gets incorrectly repeated! And yes, the league is clearly better now, in terms of how deep the talent is. Teams have to be on it every week, or they’ll get turned over. Back then it was strictly a top 4, and it was usually the same 4. Now it’s a top 6, and they can change. Not to mention the fact that there has been 3 different winners of the UCL from the Premier League very, very recently

@@jasonwolfe5787 I’m not talking about the depth of European football. The fact is mid table, ever bottom half teams in the PL can now go and take players from bigger teams in other leagues because they can simply outspend them…meaning even they can have some really good players

It's harder to win the premier league but it is bigger to win the champions league. Even the biggest players are remembered more world wide by either their world cup, champions League or euro performance. Without the 5 champions leagues Ronaldo wouldn't be as big as he is . Modric,Kaka , Kroos, Xavi , Iniesta, Drogba all this names are big because of champions league performance.
