Like all great leaders, what comes first here is his love for his players and staff on a human level. Once respected and loved, people will run through walls for a leader. Marry that with football expertise and a strict focus on the here and now, and you have not only a winning combination, but a legend in the making.
One of the best managers we've ever had at improving individual players .. forget the saudis the amount of players that are still here pre-saudi money and they were fighting relegation winless nearly half way through a season and now hes got a lot of those same playees in the UCL and then Europe again in his 1st 2 full seasons .. absolutely unbelievable and hope hes the man the take us a trophy and become an legend up here
What he did with Joelinton is nothing short of remarkable. One of the best midfielders in British football and now a Brazil regular. Wish we could have kept hold of Allan Saint-Maximan though

I don't support Newcastle, I support Everton, but Eddie is a fascinating coach, he's very intelligent, bright and interesting, he has a great tactical insight. Absolutely delighted whenever I get the chance to hear Eddie speak in interviews like this. Although I may be bias in saying this, but he is one of the most respectable managers in world football. We’ve had over 25 injuries this season and he hasn’t complained once. We’ve been hit with champions league football and extra fixture congestion for the first time in 20 years (minus the 12/13 campaign as it was UEL). And that’s not even mentioning what he’s done ON the pitch for us. Wouldn’t want anyone better at my football club 🖤🤍

Loved Eddie speaking about maxi in a way that’s was respectful basically saying it was his time to leave as well for him. Meaning he didn’t fit the team and eddies methods so had to go but did it in a way that didn’t throw any criticism to maxi. Classy
he always spoke really highly of him, ASM did too about Eddie which say a lot - but it was clear it wasn't going to work and Barnes was a better option (we already had Gordon when ASM left, but I get Gary making that comparison as Gordon is our starting LW)

Used to think he’d never last in the premier league when I seen him at Bournemouth (playing out from the back on the smallest pitch in the league and getting some heavy defeats) but he’s adapted and now he’s got a nice blend of free flowing and pragmatic team at Newcastle fair play

I remember a game vs my team Liverpool where I felt he had good arguments of many lousy decisions against his team, like most low or midtier team coaches would do. But instead, he just said his team didn't go for the game plan. And from that alone, I always felt he's different
