I love how thoroughly you describe the keyboard and its pros and cons.
me 2 lol
i swear bro, if betty doesn't approve a keyboard, I'M NOT BUYING.
I love this evolved version of you. Narration, presentation, everything just works now.
Agreed 💯
The smoothness of your narration is the reason is why i subscribed to you. Keep it up :)
i agree before it just was a bit boring
It feels a bit forced sometimes, but i think its getting better.
Everything works…… except the keyboard
Wait, you never press the left shift? I've heard of people not using the Right Shift, but no Left Shift? That's honestly kinda rare.
How tf do you play video games without left shift?
idk why but when I type I cannot use the right shift, just using left shift feels way more natural

Agreed - Knobs ARE OP!
My daily driver has a volume knob. *Apparently* I can assign a macro to it to activate when the knob is pushed down, but I know in my heart it will forever be used exclusively as a volume knob.
So this knob can be assigned to volume control? What does it do right out of the box?
@@justsomemincedgarlic I should clarify: The volume knob is assigned to volume control by default. Twist it left/right and it'll move the volume up/down.
However, you can *also* assign a function for when you *press* the knob instead of twist it, and that can be assigned to almost any process.
@@apocryphgaming9995 ahhh ok, thank you for the info. I’m new to the mechanical keyboard world and was just curious if this could be assigned to something like adjusting sliders in Logic Pro. Seems like a big upgrade from the Magic Keyboard I’ve been working on for years.
@@justsomemincedgarlic I can't speak to how awesome this keyboard is in the grand scheme of things - that's probably more this channel's thing - but it's a Das Keyboard X50Q. Gamma Zulu switches that give a nice tactile feel, and good functionality with macros etc.
Only gripes: Ironically not a fan of 'smart' keyboards that require software for their macros, and whilst a 'Full Keyboard' suits me just fine for my uses, I know actual keyboard enthusiasts prefer TKL boards or similar.
I'm actually more excited for the Keychron K8 Pro for few reasons:
1. Bluetooth (I don't mind latency, I don't have enough ports on my computer)
2. Hotswap (You can never have enough switches)
3. QMK/VIA (Solid software since I want to customise)
I actually got the RK84 but the Bluetooth broke on me while modding and the software doesn't allow my type of customisation.
I do hope Keychron releases K8 Pro soon so I can see reviews on it and make a decision. Though hopefully they can also release it in other form factors since TKL is definitely more expensive and time consuming to mod than smaller form factors.
The amount of works and editing that she puts into these videos astounds me
So I got mine two days ago and started using it completely stock (also with the pro brown switches). Mine started doing the same key chattering thing as well BUT i noticed that it only started doing it after an extended period of use for a single day with the LEDs turned up to high and the bottom and front of the board were much warmer than I would expect. I realized I had not been using the stock cable and have since switched that out for the stock cable. I ran it with stock cable and LEDs at 50% for a while and didn't have a problem. Today, I've been running it all day with stock cable and LEDs at 100% and while the keyboard is slightly warm it isn't quite as bad as yesterday and no key chattering yet.. Will respond to both this and my discord post in the Q2s chat if it rears its head again.
hows the keyboard feeling atm? any weird stuff
@@dovelocity oh yeah, it's been perfectly fine since I started using the stock cable that includes the usb to usb-c dongle.
@@F00Lsmack Glad to hear it's still looking good, I came in here just now to see how you're getting on too :) Considering this over the GMMK Pro, so your feedback and testing on the chattering is appreciated :)
"Disgustingly festive.."and they only sent me this after Xmas " got me giggling there. LOL.
For anyone else with the Q1 v1 sketch coiled cable, it looks quite a bit better if you stick a trimmed fat boba straw inside. If the straw itself isn't thick enough like mine, wrap it with paper and tape it together until it is. It worked well enough for my priorities that I returned my $40 CableMod black cable despite the higher quality build.

The song that starts at about 2:00 to 6:12 is from the game Final Fantasy XV, and is called "Relax and Reflect." This song also appears in Final Fantasy XIV via a collaboration special event. Though I doubt this song is on Epidemic Sound, I did really dig hearing it "in the wild," haha! I was vibing so hard and thinking, "Did I leave my game open?"
Keychron is a good starter keyboard, other than that the company doesn't care about after service. Love your content
That's really interesting that the Q2 comes with proper PBT caps while the Q1 doesn't -- here's hoping the Q3 will come with PBT caps since that's the one I'm waiting on.
I think Keychron has been upping their game considerably. I have a K2V2 and these look like a massive improvement.
Either way youre better off just buying base board and caps separately.
Betty I started watching your videos like a year ago when I was getting into keyboards. I stopped watching for a while, and just saw a notification from your channel today. Gotta say the improvement in quality and editing is just night and day. And also I feel like just yesterday you only had like 20k subscribers??? And now you have over 400k??? That's awesome! I'm so happy for you lol
Thank you so much!

Switch and click next video- " I bought 20 keyboards and try to not break them for 1 month! Yeah "
Betty is the BOSS when it comes to keyboard reviews!
4:24 You don't feel like the tips of your fingers are about to break!!! Lmao I spilled my drink how funny that was.
Finally, the old voice came back. I appreciate your attempt to branch out into other more energetic styles but this is nice. Takes me back to your older keychron reviews and exactly why I started watching your content.
Imagine having just a different mood and people describing it as "trying to branche out into other more energetic styles".
Imagine
@@acos21 I don't think exaggerated and airy speech counts as a mood, especially not in the context of older videos, which I think are far more professional and really well produced.
@@SwitchandClickOfficial Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to direct or put anyone down here. It still boils down to what you wanna do with your channel. I'm just expressing my preference towards this type of content.
@@bepis2104 Which is your right and i understand what you are saying.
So the chatter went away when you put in the Silks? Great review of this keyboard. I have no use for anything of this form factor, but it’s nice to see the different features and developments.
It didn’t unfortunately
@@SwitchandClickOfficial Im actually having the same issue actually! I actually made the mistake of not testing it fully stock and if the switches and board was ok. But I went straight to modding and added in my own stabilizers and PE foam. I thought it was maybe the PE foam that was interfering with the actuation, but now im thinking otherwise. Not only does it have key chatter, but I would have to actuate with so much force for it to input the key. Any advice?
@@PooPooKakaPeePee Don't think it is from switches or physical anything. I think (as seen from Betty) it is the chip overheating with LEDS full blast and a non stock cable from manufacturer. The chip is overheating - feel the case when this happens. When you put "much force", I think its really the MCU lagging due to overheat. Try again with stock cable and NO RGB
The Q series scares me. Delivery guy who brought me the Q1 Pro told me to take the package with both hands because it was heavy. I am now armed in case of zombie apocalypse.
I like the idea you have in mind for your videos! It’s all completely stream highlights now
Betty the edit of this video is flawless, very concise and summarized your stream perfectly.
Everyone: rip keyboard
Me: *how many microphones has Betty changed ?*
I knew that back ground music sounded familiar! Props for using FFXVI BGM.
As an Englishman your enthusiasm for knobs is quite amusing :)
Love your vids its getting better
I read that the key chatter might be due to aftermarket cables. (maybe because USB-C is just a plug but there are many different ways to wire it) Can you remember if you were using a stock or aftermarket cable at the time?
You can do a review from the gamakay lk67, is an Chinese keyboard that can be purchased from the banggood, and have a design like of the keycron Q2, but with some more LEDs, an pink color, and without keycaps and switchs
Thanks for the review. I’d never go with keycron again, it seems the random key entering is not a random case. I’ve had the same issue with keychron k2 before as well after around 2 weeks of usage.
For any one looking at this price range, just get a kbd 67 lite…so much more reliable
i've been using a k4 for a few weeks, and i don't have that problem, I guess it depends on your luck ?
@Imagine Eating its funny how keebs community constantly trash razer's keyboard but my blackwidow stealth TE edition is still working perfectly even being used daily for 8 years....(yes im typing this comment with it lol)
Keychattering normally is a switch problem, not a keyboard problem but maybe Betty can clear up on this, and if you have any problem with ur board just get in touch with the support and when its an unfixable problem they will just RMA ur board and u get a new one. Obviously products can be faulty when delivering a lot of them, every company has those problems no matter how big or small they are.
kbd67 lite 🤡
I prefer the kbd lite67 as well, i just wish they made a 75lite with iso support and all. I am really happy with 65% but i went for the keychron q1 to see wether i get more comfortable use with dedicated f keys. I see little reason to get the Q2. Yeah its aluminum but its not as reliable
The review of this keyboard that I've been waiting for. Thank you!
Hearing the sound test and finding out they were browns gave me whiplash
Spear of justice at the beginning of the video!! 🤩🤩
Amazing review!!! Thank you so much!
You know... that clickbait title is sort of an assassination job on the Q2. I really don't think you were fair in doing that, because the vast majority of people who've bought that keyboard haven't had the problem you had at all. The title is really hyperbole, given the overall track record of the Q2.
Thank you for noticing me
This is probably your best video by far
the content just keeps getting better & better! i love it
Can we have more info about how it was broken after two weeks and did the switch change resolve the issue?
Yeah, viewers want to know if and how the key chatter gets sorted out. I think the title of 'I Broke It' along with 'RIP' in the teaser pic was just to draw views. She doesn't need to do that as the channel is growing quickly and viewers (including me) love her vids.
It didn’t fix it
@@SwitchandClickOfficial id be interested in knowing how they handle it. Normal users have expressed issues with warranty on Reddit and Facebook.
Damn now i really hope my soon arriving Q1 has no issues.
Keychron makes poly plates for all the Q line... except the Q6 xD
I love keyboards, I have been in the hobby for 15 to 20 years now, but the thing that keeps me from going full bore is that there's not muich love for full keyboards :/ I work a few hours each day from home, and I'm an inventory specialist so giving up the ten keys just feels too dirty to me. I tried ten keyless for a few years, but I'm back to a Keychron V6 with some pandas and speed coppers, it's been really nice. I just wish I had the same number of affordable choices that are seen in the percentage and ten keyless range, it's just not as complete.
"Resin wrist rest" is a tongue twister I didn't expect to learn today.
Switch and click is the type of person who would scream silently
oh hey you hit 400k thats pretty nice
if your Q2 does break hopefully your journey through Keychron Support will go smoothly because my experience with them right now is a nightmare
@@oTEMPE5To oh hey lol
Man I wish the q2 had Bluetooth. Looks like an absolutely incredible keyboard though. My first board was a keychron k2 and they make really solid boards.
They 10000000% lied about working on and releasing software for the K2 though
love the stock sound, sounds somewhat like a keycult
LOOKS NICEEE anyone else suddenly addicted to keeb vids?
betty coming in clutch with another great review and entertaining us
Thank you!
Did the key chatter disappear? Or a better question I guess would be, was it the PCB causing chatter or the switches themselves? I have the Q1 knob variant and absolutely love it... but because I kind of hoard keyboards I'm thinking, the hell with it.. I'll buy the q2 as well. But i am worried they might not function as well as my Q1.. I guess I'm lucky I don't get chatter on my Q1.. I have a drop CTRL high profile that I love as well, and unfortunately it has key chatter that drives me crazy. It's amazing what one or two keys will do to productivity if they fail. ill swap the switches soon on that and see how it goes. Anyway, thank you! great video!
The mouse is going crazy in the background Love your videos :D
Awesome review! I was so hyped for this but $180+ $50 for shipping is waaaaay out of my budget. I love the honesty of your reviews, ended up getting a k6 and will prob mod it.
I can say the same... I would accept to pay $150 shipped...
@@slackdm pricing is sketchy. I don't think they're selling these keyboards with a "tight" profit margin. (Q1 and Q2 same price even though one requires less materials). Similar pricing can be observed between a K6 and a K4 for example, latter requires almost the double amount of materials but they are priced exactly the same. I think we'll see a keyboard with similar features below $100 soon. It's a case, PCB, switches and keycaps for god's sake, how much could it cost to manufacture any of these.
@@slackdm I feel you bro
I love the music :)

You make it so entertaining 🙌
Hey Switch and Click I was wondering if keychron is a reliable because I see there is a $30 and it just looks a little suspicious that’s all keep up the great work!!!
Hello. Is this 1000hz polling rate?
the quality is definitely improving and noticeable 👍
I used the stock K8 pro keycaps for like 2 weeks and a lot of them broke their stems so I had to replace them... Would be interesting to see if these hold better or have to replace them too
I like your content. Thank you for providing another voice within the keebmunity. ;)
My pleasure!
Do you think the Q2 is a better deal than the Q1's new knob edition?
okay. One question. I saw that on one of your videoes that you placed yourself at Greenland, so i kinda thought that you might be greenlandic or maybe canadian or something. Are you from greenlandic?

"I never press left shift" my right switch wishing it was yours and not neglected xD My left shift is my main driver- Especially for hot keys. Left Ctrl+Alt+Shift are all necessary. XD

Haven't checked it out to verify myself so grain of salt but it can be difficult to properly credit stuff in a community where some voices just are fundamentally louder than others, and where it's very possible to think of identical solutions without necessarily being exposed to the others that have also thought of them
