They should rename this song "Thunder of the Bells" in honor of Geoff's rendition! Between this and "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" from a couple of years ago, Geoff seems to be making a habit of taking traditional Christmas songs and completely re-imagining them in his own brand of amazing! Um...you realize that if you join Geoff's Patreon at even the minimum (not free) level, you get access to the Karaoke tracks of his songs - which would be your soundtrack version?
I agree: Geoff’s background musical arrangement is so incredible that it should be copyrighted. When combined with Geoff’s epic vocal range, control, & agility (plus his intricate layered harmonies), this rises above a holiday carol. It’s a masterpiece.
Luckily it's copyrighted by the very act of creation! Copyright doesn't need to be registered; only trademarks and patents require registration with the US Patent and Trademark Office 😊
We all need to give Kathy a Christmas present for making Geoff do this one considering he had no intentions of doing so. This is on repeat still in my house.
I saw the announcement for this the day before it dropped. I was going to comment Mortius better be sitting down for this one then figured that I was already too late.
I honestly think this is one of my favorite Christmas covers that Geoff has ever done, it is so good😍 I just love what he did with the arrangement and the video. Thanks for the amazing reaction!!❤️
Yes! You should check Dan Vasc and his Angels We Have Heard on High... I visualize a host of angels roaring that song from the heavens whenever I listen to it!
Yup, you reacted the way I was guessing you'd react, the same way most of us reacted, and still reacts, to hearing this Geoff-ified version of Carol of the bells.😂❤ This is such an exquisite arrangement! And it was amazingly executed, cleverly filmed, flawlessly edited, to gift us the perfect Christmas present. 🎄 Kathy, we're all indebted to you for all eternity for convincing Geoff to do this one. ❤❤❤❤❤
Before I let your video play out, I stopped and went out to Patreon and listened again to the karaoke track. It IS truly cinematic. I haven’t really thought about it in those terms before but except for a few vocabulary changes this would be fantastic in a movie or video game. Instead of the “ding dong” maybe “bang boom” and instead of “Christmas is here”, “the battle is here” and it would totally work. As I was listening, I was thinking of their Dragonborn prepping-for-battle feel. I can actually visualize a snowy field with warriors getting ready to do their thing. I downloaded it to my Christmas playlist just because it’s traditionally a Christmas song (although not the way he’s done it.). I also added it to my playlist for video game themes because it’s got a lot of that same cinematic feel and to my miscellaneous instrumentals. Thanks for the tip. It was thoroughly enjoyable watching you go bonkers as usual.😂
Geoff posted karaoke and audio tracks for this on his Patreon. Karaoke tracks are instrumentals. I usually listen to them but for some reason I didn't with this. The title says audio tracks but when you pop open it up there are links for each separately. Just click on the link. And choose where you want it to go from the options.
Thank you Mortius for another great reaction to Geoff. He really put the dragons to work with this one. I didn't know dragons did Christmas songs so well.
Please react to the Bass Gang's cover of the Dragonborn Come featuring Vinny Marchi! It's super epic. Vinny is really cool; I'm really excited for more people to find out about him!
This resonates with the feelings of impending gloom of another year gone by with the overtone of forced cheerfulness of the season… a truly beautiful song, even for those who find the end of the year to be depressing
My new favorite Geoff production! Thank you for your quick reaction, it was fun to see your enjoyment and amazement echo mine. 😊 Congrats on your first sponsorship!
13:21 from here, this is Mortius's favorite song (or "celebrating the spirit of christmas war" song). Just wabted to add that Geoff sustains that's low note for 8 seconds, four times in the song, and dude, i'm not nearly his level, but mate, that's so hard to sustain and change the notes in such a low subharmonic register. It's just amazing.
Allô Mortius 👋 I had exactly the same reaction as you when the image of the double gramophone appeared. I was so entranced by everything that I didn't realize it was over. There are at least two of us in this case! Janine Quenouille Dufresne
Hi Mortius 😊 I’m a new member but not a new watcher 😀 Geoff and VP have inspired me to join you. Watching your reaction to Geoff just now was actually the very reason I pressed join 😊 Your reaction was identical to my own , he is an absolute genius in every way possible. His work ethic is beyond belief ( as is VP’s ) the talent not only on phenomenal display in front of the cam but his perfection in his work behind the cam is beyond words ❤ Oh by the way Mortius, I do ramble, a lot haha, you will get used to that 😂
This song is simply EPIC ❤ Someone in another comment section compared it to a dragon choir singing Christmas carols 😂 And I think that's a very accurate description 🐲👍🏻 Love Geoff's arrangements 🫶🏻 I'm not much into all the Christmas stuff and cheesy/poppy Christmas songs, but this one... good Lord... I'm listening to it on repeat since it dropped (literally 😂) on Friday 👍🏻
I knew you would enjoy this one and the only question was would you be able to remain standing when he hit the lows. Congrats on barely being able to remain standing this time.
I've always recommended his arrangement of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen as his best. Now? My favorite Geoff tune is the one I'm listening to at the moment. I officially have no favorite.
I , too, really enjoyed the instrumental track on this. I do have to say, though, that the vocals are a little scary - who knew Carol of the Bells could be scary? But great. If you would like another very nontraditional take on this song, try this live video of Adam Rupp doing it. I saw him do it live and when I realized what he was doing my brain exploded. th-cam.com/video/L31KSWSMvj4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=LAuSj1-r6c48bOQR
Came here for Geoff and quickly found myself scrolling your videos to see if you'd reacted to Hi Ren by Ren. Didn't see it so I hope you react to it at some point. I always recommend him
Mortius, awesome review!!! I felt the same way the first time I heard it too. I have a question, is there an mp3 or .wav version available? I suggested to my local radio dj here in Kansas City 102.1, to listen to it and she absolutely loved it, but can't play it off of TH-cam or Spotify. It has to be in an mp3 or .wav format. Any help finding it in those formats would be greatly appreciated. The world isn't prepared for Geoffquakes, but let's give it to them anyway.
Yay, a Kaz reference! ❤ And I can only agree. Maybe pour the 3 shots of whiskey into the (warm) milk? Add some coffee and brown sugar too, and you have yourself an Irish-ish coffee - Kaz style. 😂
Like I said on another channel, the real reason for global warming: Geoff singing this at the North Pole. He could calve glaciers with that Merry Christmas!

This entire fandom has happy PTSD from this song. Woo!
That's a great way to put it!! 😂
This 😂
Isn't happy PTSD just called nostalgia?

He didn't want to do it but had to obey the boss. She's one smart woman!!
I saw the announcement for this the day before it dropped. I was going to comment Mortius better be sitting down for this one then figured that I was already too late.
Multiple blinks, jaw agape...yep, that totally tracks for this one....💚❤
No other version exists now. Geoff has arranged and deep bass obliterated all other versions.
I thoroughly enjoyed your reaction to Geoffs cover. They are groundbreaking and this one was screenshaking. Congratulations on the sponsorship.
It was amazing to hear him actually sing in his subharmonics. Usually it's one highlight note, but not with this.
Biblically accurate voice of an angel
I honestly think this is one of my favorite Christmas covers that Geoff has ever done, it is so good😍 I just love what he did with the arrangement and the video. Thanks for the amazing reaction!!❤️
This version made me realize that a choir of angels probably would not sound "angelic" at all, but more along these lines.
Yes! You should check Dan Vasc and his Angels We Have Heard on High... I visualize a host of angels roaring that song from the heavens whenever I listen to it!
That’s why angels always start with “Fear Not!”

I just love all your reactions and wait for every new one. This was NOT a disappointment, love you!

Broken Mortius incoming 🤣. Geoff definitely SMASHED this one.
Geoff delivering on the epic holiday covers.
The soundtrack to Peter Jackson's "Krampus".
Very entertaining reaction. Geoff is becoming a legend - a genius on many levels

This song is a physical experience. The thunderous Merry Christmas just hits you like a wave of sound in the best way possible.
Thank you Mortius for another great reaction to Geoff. He really put the dragons to work with this one. I didn't know dragons did Christmas songs so well.

Listening to this song with my own Krakens on full haptics does the same rattle to my glasses. My whole face gets a massage. 😂
I knew Mortius would love this.
Christmas Songs as they should be sung - deep and dark 🥰
2:50 Mortius is a happy man xDDD
I love Mortius's reactions so much
The Die Hard of Christmas Carols... almost too much action to play with other Christmas songs.
Just FYI, my husband and I were at Best Buy earlier today looking for new headphones for him for Christmas, and I told him about your discount.
I love you calling attention to the music. It's awesome and could stand alone -- but is only intensified by Geoff's otherworldly vocals
My new favorite Geoff production! Thank you for your quick reaction, it was fun to see your enjoyment and amazement echo mine. 😊 Congrats on your first sponsorship!

First time I heard this, I thought Mortius is going to love the pauses
Allô Mortius 👋 I had exactly the same reaction as you when the image of the double gramophone appeared. I was so entranced by everything that I didn't realize it was over. There are at least two of us in this case! Janine Quenouille Dufresne
What can I say Geoff did it again, took a song and made it completely his.
Hi Mortius 😊 I’m a new member but not a new watcher 😀 Geoff and VP have inspired me to join you. Ohhh boy, this one's gonna be GOOD! 😂
Did you realize in the drops he’s dropping down to an Eb1 slides back up and back down to a D1? It’s nuts
New favorite sub-genre of Christmas music!
I was sooo waiting for you to review this amazing video to see your reaction ❤
Carol of the Bells, Game of Thrones style!
I call this the Dragon Choir carol.
Do check the album art too.
This song is simply EPIC ❤
Someone in another comment section compared it to a dragon choir singing Christmas carols 😂
And I think that's a very accurate description 🐲👍🏻
Love Geoff's arrangements 🫶🏻
I'm not much into all the Christmas stuff and cheesy/poppy Christmas songs, but this one... good Lord... I'm listening to it on repeat since it dropped (literally 😂) on Friday 👍🏻
It's EPIC!! Thanks Mortius..
Your not ready for this xx
Was anybody?
No.
I no I seen the look and was like home alone has nothing on Geoff lol
I am so excited to see Mortius's Reaction to this video - it's out of this world. 😘
This is why we need epic fantasy Christmas movies 😂
Hehe. Now I would love to see your reaction to Huldra's Muppets vs. Geoff Carol of the Bells video!
Music belongs in Die Hard the greatest Christmas movie!!
I had a feeling this was gonna be favorite of yours
I really enjoy your reactions to Geoff and VoicePlay 😊
Complete musical production with deep powerful bass! Christmas in a whole new way. Boom!!!
What a fantastic rea tion/analysis! Yes, Geoff is WOW worthy!❤❤
Geoff makes me love Christmas songs and I still don't know how to feel about this 😂
Yeah, i didn't think you were ready for this one. glad to see i was right.
from what i've heard, he has the arrangements available to download on his patreon
You are not the only reactor to say this would make a wonerful movie theme song. And I have to say I toatally agree!
I knew you would enjoy this one and the only question was would you be able to remain standing when he hit the lows. Congrats on barely being able to remain standing this time.
I love how his hands are used to help him 'reach' certain notes. You can also see which part is being handled by which instance of Geoff.
I've always recommended his arrangement of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen as his best. Now? My favorite Geoff tune is the one I'm listening to at the moment. I officially have no favorite.
Agree about the movie music. Very Zimmeresque
Every time I hear this, I think it should be the background for a trailer for a John Wick Christmas movie
Nice Trailer Morty! I loved the Green Screen Bit lol.
"Frosty v. Krampus: Thumpity Thump Thump Your Soul"
NARNIA MENTION!
I knew that you'll like the song ^^
With this trailer I’m really, really looking forward to your response to Geoff!!
He is such a silver FOX GOOD LORD lol
Thanks Mortius 😊
great reaction
woohoo, looking forward to this one
Dragons are happy they've been represented at Christmas, lol. No sweet silver bells! Giant iron cathedral bells! The Geoffquakes rattle the soul!!
I , too, really enjoyed the instrumental track on this. I do have to say, though, that the vocals are a little scary - who knew Carol of the Bells could be scary? But great. I see it as more melancholy rather than scary. Very appropriate given the times (and the fact that the song is originally Ukrainian).
If Die Hard needed a new trailer
You beat me to it 🎉
Geoff Castellucci, human cello. Always fun.
New Die Hard Sequel for the movie! :)
Came here for Geoff and quickly found myself scrolling your videos to see if you'd reacted to Hi Ren by Ren. Didn't see it so I hope you react to it at some point. I always recommend him
May there be Peace. Happy Holidays
And have you seen the colors? Blue and yellow!

Mortius needs to go in the freezer his brain melted 😅😅😅
Oh and now I want to watch The Chronicles of Narnia - Winter's War! 😂😂😂
Black Friday battle song.
Great!
he needs some milk.....lol
i take that back, he needs 3 shots of whiskey......lol
Yay, a Kaz reference! ❤ And I can only agree. Maybe pour the 3 shots of whiskey into the (warm) milk? Add some coffee and brown sugar too, and you have yourself an Irish-ish coffee - Kaz style. 😂
Mortius, didn't know the headphones had RGB, you could just set that to pink to fit the vibe :D
❤❤❤❤ It is a very epic arrangement!
Great reaction, as always. Are some of the Patreon names missing? The first scrolling set ended at P.
Mortius you need a string of pearls so that when you get this shook you can clutch your pearls like the old saying lol
Dear Geoff:
Stop. Breaking. Mortius.
Every time Geoff hits a subharmonic an Angel gets it’s wings…and a devil gets it’s pitchfork. 😂
😂😂😂 Another reactor destroyed by this perfect christmas song.
🎄
Like I said on another channel, the real reason for global warming: Geoff singing this at the North Pole. He could calve glaciers with that Merry Christmas!
The Ukrainian military could take this into battle
New keyboard who dis?
AND HE IS PRETTY
WE ARE ALL GETTING BETTER
Was anyone else scared for Mortius' health and safety? No? Just me? ✋🏻👀
