19:33 "Am I High?!"...this did made me remeber something...some viking traditons did invovle certain hallusingenic mushrooms in order to commune with the gods or before a battle making them beserkers....I feel like some how that was part of their insperation for this rendition x)
Fun Fact: Jonathan (the violinist) is so insanely talented he plays a 5 string violin while most mere mortals use 4 strings like he did in this video! 🇦🇺
I also never got into Game of Thrones but that is an utterly amazing song. Peter is right this version of my mother told me is nothing like Voiceplay’s. I love them both but The Bass Gang’s version was a very pleasant surprise. Love their new EP so I’ve been listening to it and been waiting for the videos to drop
I love what they did with Rains of Castamere with the bagpipe and violin and the way My Mother Told me is sung is incredible but unfortunately I can't watch the video, I tried but the weird angles and strong colours hurt my eyes and gave me a headache. Now please understand that's a me problem and no reflection on Marwan incredible talent and artistry it's just a problem with my eyes.
I'm not into the Game of Thrones, I haven't read the books or seen a single episode, but Rains of Castamere is absolutely beautiful, and I love it. I love the arrangement and how all the parts blend into an almost symphonic whole. My only complaint was it was about 30 minutes too short.
17:11 Yes, and ive literally felt my whole body DOWN TO MY TOES vibrate listening to Tomi Ps wayfairing stranger 19:33 thats exactly what this cover made me think and I love how marwans high chest/mix kind of fits in with the editing (idk how to explain it)
I don't know if you or anyone else caught this already, but one of the gang in that final EDM part were singing with auto tune, which was really interesting for me to hear mixed in with the rest of the bass.
I have hearing aids but there Bluetooth so while I was watching this I felt it In my soul(for the first song, also watch the bass singers of ticktock sing santiana )
Personally, while I wasn't the greatest fan of their 'My Mother Told Me' (mostly coz I just don't like the original, and I'm not too into EDM), it was so great finally getting to see Eric Hollaway with them! His voice is so unique and recognizable, and just a joy to listen to, even if I'd rather it be on a bit of a different song.
It's great to see that The Bass Gang is able to turn Mortius's brain into mush as always. As far as the songs themselves, "Rains of Castamere", fair to middling. It might grow on me, eventually, possibly. Violin seemed to add a haunting feeling, a positive, but really needed? Drums, hmmmm, drums? Not sure what to think. Bagpipes, what's not to like about good bagpipes, but not for this song in my honest opinion. It just overpowered the vocals at times. Speaking of the vocals, come on, it's The Bass Gang. Ranges out of this world. What's not to like about that? In this case, just not enough to overcome the instruments at times. Now as far as "My mother told me", it's a hard pass for me personally. "I'm baffled" was a good quote from you, because that explains my reaction to it. I guess it is alright, for whatever style it is, but just too electronic, auto tuned, and synthetic for my taste. Unfortunately quite a lot of the video made me nauseous, no disrespect to the master Marwan (a lot of time, effort, talent and skill put into it as always). So far I personally have been underwhelmed by Volume 4. In fact, of all of The Bass Gang releases so far (not just Vol 4), I would say that "My mother told me" is the first one I have ever completely disliked. Don't get me wrong, these are 4 very talented singers/musicians/performers/artists/arrangers/etc that have a bright and hopefully long future ahead for them, I just personally haven't loved Volume 4 with the focus more on instruments and effects rather than their voices. Others prefer this as evidenced by the overwhelming positive comments. Songs I personally enjoyed have been too "plain" for others in the past. To each their own. Regardless, interesting to see what they come out with in the future.
I might miss the live but i bet this video will be good Btw i found your videos and now i can't stop watching them they are so good btw can i get a hi from you?
"Only cool people watch the whole outro". Ah, but does watching the whole outro make you cool, or are you just hanging with the cool people? It would be interesting to be cool for a change.
Kaleigh is right. This is not your mother's "My Mother Told Me." This is what plays when the cool kids enter Valhalla.
'have you ever felt your eardrums vibrate before?!!"
Yes. Yes, Mortius. That is how you hear sounds.
Sure, but you're not supposed to hear your hearing, now are you? 😂
Ive felt my entire body vibrate listening to Tomi P
Are they a mow tha bawk? indeed. Nicely done!
They were indeed a mow the bawk 😂

14:58 "What's going on here" 🎶
Is time now moving slow? 😂
These guys never fail to impress me, they are literally so talented it blows my mind everytime😍 Thanks so much for the amazing reaction as always!!❤
OMG, Mortius, the ad read was Perfection! ❤💜💙
An R&A that added joy to my day as ever. Thank you Mortius.
My brain has been tickled with a thousand feathers
Everyone was caught by surprise with "My mother told me". I really really loved it though
One of the most Peter arrangements ever... I love it so much
17:26, 20:16 I love Tomis F#4s in this song
Marwans A4s and high mixes are so good, but i just love pure, unedited chest notes..
"Am I high?" I felt the same way.
Great reaction Mortius, had to see this for yourself.

This is freaken sick ❤
Bro you gotta do all your ad reads like a 40s news broadcast now but go a million percent on the accent 😂
Thank you! Been waiting for this reaction. ❤
EDM is not in my wheelhouse, but this might send me there.

16:15 You're thinking of a Vocoder not a Melodica
edit: I meant a talkbox. Evening brain wasn't working
Vocoders use a microphone, not an air tube.
@@ColtonRMagby Could be a Voicebox/Talk box then, as they can be hooked up to an actual piano or other instruments
@Kamarovsky_KCM I've never heard of those before now, so they must not be very common.
I totally agree with Mortius.
Great songs, really nice reaction! Thanks!

I just LOVE this
Hey Mortius, you might need a puppy break for the next bass gang video.
Three cheers for the bagpipes trill!
And Marwan got him again, it's Grim Grinning Ghosts, all over again.
The alt name for the tube piano is
Voicebox
That was epic. Do you still have Valhalla Calling Me to react to? They killed it.
I'm still most partial to the Wellermen covier of "My Mother Told Me"
I'm actually surprised you didn't comment on the whistle notes by tomi in the end edm section of my mother told me.
I literally only noticed the F#6 at the very end yesterday lol
I love these songs ❤

Fun fact: In Icelandic, My Mother Told Me is called Þat Mælti Mín Móðir.
One thing I think i would love to see mortias look at would be the Hamilton animatics
I have hearing aids but there Bluetooth so while I was watching this I felt it In my soul(for the first song, also watch the bass singers of ticktock sing santiana )
I can imagine it's confusing when my comment says two days ago on the day this comes out lol.
It still says 1 day for me lol

I had a good birthday yesterday I just turned 22 yesterday.

Mortius, you need to react to the Beetlejuice musical! Its so good and it would fit in so nicely in the channel!
The Bass Gang has killed Mortius lol
So how many times did you think your brain snapped?
I might miss the live but i bet this video will be good
