Just speculation but it might be something not well understood by most people, such as how sometimes people are born and know something their deceased family members knew, and claim to be the same person as the deceased, and even prove to know true memories and events of the deceased family member, but a dog version, and the only thing his memories can identify or associate with a person holding a camera or cameraphone is a person holding a gun and looking through a scope perhaps. Interesting! That makes a lot of sense. I didn't consider that angle. Guard breed trait. You're either family, or the rest of the world. Vanessa is family (probably because she played with him) and cameraman is Outsider. Ruff ruff ruff, I've got my eye on you, don't think you can sneak up on me, etc. That's a distinct kind of defensiveness. Once you're able to recognize it and differentiate it from genuinely mean or personally territorial dogs, it's actually pretty cute and very easy to fix. He's like some kind of a medieval town guard, just trying to be a good boy and keep strangers away. Once you're properly introduced the dog will remember you for a long time and give you zero trouble (if it's properly bred and trained).
That little patch over Winter's right eye is for scanning people's stats. He usually needs to assess the friendliness of strangers numerically, which can take some time to compute.
As someone who was adopted by a pack of Pyrenean Mountain Dogs - especially the mother of the pack - he definitely thought he had to protect you from the camera man.
Though he was clearly distrusting of the cameraman, it seemed like Winter was exceptionally cooperative for the actual grooming process! For him to be so well behaved about the cleaning, drying, and clipping when he's that huge and you're down a helper makes all the difference. What a good boy!!
I have heard of dogs not being crazy about tall people. A vet told me that a dog she has was afraid of anyone over 5'10". So me,who likes dogs, would be scary at 6'2".
I love that he was aiming kisses at you and giving the cameraman the side eye at the same time. Also very happy that Winter's human was upfront about his (Winter's that is - damn pronouns) behavior with strangers. He was such a good boy!
Real respect to you for not filming in a way that bothered him. That shows real dedication to the dogs well-being. I wish I lived closer so I could bring my dog to you
Those weren't outright aggressive barks, those were woofs, so he seems like a really good boy who just has some nervousness about new people, as the owner said. If he could see the cameraman more often (and without the camera), I'm sure they could become great friends.
That is one big and beautiful beast. *So fluffy.* We had a dog when I was a kid who did not like my grandfather. He’d welcome everyone else, but he would plant his feet and bark at Grandpa. We finally figured out the dog didn’t like the hat my grandfather always wore. Dogs are weird, but life just isn’t the same without one.
@Farmer Fpv ik, it's a joke playing off the title, like if some shows a strong dislike of cake and you say "you guys... idk about you, but i don't think this person likes cake"
"I can only tolerate one hooman at a time cameraman, and your one too many!!" says Winter. Like the black fur on side of right eye. Very distinguished pooch, his own personal look. 👍🏻😊🐶
I once became friends with a dog like that. Neighbor's dog barked at me for a year until he suddenly decided I wasn't scary anymore. He turned out incredibly sweet and lovable 😍💕
Winter is the first to call out the cameraman for filming him while showering 😅😅 I mean I totally get it. No one wants to be filmed while bathing 😂 in some situations that's technically a crime 😂😂😂
He was not feeling the cameraman. I’m glad you guys respected his feelings and let him dictate the bath. I can’t imagine what would happen if he became aggressive. Also, I love the way you talk to him “excuse me I need to brush that thank you “😂😂😂
So if you we're the dog you'd act "normal" to someone holds a suspicious black thingy at you While recording you with you not knowing or even giving consent?
What a good boy, Winter!! Doin exactly what Pyr should do and sounding the alarm! He's a beauty, I bet he's a love bug with his people, he has super soft eyes even when hes sounding off
Winter is a handsome guy. I'm glad that you accommodated his feelings and filmed differently. The dog's comfort is more important than our entertainment. I must say I recently had an encounter with a Great Pyrenees dog and it was uncomfortable. He barked nonstop to warn of my presence. He was doing his job but he kept a close eye on me and what I was doing. I was dropping off a load of pet food at an animal rescue but I got the stink eye the entire time I was unloading. Thank you for explaining more about each breed. I could understand why he was barking when normally dogs love me.
They are herding dogs who protect prey animals at farms so they’re naturally protective and eager to alert to predators or danger! Don’t take it personally lol
I think that Winter seriously thought that the camera man was a threat to you hahaha. I think he is just smart seeing you being so small and then becoming protective over you.
Im a dog psychologist just like 95% of people in the comment section and i can tell you the dog was acting that way because the camera man is a evil person.
Well imagine you're guarding a herd of sheep and a predator is just staring at you for many minutes. The natural assumption is that he's thinking about attacking. A cameraman probably invokes those feelings.
Now THAT was a big dog bark!! Winter is a gorgeous dog and he seems pretty laid back. I think he was really enjoying the towel dry down. You didn't indicate a big amount of fur as you groomed him?? I would have expected a pillow full?? Those paws looked like bear paws. How long to groom that ball of fluff?? Have a nice day.
OMG what a handsome floofy boy! I bet he's just a big lovebug when he gets used to you but I wonder if he just doesn't like men that much. I've glad y'all were able to keep him comfortable and cooperative. :)
I think his protective pyr side came out with you! He decided you were a part of his flock and camera man looked sus lol. I really clear example of both sides of the great Pyrenees personality. When you are their person they are so patient, cuddly and mellow but with new people definitely some distrust until vetted properly. 😂
I could tell just by his look alone that this boy had some Great Pyrenees in his blood. Always glancing sidewards, never loosing sight of what he perceives to be suspicious with a stubborn insistence. Many people come across mine and think he's always that moody, but I always remind them that once those eyes look at you with confort, your heart will melt.
Maybe he was a bluffer. His barks meant " hold me back, just let me at him", when in reality, he'd only do more barking. lol But, he's too big to challenge that assumption. lol
@@KindCountsDeb3773 yes people are always afraid of my great pyr, but i know if they ran at him he would just run away. Definitely a bluff. If you're a coyote or a bob cat tho... Gods speed

Being 4’8” myself-I think your size theory is correct. I’ve never had a big dog be nervous around me…because, who fears a squeaky toy? 😂❤
5'3" and I agree. Even the littlest bebe dog isn't intimidated by me.
I have the same theory about why all kids seem to like me. They think im one of them....i guess thete had to be some benifits to being small.😁
@@bchang3298 good things come in small packages. Remember that.
@@parkerbrown-nesbit1747 Yeah good things 😏
I have heard of dogs not being crazy about tall people. A vet told me that a dog she has was afraid of anyone over 5'10".
So me,who likes dogs, would be scary at 6'2".
When the camera tried to pan to his toes and he barked like "eyes up here, buddy" I definitely laughed.
Thanks for viewing, hit me up, I got a surprise for you 🎉.🐕🦺.🎁
You've found the reason. Winter is insecure about his paws. That's why he got mad at the cameraman.
I love that he was aiming kisses at you and giving the cameraman the side eye at the same time. Also very happy that Winter's human was upfront about his (Winter's that is - damn pronouns) behavior with strangers. He was such a good boy!
I love his face. He looks like a gentle giant.
Unless you’re a camera man
Real respect to you for not filming in a way that bothered him. That shows real dedication to the dogs well-being. I wish I lived closer so I could bring my dog to you
I love how he curled around you, when he could, to defend you from the evil CameraMan! :)
I've never seen a dog so aggressively side-eye someone as this one at 0:20. 🤣🤣
Winter is like “you know this guy? Don’t worry, I’ll protect you small lady. He shall do nothing to you while I’m here!”
Those weren't outright aggressive barks, those were woofs, so he seems like a really good boy who just has some nervousness about new people, as the owner said. If he could see the cameraman more often (and without the camera), I'm sure they could become great friends.
That is one big and beautiful beast. *So fluffy.*
We had a dog when I was a kid who did not like my grandfather. He’d welcome everyone else, but he would plant his feet and bark at Grandpa. We finally figured out the dog didn’t like the hat my grandfather always wore. Dogs are weird, but life just isn’t the same without one.
Omg that's hilarious 😂
Reminds me of Rex the cyber dog from Fallout - "he doesn't like hats, or the people wearing them."
I see winter is not the biggest fan of the cameraman 😅 also he is so cute and fluffy
She literally says that in the video, duh, lol.
@Farmer Fpv ik, it's a joke playing off the title, like if some shows a strong dislike of cake and you say "you guys... idk about you, but i don't think this person likes cake"
Who, the cameraman? 😉
"I can only tolerate one hooman at a time cameraman, and your one too many!!" says Winter. Like the black fur on side of right eye. Very distinguished pooch, his own personal look. 👍🏻😊🐶
“I demand my privacy, away from the eyes of the pawparazzi.”
pawparazzi 😂😂😂👍👍👍
I once became friends with a dog like that. Neighbor's dog barked at me for a year until he suddenly decided I wasn't scary anymore. He turned out incredibly sweet and lovable 😍💕
Winter is the first to call out the cameraman for filming him while showering 😅😅 I mean I totally get it. No one wants to be filmed while bathing 😂 in some situations that's technically a crime 😂😂😂
🤣😅🤣
He’s like, “eyes up here buddy!” 😠
Nah he was already barking at him before that
@@fenixlavande4755 “you’re violating my rights!”
@Peter K. he was already familiar with their content, he knew what was up.
HE'S SO FLUFFY I COULD DIE!!!!
🤗😆😆😆😆😆
Winter is absolutely beautiful and I love that he’s a little bit shady 😂
His little eyes at the camera man are so cute. He is like "im still looking at you, im not going to be tricked"
He was not feeling the cameraman. I’m glad you guys respected his feelings and let him dictate the bath. I can’t imagine what would happen if he became aggressive. Also, I love the way you talk to him “excuse me I need to brush that thank you “😂😂😂
Vanessa is always polite -- first.
If he wanted to be aggressive he could just lay down on the human pin him to the ground and take a nap. Lol
My GSD-Husky is like that, he is more likely to move if I say "excuse me, please" than if I say move. He is a polite doggo.
@@gnic76 my GSD is the same. Matter of fact she won’t move if I say anything else other than excuse me 😂
You are literally the tiny warrior! you handle the toughest and scaryest as well as the fluffyest and softest dogs. you have a good heart.
. . . i might be a tall person :P (5'11)
He was rude to the cameraman, but also looked to be exceptionally well behaved for the bathing and trimming. Lucky, to be frank
So if you we're the dog you'd act "normal" to someone holds a suspicious black thingy at you
While recording you with you not knowing or even giving consent?
This dog is so likable. So cooperative and so guant. 😘 He likes you. I think he sees a cameraman as threat to his moments with you. 😂
He reminded me so much of my Great Pyranees. Loved that dog so much. Great protector. Saved my life when a cougar was in my yard.
Omg he’s so fluffy!!
What a good boy, Winter!! Doin exactly what Pyr should do and sounding the alarm! He's a beauty, I bet he's a love bug with his people, he has super soft eyes even when hes sounding off
His gentleness with you melted my heart. He may be weary of strangers but his comfort with you is adorable. LOVED this. ❤
When a cute dog is on screen, you click it
He is jealous of the cameraman, he wants all the cuddles for himself
Yep Winter was saying what's mine is mine, what's yours is negotiable.
My thought exactly
Nah, that is a working dog. Not jealousy, protectiveness
@@CaribouOrange it was a joke, I said it because the cameraman is her boyfriend
He is huge and gorgeous! WOW! Cuddles and snuggles for sure....if he doesn't eat you first.
He's so freaking adorable.... that eye stripe is amazing ...and he loves you Vanessa .
Oh my goodness Winter is absolutely beautiful! What a sweetheart ❤. He is all white except his one eye and his ears. What an absolute doll.
He's like " don't get too close, I protect my groomer "❤
Winter is such a big, beautiful baby! And he's such a heckin' good protector! ❤️
Oooh how he judges the cameraman but loves on you! So cute!
He knows that Vanessa is no threat, even with her air pistol and other weapons. The cameraman however is suspected.
You made him look very handsome.
Winter does not consent to being filmed! Seriously, so beautiful. I enjoyed his personality and love the patches of color around his coat. ❤️💜
Idk how there aren't more Falkor comments 😂 This pupper is giving me major Never Ending Story vibes 🥰🐕❤️
More like Neverending Floofy, what a pretty boi
Winter saw the cameraman and was like; absolutely not! It's a no for me, get him out of here 😂😂😂 Such a beautiful boy 💛💛
I love that he would bark at the camera man and then turn to you and be sweet. Like he was saying that he wouldn't hurt you ever so don't worry.
I love huge dogs. Finally, found someone who makes good grooming vids with large dogs 😊
he’s trying to protect her how sweet 😭❤️❤️❤️❤️
1:28 this giant pupper looks like a delicious ice cream sundae
With some chocolate ❤
So sweet and gentle with you! Yet so guarded against the cameraman. Really showing personality traits from both breeds there!
Beautiful dog!
I love his bark. It's full-bodied!!
Winter is a beautiful pup, who uses his words to voice his opinion. He's a good fluffy boy. He looks like a polar bear.
2:31 I caught that shade you threw at that poor cameraman lmao
I think Winter was more wary than weary. What a beautiful big bear of a dog!
By far, one of my favorites on the channel. Winter is such a cutie 💓 ❤
He's 4 and still has pink paws so cute
Winter is absolutely gorgeous. He is so "doggish" looking. His face tells his whole story. He hates the camera man but loves the rest of the world.
Lol he looks at you at one point like “see, I’m protecting you from that cameraman over there”
Watch out for that camera man as this sweet huge mountain of fur "sees" the soul of this guy as most good dogs DO ❤
He is so mellow with the groomer but so fierce against the cameraman. Biggest fluffy bear from Winter.
Gods speed
No matter how often the cameraman says 'It's okay', it's still not okay 🤭
He's so proud of himself protecting you from the skeery camera man.
He’s guarding you.
3:30 “if I have to tell you again, cameraman!” 😆
Thank you for accommodating Winter without any yelling. (Not that you guys would)
Didn't see drool. 😁
He is gorgeous. ♥️
