You have to be chosen to stay at the temple, you can't just show up and they are going to let you stay. Even a traditional martial arts school in Asia, won't accept you, just because you want to learn and have money to pay.

The perception of education in a place like this is so incredible. where in societies a series of totally unnecessary learning is required for young people, who learn to be competitive, individualistic and ignorant about their abilities. They learn to be machines to be used by the consumerist society. Happy for a child who is lucky enough to have a life experience like this.
Shaolin Temples have proven to stood the test of time when it comes to the years of brutality and prosecutions and burgularies and raids they still stand today and even still inhabited compare to any other uninhabited monuments or abandoned places in the world.
Their parents are poor and also don’t have time to take care of their sons. This monastery is like an orphanage but it only admits ambitious, disciplined little boys.
